Nike Air Force 1 LeBron James Friends & Family

Nike Basketball may be the driving force behind making the LeBron James name an icon among sneaker heads, but there is another set of shoes that are just as important to LeBron’s sole-status.  Air Force 1s that have been created especially for King James by Nike Sportswear over the years have just as much influence over sneaker collectors as do the kicks he wears on the court.  If you don’t remember, a special edition Saturday Night Live x LeBron James AF1 sold for around $2500 a couple months ago, solidifying the value of the basketball superstar’s mark on kicks of all types.

Here’s an Air Force 1 designed for LeBron and his circle of friends two years back but just started making rounds on the web again. The shoe’s upper is covered, nearly seamlessly, in supply, brown leather held together by brown stitching.  The sole consists of white stitching on the mid-sole along with white paint on the “AIR” symbol to offset the light brown color of the out-sole.  One more mark of LeBron is located on the in-sole and comes in the form of a crown to mark his royalty on the realm of the NBA. Unfortunately, as is the case with the majority of LeBron AF1s, these only released as a friends and family and the only pair that made it to Ebay was snatched up in an instant.  Pictures via zach13g

Puma x Sergio Rossi Fall/Winter 2009 Mens Collection

Last month, we gave you a preview of the memorable upcoming Puma x Sergio Rossi women’s collection, and it was only a matter of time before we saw what they had in store for the men. It seems that the collaborators kept things very simple with the men’s collection, opting for solid monochromatic colorways. Several versions of the Clyde and First Round will be available in different premium materials such as smooth leather, patent and suede. Black, white and dark grey colors dominate the line-up, giving it a clean and classy aesthetic. Like the women’s collection, all the sneakers feature Rossi’s logo beside Puma’s on the upper.  Be on the look out for these later in the year. via HighSnobiety.

Lil Penny (Figure) in New York

Just when we thought Lil Penny had finally started to keep a low profile, he stormed back on the scene, appearing all over the Big Apple last week. It seems that the little guy couldn’t stay out of the spotlight as he tore it up courtside at the Knicks game and hit some hot nightlife spots. He also took some time out of his busy schedule to oversee the goings-on at the Nike Sportswear 21 Mercer store. Lil Penny stopped in to hang out, design an Air Force 1 and mingle with some of his adoring fans. This is no doubt just a warm up to the publicity blizzard he will have to endure in ’09 as the Penny II, III and 1/2 Cent are all set to be released in multiple colorways. Be sure to check out Lil Penny showing his versatility in these pics by rocking a pair of white on white lil’ Air Force 1′s rather than one of his own signature models.

Vans Snakeskin Leather Pack

For anyone out there who has been forced to trade their days of skateboarding for an office job, now you can rep your skate style at work without it looking out of place. Vans has just released two of their classic models in brown synthetic snakeskin leather editions. The Sk8-Hi and Slip-On have received luxury makeovers that transform them into something that could be easily mistaken for a high-end dress shoe. This is particularly true in the case of the Slip-On, which adds nice black accents to the brown snakeskin, really giving it a dressy look.  The Sk8-Hi is built a little more for casual wear thanks to its white midsole. Snatch your opportunity to show off your skate roots next time you go somewhere nice by getting over to Ripe now. via Hypebeast.

If you just can’t get enough ’09 All-Star PE’s, here’s one more for you. The Nike Zoom MVP Trash Talk has been re-colored in a Western All-Star colorway for one of the NBA’s premier point guards, Steve Nash. Nash will be repping the desert in his home city of Phoenix at All-Star Weekend with this white/red/gold edition of his shoe. Nike Zoom Kobe IV Black White Del Sol

Yesterday, we brought you the All Star version of the Nike Zoom Kobe IV.  Kobe is headed back to the NBA’s midseason exhibition for the 11th time and there’s a reason why he’s been considered one of, if not the best player in the League during his 13 years of experience.  One week ago, we got a glimpse at his genius when the Black Mamba broke Michael Jordan’s visitor scoring record at Madison Square Garden, dropping 61 en route to stomping the hometown Knicks.  Kobe certainly seized that day, but it was Trevor Ariza and not Bryant rocking the “Carpe Diem” colourway of KB’s lowcut kicks.  Instead, Kobe opted for the new “Del Sol” do-up, a black and white take on the Flywire equipped court kick.  Accented with ‘del sol’ (think gold) touches, the look is finished with black faux-snakeskin on the toe that was added since the first look at this edition.  We may never see another performance like that again, so you can commemorate the moment by grabbing these from NikeStore.

Nike Zoom LeBron VI Fairfax PE

Fairfax High School in Los Angeles is one of the three lucky high schools sponsored by Nike LeBron and the students fortunate and skilled enough to make it onto the Fairfax HS basketball team got caught sporting dope Nike Zoom LeBron VI player exclusives styled in their school colorway a while back.  Even though he didn’t succeed in mantaining his team’s undefeated home record, the PEs (signed by the man himself) LeBron was wearing were looking mighty fresh.

Proving his dedication to sponsoring high school basketball, LeBron decided to rock a home version of the VI in the Fairfax HS school colors.  The shoe was done up in a white/red – yellow colorway styled with a white mid-sole and mostly white upper.  Red and yellow is used to color the out-sole, which matches the red, patent leather swoosh and the red heel/ankle/tongue all accented by yellow.  There is no word on whether these clean PEs will make it to any sort of retail area so fo now, go ahead and enjoy the pictures below.  Thanks to Yahoo Sports for the photos.

Air Jordan 1 Black White Polka Dot

Beginning with the Air Jordan I/XXII Countdown Pack that came out last year, we have seen a resurgence of something Jordan heads have been hoping would make it’s way back to retail shelves: the Air Jordan I High as opposed to the retro Mids we have seen a lot of over the past couple years.

2009 is looking like a good year for all of those who have been dying to get their hands on some true Air Jordan I highs, but it seems as though Jordan Brand can’t help but sneak in a couple Air Jordan I Mids.  Here we have an Air Jordan I Mid that looks strikingly similar to the Air Jordan I Phat Lows we saw a couple months back.  Joining the recent Air Jordan I Retro High with generous use of patent leather is this Mid that shys away from typical Air Jordan themes.  This Mid features black patent leather with white polka dots covering everything except for the mid-panel, top of the toe-box and the area around the heel (which are all adorned with black nubuck).  No information has surfaced regarding the specific release details of these Air Jordan I Mids, but a couple sizes are available now at Marquee Sole.
