While some collectors have shed tears over pairs of their most beloved kicks yellowing through the years, others can’t get enough of that vintage look. If you fall into that second category, we’ve got just the thing for you. Following up on last year’s success, Nike has released two new editions of the Terminator Low in that time-tested vintage style. Both the varsity red and pine green versions feature mesh/leather uppers and are set off by soft pearl highlights. If you regret missing out on the last batch, you can get these now at Overkill.

Best known for designing the Rolling Stone logo, psychedelic surf and rock artist Rick Griffin is being honored by Vans this fall with a special collection of sneakers bearing his designs. In what seems like a no-brainer collaboration, Griffin’s original art will adorn two t-shirts and four different Vans models, with one coming in two different colorways. In addition to Griffin’s drawings on the interiors and exteriors of each model, they all feature his mindbending original lettering style scrawled all over. Sadly, Rick Griffin was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1991, but his legacy will live on with each pair. via Mashkulture.

The Air Jordan Force IV (AJF 4) has been one of the most debated Fusion’s from Jordan Brand yet and while we’ve shown you plenty of looks at the Black, Red, and Cement pair we now have our first detailed look at the White, Varsity Red, and Black pair which some are already calling the “Fire Red” pair since they resemble the “Fire Red” Air Jordan IV’s. One noticeable difference between the actual sample pair we are showing you and the renderings we saw weeks ago is that there is no visible heel Air unit on the sample like there is on the renderings, whether or not the final version that comes to retail in the Fall and Holiday 2009 Season will have the visible heel Air unit remains a mystery but we’ll first let you sneakerheads and Jordan Brand fans debate whether or not these shoes are worthy of your money or not. via NiceKicks

The newest hybrid shoe to come from Nike Sportswear is this new Nike Terminator Hybrid which takes the Nike Terminator and changes it up a bit to make it not only more comfortable but more of a performance outdoor shoe. We originally presented this pair to you in September of 2008, when we had thought that they would be an ACG shoe, but it turns out they are in fact part of the Nike Sportswear Spring 2009 Collection. The shoe’s most technological feature is the use of Clima-Fit and Neoprene on it’s upper which allows for the shoe to be more breathable in addition to water resistant and more lightweight. Pick these up at select Nike Sportswear retailers like Ice Field.

For Air Jordan-heads, Carmelo Anthony is one of the luckiest players alive as he gets player exclusive after a player exclusive from shoes ranging from the AJV, AJXII, AJXXIII and many more that are designed exclusively for him. Here is another Melo PE that his sure to make your neck break even if you are looking directly at the computer screen.
No, you are not seeing things, the shoe above is, in fact, an Air Jordan IV laser designed for Melo in a classic Olympic colorway. The shoe has a red out-sole, white mid-sole and a navy blue upper accented by white netting and red eyelets. The lasered design on the upper is actually in gold, possibly to represent the domination displayed by the USA Basketball team this past summer. While these will, most likely, be impossible to ever get your hands on…we thought there must be a good amount of Jordan-heads out there who will appreciate the pictures. As you look through the pictures below, be sure to peep the glimpses of the AJII, AJV and AJVII, all of which were made exlcusively for Melo. via tprel of NikeTalk

Even though LeBron James has always declined to participate in the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest due to the unnecessary risk of injury, it hasn’t stopped Nike Basketball from putting out a Sprite-themed Zoom LeBron Soldier II. Even though Sprite sponsors more parts of the NBA than just the Slam Dunk Contest, we can help but think about it considering the contest – along with All-Star Weekend – is quickly approaching.
The Zoom LeBron Soldier II “Sprite” edition comes in a colorway similar to a Sprite can featuring green, blue, yellow and white. The color scheme is one thing, but the details of this PE takes the shoe to another level. Filling the blue part of the upper are white bubbles to remind you, perhaps, of the refreshing and crispy nature of Sprite. Also featured is a huge LeBron Jumpan on the bottom of the sole along with “King” and “James” printed on two hangtags on opposite shoes of the pair. Word is these were strictly produced as a player exclusive for King James and are not set to drop anywhere, not even House of Hoops, but we’ll keep you posted if we hear anything different. via NikeLeBron
