The Nike Zoom Kobe IV School Series keeps rolling with this latest version, inspired by Philadelphia area Lower Merion High School. While playing his senior year at Lower Merion, Kobe put up some ridiculous stat-lines en route to a state title and was named USA Today and Parade Magazine’s Player of the Year. The Kobe IV will pay tribute to the team with this Lower Merion Aces version of the shoe. It adopts the school’s crimson and white color scheme with sections of patent leather and features the team logo on the upper heel. Look for these to hit House of Hoops some time next month. via SoleCollector.

For a design that’s thirty years old, the looks of the New Balance U455J have held up pretty well. When they were originally released in 1979, they sported a new improved suede/nylon upper that was intended for better durability and outdoor performance. New Balance has brought this classic back in three vintage-looking colorways to help celebrate the shoe’s 30th birthday. Brown/tan/yellow, red/tan/white and grey/blue/white versions are available now at Flauge. via Hypebeast.

The lines between rock fashion and street style have never been so blurred as they currently are right now. Last year, Nike brought the two closer with their black studded Supreme Rock & Roll pack, featuring premium editions of the Terminator High and Vandal High with a heavy metal makeover. The concept is back again for both models, but this time it will be in white leather instead. Check out these pics of the Vandal High and notice the white on white studded leather pattern on the upper and very metal silver studs that line the ankle strap. This version also features a metallic silver midsole, mesh toebox, an AC/DC-style Nike logo on the strap and a special Vandal tongue label. Take your rocker style to the next level with these or the white Terminators some time this April at select Nike accounts. via nitrolicious.

Here’s another closer look at the Orchard Street for Reebok collection for Spring 2009. This time, it’s the Reebok Pump Omni Hex Ride. Something of an update of what are known on the streets as the ‘Dee Browns’, this modern basketball kick has been designed with early 90′s streetball culture in mind. Have a gander at the detailed pics provided by Freshness, then head over to the OS e-store to cop your own pair.

We showed you these joints early last week, and now our fam over at Freshness hooked us up with some detailed shots. The Orchard Street streetwear boutique (Orchard Street by name, Orchard Street by location) got together with Reebok to put their spin on a pack for Spring 2009. Key among these is the Reebok Re-Up Lux. Immediately distinguished by their asymmetrical lacing, these rock a quilted grid on the side panels. Throw in a purple sole on the left and a teal bottom on the right and these achieve balance through imbalance. Sounds complicated, but once you click the jump to see the other pics, it’ll all become clear. If you like what you see, cop em from Orchard Street’s online store.

The Alife Shell Toe model is a shoe Alife thought up that incorporated some very popular design cues that can be seen in other brands’ sneakers. Keeping the shoe fresh and on the minds of their fans, Alife has released two new colorways of the shoe that should pluck a heartstring in those of you who are aficionados of all things Alife. The shoe consists of a shell toe that you may recognize from some classic soccer shoes as well as a ridged ankle that brings up images of popular skate shoes. Two colorways, purple and chocolate, have been introduced to the two new pairs of the Alife Shell Toe in all suede uppers and white soles. A patch with a relatively ornate “A” [for Alife] can be found on both pairs on the lower heel, giving the shoes that unique vibe that makes Alife such a great brand. Look for these at Alife retailers now, including one of DC’s favorite shops: Major.

Vans pro rider Anthony Van England is coming off of an epic skateboard video part in the new Alien Workshop ‘Mind Field’ DVD that took years to make. His third Vans signature model the AV3 attempts to live up to the same expectations. The silhouette of the sneaker is reminiscent of a vintage athletic sneaker. The uppers use a combination of leather and suede. The suede wraps around the toe box, eye stay, and heel and promises to stand up to skateboarding abuse. The side panel features a unique jagged cut Vans side stripe. Anthony Van England’s logo is featured on the heel and tongue and ‘AV3′ is embroidered on the heel tab. The unusual white mid sole houses the classic Vans waffle sole. Four brand new colorways have released for Spring; Black/White, Grey/Black, Orange/White, and Green/Black and are available now on the Vans Online Store. Info: CtotheJL

The Nike SB Blazer is getting quite a bit of attention lately. Most recently has been the Chicago Blazer designed by Stevie “Dread” Snyder, and we all know how dope those Optical Illusion joints are. Perhaps the first step in this movement was the ultra-rare Made for Skate edition released in a scant 24 pair collection in commemoration of Nike SB’s book by the same name. The book sought to immortalize the golden era of skateboarding, particularly the footwear. Now it’s time for a tour, and the authors are bringing an exhibit of the beat up shoes that got it all started to a city near you.
Not only do you get to see the original 1979 Hobie hightops that inspired the design of the Made for Skate Blazers, but there’s a ton of others ranging from Airwalks to the early SB Dunks. Take a look at all the pics after the jump and be sure to make it to one of the remaining tour dates if you’re nearby. Thanks, NikeSB.org

In some sense, the original lifestyle sneaker, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars was born in 1917 as a basketball shoe. With the advent of new technologies, they haven’t seen much action on the courts since ‘Pistol’ Pete Marovich hung his up in the 70′s. Since then, we’ve seen Converse churn out simple colourways, and more recently spice things up with new palettes and collaborations. With over eight billion (8,000,000,000+ !) pairs sold as of 2005, it’s nice to have a new twist every now and then. This pack features perfect-for-spring Madras plaid accents on white or brown pairs. Both colours are available in high and lowtop versions, so you’ll have plenty of choice when you cop them from ripe.
