This Dunk High pictured above has a lot going for it, and a lot going into it. We see an Everlast-esque “Ultimate Glory” tag on the tongue, plus “Chavez” and “De La Hoya” embroidery on the left and right heel, respectively. Some believed these were a promo item in conjunction with Dutch MMA promotion Glory aka Ultimate Glory for an upcoming pay-per-view event. Digging deeper, we find that “Ultimate Glory” was the tagline for June 7, 1996 De La Hoya-Chavez bout. This puts to rest any speculation about the MMA tie-in, so we’ll just have to wait to see if these ever make it to retail. Via Nikesb.org
