Last weekend, the NBA’s best battled for East/West bragging rights at the All-Star Game in Phoenix, and now their sneakers can fight it out daily for domination of your computer’s desktop. The good folks at Nike Basketball have been kind enough to create these sweet downloadable wallpapers featuring some of the hottest Nike 2009 All-Star Edition Sneakers. The tough choice will be between the game MVP’s West Zoom Kobe IV’s in red or everybody’s favorite phenom’s East Zoom Lebron VI’s in blue. If the dilemma is too tough, you can always just rep your coast with the East or West Huarache ’09′s. You can download them all now at NikeBasketball and make your difficult decisions later.

New Balance has a knack for updating classic models, most of which happen to look very similar. So when you have a model like the 1500 that is consistently amazing, that’s saying something. Back in a pack of colourways reminiscent to their breathtaking ‘Nazar/Evil Eye’ release, Solebox’s touch on the New Balance 1500 is impeccable. There are two black and grey models, each differentiated by the rear panel. One features a rich forest green suede, the other rocks brick red. These are expected this summer, so check Sneaker News for updates and more pictures. via HS

The Converse Jack Purcell Distressed Pack for J.Crew was the logical result of two American classics colliding, but what happens when one of those icons has taken a ride on the Crazy Train? In a complete 180 from yesterday’s releases, today we see the latest in Converse’s efforts to commemorate its centennial in collaboration with the world’s biggest rockstars. Inspired by the Prince of Darkness’s cartoonish insignia (which appears on the outer heel), these hightops take the canvas upper to a whole new level with leather buckles in lieu of laces. The effect clearly conveys a straight jacket, but you needn’t feel ‘Paranoid’: not even the ‘Hand of Doom’ could stop these from dropping soon at retailers like Livestock. via SneakersBR

Goofy Boy’s comeback wasn’t complete; until now. Big Brother Magazine’s mid-90s mascot of sorts made his way onto a Low Dunk SB, a Mid and now this hightop. The Nike SB Dunk High Pro pictured above might be the ‘nicest’ of the bunch, topping the Pro-edition lowtop and the Premium Mid with its striking colourway. Just like the others, GB appears on the insole, while the upper features quite a bit of green denim. Throw in red suede on the toe, eyelets and tongue and some black accents, and this is arguably the most aesthetically pleasing of the bunch as well. Dunkbar reports these are available at a few European retailers, but prepare to pay a bit of a premium if you purchase from Partizan, Wind-Sports or Greenhill.

A few days back, we gave you a look at a new version of the Nike Zoom Kobe IV inspired by the Duke Blue Devils, one of the most storied college basketball programs in the game. The next piece in this upcoming Kobe IV college/high school pack pays tribute to one of the nation’s top college football schools. The USC Trojans, who have a solid basketball program as well, will be honored with this cardinal and gold edition of the Kobe IV. Like the Duke sneaker, in addition to adopting the school’s color scheme, the team logo is embroidered into the heel. With the NCAA tournament looming, expect these to hit House of Hoops in the coming weeks. via SoleCollector.

With all the hype surrounding the Hyperdunk and Hypermax, the Huarache ’09 has been slightly overshadowed, but this version will surely remind people of its presence. The black and red upper is accented by a white Swoosh and Nike logo on the ankle, with a strip of metallic silver on the upper section of the midsole. The Huarache ’09 not only looks great in this color scheme, but it’s also an elite performance basketball sneaker. Look for these at select Nike Basketball retailers now including Saltur Footwear and soon on nikestore.com.

Hybrids have been around longer than most people think. Back in 1982, Converse released the Marine-Sea Crisp, combining a sneaker and a boat shoe into the best of both worlds. Following their recent trend of retro drops, Converse has re-released the shoe in four new colorways. Blue, yellow and pink versions feature solid uppers with white midsoles and laces and a nice checkered lining. There is also an all white version not pictured. All four colors are available now at Flauge. via Hypebeast.

The newest Nike Dunk High for Big Kids (GS) is this Premium ND version of the Dunk in a White patent leather base with a variety of colors that cover the other parts of the shoe. The shoe laces come in a Rainbow colorway, meaning different parts of it are different colors and it looks great against the White and multicolored leather base of the shoe. The best part of the shoe though is the Ice outsole that has a multicolored graphic underneath the Ice outsole that outlines all of the different crevasses of the Dunk’s outsole. You can pick this Big Kids Dunk High Premium now at select Nike retailers as well as LTD-Online.

Wow is the only word that comes to mind as we get a look at the launch party that got away. The Air Jordan 2009 launch ceremony that took place in Korea last weekend was a Jordan fan dream come true. The location was filled with a wall to wall exhibition of one of the most jaw-dropping collections of Air Jordan sneakers ever seen in one room. To add to the overwhelming visual stimulation all around, the standout attractions had to be what appear to be some laser-printed Air Jordan X’s and our first ever look at a striking new white/black/varsity red colorway of the Air Jordan 2009. It hurts to know that most of us didn’t get to see this in person, but the pics after the jump are the next best thing. via kenlu.

The Spring 2009 collection of Nike Sportswear Dunk’s was inspired by Nike’s ACG history and specifically the Safari Print, now here is the latest Dunk to be released by Nike Sportswear and this particular pair comes to us in a high cut and features a simple color combination of Black, Varsity Royal, and White. While the colors might seem a bit simple for some, most of you will notice the Safari Print along the upper of the entire shoe, however it’s subtle enough due to the tonal application on the Black leather. Pick these up now at select Nike Sportswear retailers including nikestore.com.
