After the successful introduction of Mongolian Shoe BBQ in 2005, and the on-line launch in 2006, PUMA® has recently added the First Round silhouette to the program. From the PUMA Archive in 1987, the First Round is a hi-top version of the Basket. The high cut and padded collar made this shoe and instant hit with both the hip-hop and skateboarding community. The iconic style has now joined the Basket and RS100 in the Mongolian Shoe BBQ to give consumers a chance to fully customize a pair of shoes in a hands-on, tactile and interactive shoe making experience.
In addition to the introduction of the First Round, there is also a range of new materials to choose from, including nylon in navy and canvas in black, white and burnt olive. Every aspect of the shoe is independently customizable, from the choice of both fat and skinny laces, to the choice of outsole and the color of the tongue tag.
Mongolian Shoe BBQ is now a permanent fixture at participating PUMA concept stores and online at PUMA.com where customers, or “chefs,” get a chance to flex their creative muscles and try their hand at shoe design with a new PUMA sneaker style.

i got some of these PUMA MONGOLIAN BBQ customizable kicks for my husband for father’s day and i am SO disappointed!!!! please think twice before spending $120.00 and then waiting 6+ weeks on these shoes. had i ANY idea of how they’d turn out or had i seen any reviews on them, i would have quickly changed my mind!!! the shoes look cheap and not even like authentic pumas (which they are, so it only makes it worse) while the colors and design is nice(bcuz I designed it), the materials look old and second hand. it’s as if they used left over materials and came up with this customize concept. i have photos too!! i don’t know how to post them. but please beware. the thing i hate the most is that at the top of the shoe the tongue bunches and it looks bad to have to keep bending over and pulling the tongue so it doesn’t do that. it’s only on the right foot and it developed a permenent crease after only a couple hours of him wearing them. such a waste of money!!!!

I ordered a pair of PUMA MONGOLIAN BBQ customizable sneakers and I am very disappointed. They differ a lot from the website renderings and are very uncomfortable… they are not true to their size chart and have no arc support at all. They look and feel cheap and are unbelievably uncomfortable. To be fair, I must clarify that I’m a fan of the brand and own a lot of Puma shoes and clothes, therefore I was expecting the same this time around.
I called Customer Service to find out how to make a return and the experience was even worse… It was like talking to a wall; they would not listen to my concerns.
I would not recommend this to anyone at all.
