The Air Jordan Force VI (AJF 6), like nearly all fusions (and frankly, anything new from Jordan Brand) has been highly polarizing. Overall, it seems like the walnut AJF 6 are getting more attention, probably because they’re quite unique and are only available for Air Jordan Flight Club members. Your author is feelin’ both pairs, especially the contrast lacing on the image above. When it comes down to it, it’s up to you to decide, and we have some excellent pics of the ‘other’ pair. We found these pics along with a little inside info: the electrolime colourway is still set for a February 21 release, but Vault has em now! Take a look, then hit them up for the kicks and some fresh matching accessories (G-Shock, anyone?)

People commonly think of rockstars as fashion innovators, but it’s usually the lesser known folks surrounding the scene who actually set those trends (think NitroLicious … and we thank them for the pics). LA-based artist and tastemaker extraordinairre Kime Buzzelli represents the latter, having lived above her Show Pony exhibition space in Echo Park, CA since its establishment in 2000. The lady Off the Wall calls “The Coolest Girl Ever” designed two new pairs of Vans Wellesly models with women in mind. The teal and black leather uppers are laid over a CYMK-based design that’s sure to be among the hottest looks for the gurls this summer when they drop on June 1, 2009.

There’s no question Vans is killin’ it right now, and while they helped set the hightop skate shoe trend, it’s also indubitable that Supra took the craze to new heights. Most of the Supra Skytops we’ve seen thus far have been general releases, but you can only get the latest edition of Chad Muska’s pro model from one place. The silver and grey upper features a purple wing, evoking the prestige of platinum and royalty. If you feel like being the king of your block (at least until your friends find em too), you can cop these now, only at Zumiez. Via DailyDrop

We’ve been aware of the Solebox collaboration with Puma since last October, and though a video previewing what would be the key feature surfaced in December, no pictures have been leaked confirming the flashing laces. With the new shots today, we have a better look at what to expect from the April 18th release, but still no visuals on those LA-gear like shoestrings. Whether this is a masterful job of viral marketing the Puma R698 or just an axed component remains to be seen, but the same electric blue that lit up those aforementioned laces runs the length of the sole. This leads us to believe that the laces are in for the long haul, but you’ll have to check back with Sneaker News for more info as the release approaches. Via NiceKicks

Vans has really been on point lately, bringing a slew of hot releases to your feet in 2009. This Mt. High pack keeps the heat coming with three new monochromatic colorways. Scuba blue, buttercup yellow and metallic silver will grace the satin uppers of this intriguing new collection. The blue and yellow versions have a solid lining to match the upper, while the silver shoe has a red printed pattern inside the ankle. The Mt. Edition High is an underappreciated sneaker, but hopefully this pack will bring it back to the limelight. Available now at Essence.

From a band whose personae were larger than their stadium-packing tunes to these metal gods who crammed an coliseum’s worth of audio into their less-crowded shows, the Vans Sk8-Hi keeps on rockin’. The faint of heart need not apply here; one of thrash metal’s finest acts is repped in all their gory glory. Unmistakably Slayer, this edition of Off the Wall’s classic hightop features the band’s signature sword-laden pentagram on the side panels, laid over the watchful eye of a militant eagle. Maybe not the best buy for Bible Belt-based sneakerheads, but there’s a certain ‘Undisputed Attitude’ some will find in ‘Show[ing] No Mercy’. As for their availability, only ‘Divine Intervention’ can stop you from copping at Grab.

No one can accuse Vans of not having fun. This latest collection keeps the wackiness rolling with watermelon versions of the Era, Slip-On and Chukka in women’s sizes. The uppers of all three are a delicious pink canvas with black printed seeds. Further staying true to the look of the summertime treat, the midsoles are green like the fruit’s outer rind with a white rim dividing them from the pink. If you’re mouth is watering, you only have to wait until March for these. In case watermelon is not your fruit of choice, Vans will reportedly be releasing other fruit-inspired packs down the road. via Hypebeast.

With all the amazing releases from their high-end Vault collection, it’s easy to see that barring a terrible faux pas from the ankles up, rocking Vans marks you as ‘Dressed to Kill’. Not from Vault, but taking the expression seriously is the newest Kiss-inspired Sk8-Hi. Featuring lead singer Ace Frehley and bassist Gene Simmons rocking stylish suits on the side panels, these joints are an irreverent take on high fashion. If you feel like rockin’ these all night, head over to Grip.

The last ERS 5000 we saw was a partyin’ fool: a Mardi Gras-inspired do-up released on New Year’s Day 2009. Keeping with the hedonistic vibe, the latest edition is a take on one of the most notorious party girls ever: Marilyn Monroe. To be more precise, the faux-croc, leather and nylon runner is a take off on Andy Warhol’s 1962 piece “Gold Marilyn”. Appearing in the same gold, pink and teal hues found on the aforementioned silkscreening, this Reebok ERS 5000 is limited to 200 pairs worldwide. Act fast and you can cop yours from RZOstore. We’ve noted on more than one occasion that the Vans Vault collection is cranking out new kicks with inordinately high quality, and that streak shows no signs of slowing. All of your favorites are here in the Spring/Summer 2009 set: the Sk8 models at all three heights, Half Cabs and Authentics just to name a few. We have pics of around a hundred pairs (!) and all of them have been given special treatment that simply speaks for itself. The Bad Brains Chukkas we showed you earlier are here for the show and we can only hope the Vault collection exhibits similar longevity. Check out the Vans Vault website for release dates as some are already available (click “Dealers”) and others will drop in the coming months. Pics via HB

This fall, Nike will be releasing a special pack that pays tribute to the helmets of some of the nation’s most legendary college football teams. This Nike Vandal High is inspired by the program with the most wins in NCAA Division 1-A history, the Michigan Wolverines. The upper features the iconic maize winged stripes that have covered Michigan’s helmets since 1938 and is constructed from super shiny materials that resemble the helmet’s sheen. The navy ankle strap features the number 72, possibly a nod to the origin of the Swoosh or maybe some piece of Michigan history. Look for these some time this fall, joined by a few more Nike sneakers honoring other classic college football helmets. Thanks again to J. Gibson for the photo.
