Julius and Jay- just to let u both know nike and jordan are both very much connected the reason that the retro ivs have the jumpman logo as opposed to the ogs which have the nike logo is simply because jordan brand had not begun to put the logo so explicitly on the shoe in the late 80s when the shoes were first released. If you study ogs you will probably find that 1-5s sported the nike on the heel and 6+ have the jumpman logo. hope this helps

Julius…is that why? I never knew. But if they are so separated why is it that when you buy a pair of jordans there are still nike tags on the bottom of the box. Why call it a retro if you are going to change the sneaker. People love the OG and the 1st retro ALL the way…the jumpman takes something away from the “magic” of the shoes (excuse my corniness). I just really don’t know where your info is from because Jordan Brand is VERY much connected to Nike. There are a few jordans without nike logos while jordan was under contract and I’m not saying you’re wrong but i dunno man…

because the jordan brand has separated itself from nike, they’re a company of their own now so there is no need to put nike logos on the shoe anymore. back when nike had a contract over jordan it ws mandatory now they dont have a contract with them anymore so they can do what they want
