It looks like Chef of GourmetKickz is at it again with a new release recently posted on his site that seems to take a bit of a religious tone. GourmetKickz has long been known to use fabrics in new and unique ways, placing emphasis on patterns and designs rather than trying to duplicate artwork by hand. By focusing on the overall construction and balance of the shoe he has been able to keep his price point competitive in this harsh market and still produce a beautiful high quality custom. The masterful dish you see above is called “Before HeRose” and there is quite a play on words with deeper meaning tucked into the title. We won’t go into too much depth about what the title means exactly, but we will say that this shoe comes at a great time as Easter is quickly creeping up on the calendar. Chef has a great explanation of the back story on his site that you can check out here.
Chef makes great use of the skull and rose fabric and ties it together with a great rose colored paint job and some gold foil fabric. The rear of the sneaker is covered in fabric in a seamless fashion uniting the heel and middle panels of the AF1 for an uninterrupted view of the skull and roses imagery. These GourmetKickz also come complete with custom matching insoles! You can cop your self a pair of the above version, called the “charred #1″ style, at GourmetKickz site. And according to his story on these kickz Chef will cook these up in any way ranging from Rare to Charred, with prices ranging from an affordable $210 to $305 respectively. There is no word on how of these Chef will cook, but judging from the options he offers on his KickzCreator, there is a good chance that every pair could be a 1 of a kind!

The Nike Zoom Kobe IV School Series keeps rolling with this latest version, inspired by Philadelphia area Lower Merion High School. While playing his senior year at Lower Merion, Kobe put up some ridiculous stat-lines en route to a state title and was named USA Today and Parade Magazine’s Player of the Year. The Kobe IV will pay tribute to the team with this Lower Merion Aces version of the shoe. It adopts the school’s crimson and white color scheme with sections of patent leather and features the team logo on the upper heel. Look for these to hit House of Hoops some time next month. via SoleCollector.

For a design that’s thirty years old, the looks of the New Balance U455J have held up pretty well. When they were originally released in 1979, they sported a new improved suede/nylon upper that was intended for better durability and outdoor performance. New Balance has brought this classic back in three vintage-looking colorways to help celebrate the shoe’s 30th birthday. Brown/tan/yellow, red/tan/white and grey/blue/white versions are available now at Flauge. via Hypebeast.

The lines between rock fashion and street style have never been so blurred as they currently are right now. Last year, Nike brought the two closer with their black studded Supreme Rock & Roll pack, featuring premium editions of the Terminator High and Vandal High with a heavy metal makeover. The concept is back again for both models, but this time it will be in white leather instead. Check out these pics of the Vandal High and notice the white on white studded leather pattern on the upper and very metal silver studs that line the ankle strap. This version also features a metallic silver midsole, mesh toebox, an AC/DC-style Nike logo on the strap and a special Vandal tongue label. Take your rocker style to the next level with these or the white Terminators some time this April at select Nike accounts. via nitrolicious.

Here’s another closer look at the Orchard Street for Reebok collection for Spring 2009. This time, it’s the Reebok Pump Omni Hex Ride. Something of an update of what are known on the streets as the ‘Dee Browns’, this modern basketball kick has been designed with early 90′s streetball culture in mind. Have a gander at the detailed pics provided by Freshness, then head over to the OS e-store to cop your own pair.
