The Air Jordan Opening Day Pack drops in stores this weekend, this pack has already been a hit with collectors and casual sneakerheads alike. Most Jordan fanatics know that MJ’s first sport was actually baseball and not basketball and when he “retired” for the first time he left the sport of basketball to pursue his baseball dreams. He landed with the Chicago White Sox and then was moved down to the minor league affiliate, Birmingham Barons. Jordan Brand wanted to commemorate Michael’s playing days on the baseball diamond with this Opening Day Pack inspired by the Home and Away jerseys of the White Sox/Barons and various aspects of baseball. The shoes will retail for $100 and matching apparel will also release.

Whoever came up with the concept for this shoe is a pure genius. It’s about time there was a jordan shoe that had a baseball theme. Utilizing the classic jordan 1 and infusing it with the Birmingham Barron home and away uniform look is visually appealing but not being too overwhelming at the same time. The added stat/bat symbol is another plus for the shoe. Overall the Jordan Opening Day pack is a instant hit ( No pun intended ) and a MUST for any Jordan fanatic.
