With the Nike RT1 High profiled just yesterday, we have just received more information on the sneaker that has been dubbed the “Un-Yeezys”. This high-top sneaker sports a large, cushioned tongue, commonly seen on skateboard sneakers and very similar to that of the Nike Air Yeezy. Other than that, the shoe contains a classic Nike design bearing some resemblance to the Nike Franchise model. We now know that the black pair will release this coming April, while two additional colorways, grey and white, will release in May and June, respectively. The sneakers will retail for $95.
Style: 354034 001
Color: Black/Black/Varsity Red/White
Look for these now at select Nike retailers as well as on nikestore.com.

When Nike purchased Converse in 2003 for a cool $350 million, they probably weren’t thinking of adding a counterpart to the SB line they created just a year earlier. Time flies when you’re manipulating demand, and Nike/Converse might just have the Dwyane Wade to their Kobe Bryant, so to speak.
We’ve seen a few skateboarding shoes from One Star and now with the Black/Gold Pack, Converse is marking the start of a more aggressive strategy. Made up of the ERX 300 and CTS (Chuck Taylor Skate), this perforated pack of black leather kicks are accented with gold and red. The CTS looks like some of the other high-end leather Chucks we’ve seen, while the ERX 300 mimics the Nike RT1, Supra Skytop and other high-cut kicks du jour. Take a look at the pics from CtotheJL and check back with us for more details when Converse announces the release date.

As if taking inspiration from candy bits known for their use of the spectrum weren’t enough, New Balance has turned to what may be *the* authority in colour systems for another 996 runner. There are two 996s here actually, both sporting palettes from the one and only Pantone.
Both pairs use white as a base, but pics from Random Ramblings shows how each achieves a unique result. What we’d casually refer to as the “white pair” takes an upper of white patent leather and nylon and adds deeply saturated yet contemporary shades of the primary colours to the eyelets, lining, heel and rear midsole. As we see above, both pairs feature a pallate of six colours on the heel and tongue tag, but the “red pair” is quite different.
A wonderful gradient effect is achieved by working from brick red to white through pink side panels. The rear quarter/heel is reminiscent of carbon fibre, but a closer look reveals textured patent leather. The “white pair” certainly has a springtime vibe and the “red pair” would be perfect for Valentine’s Day, so the Spring/Q1 2009 release seems appropriate. Be sure to check Sneaker News for more pictures and release date, once it solidifies.

We just saw the Saucony Candy Pack, and just like the multinational conglomerates that cook up the little bits of joy they drew inspiration from, we’re thankful a single company can’t claim a monopoly on flavor. New Balance occupies a similar market position as Saucony (albeit in different regions), so it’s not shocking to see that they’ve jumped on the sugarland express bandwagon.
Just like the Shadow 6000s we mentioned above, NB didn’t get any official love from candymakers when designing these new 996s. The world’s foremost WASP cobblers took the idea a bit further than their Pennsylvania-based competetors, adding a lowercase “n” button (easily inserted into an eyelet of your choice) that looks suspiciously like iconic candy bits that also inspire the polka-dotted tongue tag.
Available in both the M&Ms/Skittles-derived purple/pink colourway and a silver makeup that draws inspiration from aluminum chocolate wrappers, Random Ramblings has these pegged for a Spring/Q1 2009 release. Take a look at more pics after the jump and check back with Sneaker News for updates.

The “Tale of Three Cities” will end with the release of the the Zoom LeBron VI Los Angeles edition. The first city in the mix was the Big Apple Zoom LeBron VI and the second was the Miami Zoom LeBron VI both of which have already released exclusively in their respective cities. While all of the city editions has elements of the graffiti pattern, the Los Angeles edition is the only one utilizing it, on the midsole. The rest of the sneaker is a combination of grey nubuck and textured leather on the uppers along with crimson details through out. This final Zoom LeBron VI LA will release exclusively in Los Angeles on January 19th, 2009. Via Freshness

It’s a new year, so it’s about time for a new collaboration between designer extraordinaire Taka Hayashi and Vans. This time, it’s the Vans Vault collection that the Japanese-born artist has made his own. Containing two No Quarter LXs, two Velocita LXs and a trio of Akat LX, all three models draw heavily upon a combination of traditional Native American aesthetics, vintage military surplus and 1960′s Italian shoes. The mashup is nothing short of stunning — exceptionally sharp colour choices compliment these rarely seen models — the collection really stands out as Taka’s *own*. They’ll all be ready this summer, and you can find more pics after the jump, via mashKULTURE

Circa isn’t a major player in the streetwear game yet — though they release serviceable skate kicks on the reg, only once have they recognized the value of a well-placed collaboration. Their new effort with Korean brand Buried Alive might be a step in that direction.
Using the Circa Lopez 50 model as a canvas, Buried Alive apply their signature teal-and-red palatte to a grey suede upper. Skeletal hands clutching a “Buried Alive”-emblazened tombstone and a patterned grey and black lining are the highlights here, along with “Buried” and “Alive” printed on the left and right heels, respectively. With no solid release date (BA reports January, but the month will end before we know it), be sure to check Sneaker News and the Buried Alive website for updates.

Images surfaced of two of Nike’s spring/summer 2009 Blazer releases. The Blazer has made a huge comeback as of late thanks to Nike Sportswear and the Nike Tier 0 programs and will no doubt continue to grow in popularity when these drop. With luxury materials and a clean, simple look, these sneakers should be highly coveted pieces. Two versions will be available including a velcro version and clean version with just the swoosh outlined with perforations. via Kenlu.
