Originally released as the running mate to the Dunk in 1985, the Nike Big Nike is poised to make a triumphant return. Although the Big Nike has a similar look to the Dunk, it also appears to have drawn some of its influences from the Jordan I and the Terminator as well. Once championed by 80′s NBA big men, such as 7 foot 7″ skyscraper Manute Bol, nowadays the retro version will probably a better fit for the street than the court. They will be re-released in a crisp white on white version with some subtle elephant skin material wrapping the heel and ankle. via Colmilludo.

Magic was in the air on Tuesday as our country came together as one in a celebration of hope and pride. While history was being made in Washington, Atlanta Hawks point guard Mike Bibby was busy in Chicago, lighting up the Bulls with his season-high 31 points. Was it the shoes? Only Mike knows for sure, but the special Inauguration Day Jordan Pure Pressures on his feet couldn’t have hurt. As you’ll see in the detailed images below, the date “1-20-09″ is stitched into the tongue and the midsole is exquisitely decorated with a kinetic red, white and blue stars and stripes design, brilliantly conveying the excitement and celebration of the monumental day. If you’ve been wanting some type of souvenir to commemorate the inauguration, these will be available exclusively at House of Hoops.

If you are a true Air Force 1 King, then you certainly love the almighty AF1 Hi. Seemingly kept as a rarity, hi-top forces are seldom seen either on the shelves or on peoples’ feet. This means that when Nike does sneak a grand daddy hi in the mix, they better come correct or purists will be buggin! Well folks, Nike certainly got it right with this release. What you see pictured above is the long awaited Nike AF1 Hi Supreme in Neutral Grey and White. Seen before on Flight Club, this gem is now available at select retailers. This release will be limited to NSW accounts only as mentioned before on SneakerNews with only 1 size run per door landing.
Reminiscent of the Grey One’s AF1 Hi from 2004 this supreme makes perfect use of texture, grey tones, and clean white. With tucked and seamless edges, attention is drawn to the use of super-supple neutral grey nubuck – no durabuck here folks, supreme all the way! A charcoal grey tongue with anthracite nylon piping and tongue tag set off the contrast as a white outsole and full grain leather swoosh round out the shoe for perfect balance. But wait, it gets better! Laser etched elephant print drapes the shoe in a descending matrix-code-like fashion; a first in AF1 history when it comes to the use of elephant print. As if all these goodies weren’t enough, Nike adorns this masterpiece with a set of grey supreme laces, adds a set of regular white laces, and greets your feet with leather insoles. via GourmetKickz

By now, you’ve probably already seen the White Men Can’t Jump and Teen Wolf installments of the Nike Media Pack. Completing the trilogy, the Nike Blazer will pay respect to the Oscar-winning film, Hoosiers. The 1986 movie, starring Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper, told the emotional and inspiring story of a small-town high school basketball team and its coaches overcoming adversity in 1950′s Indiana.
With its old-school basketball style, the Blazer was the perfect choice to represent the Hickory Huskers’ red and gold uniforms and the black sole is a nice step towards balancing vintage with contemporary. The Blazer has been getting a ton of new looks lately and it looks like these will be among the best. A basketball movie themed Nike pack would not have been complete without a tribute to one of the greatest sports movies of all time. Available now at House of Hoops and coming soon to Osneaker.

Fresh out of this year’s Bread & Butter tradeshow comes some previews of the New Balance Fall 2009 line up. The pick of the litter appears to be a 1500′s pack, consisting of 4 slick new colorways. The white/beige and white/navy versions convey that classic conservative New Balance feel, while the black/lime and black/purple are a bit wilder. All 4 seem to feature a combination of suede, mesh and smooth leather. If you like what you see, keep an eye out this fall at select New Balance dealers.

A few days ago, preview photos of the upcoming Air Max 90 Current Huarache were unleashed on niketalk, we just got a pair of these in this morning and they are just amazingly comfortable. This is because, this Air Max 90 Current borrows the Huarache technology. From the photo above you can see the use of the Huarache neoprene bootie that makes up the tongue and surrounds the inner midfoot. The rest of the upper body features black synthetic suede and ballistic mesh and even a few strands of Flywire. The sneaker is lined with neoprene in the back half of the sneakers and is lined with nylon in the toe area making for a incredibly comfortable and light weight all around sneaker. The Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache will release Fall 2009.
