Emerica is set to re-release one of their most classic skate sneakers. The ‘MJ1′ (now dubbed the ‘OG1′) was the very first pro model signature shoe for Thrasher’s 2007 Skater of the Year, Marc Johnson. The shoes were originally created with the intent to be flexible and light to live up to Marc’s technical and smart skating. The shoes feature a suede upper with ventilated mesh and a padded tongue and collar for extra protection. The toe cap features triple stitching for extra skate durability, and the foot bed is made of a molded STI foam insole for extra comfort. While the soles are not vulcanized, they do have a gum out sole for extra grip. Although Marc no longer rides for Emerica, this re-release is slated for early 2009, just in time to cash in on the hype Marc built with his epic 3 song video part in the latest Lakai ‘Fully Flared’ video. Available in sizes 5 – 14.

The Marc Johnson pro model 1 by emerica is BAD ASS!!! I wish they would bring back the Marc Johnson pro model 2, that shoe is my favorite.

I was really excited as well when i found out they where re-releasing them. My brother found a pair at some outlet store, and i was really bummed that they didn’t have any in my size. But now they are!!

i am extremely excited, i remember finding my last pair was a size 8.5 of all grey leather 2’s and they barley fit but i still wore them, this is like incredible this is the one show ive always wanted to come back, plus MJ is the shit.

Damn, this I started skating 10 years ago. My neighbor was a huge Marc Johnson fan we’re from Winston-Salem, NC same as Marc. Now, I had the originals back in the day, and they we’re the absolute best shoes ever made. Every pair of shoes I’ve ever owned have resembled these, although I always just wanted another pair of these. Thank you, Emerica.
