The Nike Terminator recieved a nice revival last year, with a wide variety of new takes on the classic basketball sneaker. While we saw a ton of interesting colourways and packs, we’re not sure if any of those concepts were as fully realized as the idea inspiring this new pair. Nike Sportswear is bringing us another take on denim footwear, this time using premium selvage denim.
Selvage is the technique of covering the raw edge of cut denim in a ribbon folded over either side and stitched together to protect the raw part. It’s most clearly seen on the tongue, but probably isn’t the most recognizable take on classic jeans. That’s a toss-up between the copper rivet on the outside rear quarters and the Levi’s-like “NSW” tag on the outside ankles. An exceptionally well executed concept, these are likely to drop in summer or fall of this year. Stay tuned to Sneaker News for updates. Pic from Kix-Files

This shoe is like many featured on our part of the blogosphere: it has appeared in a few different makeups, including what appeared to be a strangely coloured PE. Given that Steve Nash runs the point for the Phoenix Suns, you’d expect Orange rather than red. Well, that’s exactly what we see now. In its finished form, the Nike Zoom MVP X Steve Nash PE follows the same distribution of white and black, but swaps red for orange. They’re available now at the Kix-Files Online Store.

When you’ve got a hundred years of experience in the shoe game like Converse, you could fill at least a book or two. Now, imagine there was a book for each year, how would you fill them? How about with a pair of shoes — keep it simple, silly.
This new release from the One Star is anything but simple: an elaborate mockup of a century’s worth of volumes that placed together reveal a multicoloured Converse logo along the bottom of the spines. Upon further inspection, the “books” are actually rectangular slabs of cardboard with a circle cut into the middle, facilitating the placement of a pair of off-white Chuck Taylor All Stars. A very clever way of celebrating their centinneal, we can’t wait to see what Converse has in store(s) next.
These surfaced on the DesignBoom blog which doesn’t traditionally showcase footwear, so we’ll bring you more pics and the release date once it leaks from Converse.

The Nike Foamposite Lite has been released in select General Release (GR) colorways already and now it’s time for various Player Exclusive (PE) colorways to start hitting select Nike Basketball retailers such as the Nike x Footlocker House of Hoops locations. The newest PE of the Foamposite Lite to hit is this Caron Butler Away PE in Black and Copper with a hint of some Wizards Blue in there as well. The shoe is predominantly Black while it’s still accented with enough of the Wizards Blue and Copper colors. The shoe’s tongue features Butler’s nickname, “3D”. While the Wizards keep losing, at least their star Small Forward will look good on the court with these on. via solezprogression // Niketalk

Update: A size 11 is on ebay now.

The creme de la creme from Off the Wall, the Authentic and Sk8-Hi models are Vans’ bread and butter. Defying all culinary analogies, these joints still look delicious in royal blue and white. The look is simple and effective, especially when paired with the checkerboard lining and insoles. This is exactly the kind of quality we’ve come to expect from both Vans and in a colourway that makes us think of Colette, it makes sense to find both at their online store.

When we first showed you the Spring 2009 Nike SB Colleciton last July, and into November when we found more pictures of this model, we knew they were set for Q1, but when? And where? The answers are “soon” and “you’ll be lucky to find a pair.” Dropping next month as a quickstrike, we are reminded of the other denim pair we showed you during Turkey month. You should start to expect more hype for these over the next couple of weeks, and you know we’ll have more shots and info where to cop here at Sneaker News. Gracias, Colmilludo
