New Balance A20 Boot Native American Inspired Fall 2009

Last week, Singapore boutique Limited Edt Vault held a promo showing in advance of their stock of the New Balance MTG580 Gore-Tex Outdoor Jacket Pack.  On display were the aforementioned water-repellent kicks, an archive of the realmad HECTIC x mita collabos and a ton of new kicks.  In the first of several posts today detailing the samples, we have here the New Balance A20 boot.  We saw this moccasin-toed boot based on the P580 basketball sneaker at last year’s Stocklist and now have a better idea of what to expect from the Native American-inspired shoe.  Appearing in a suede upper, the native-evoking stitches, corded laces, laced collar and tongue tag compliment the toe nicely.  These joints will drop this fall, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for updates, including more highly anticipated New Balance releases from the Ltd Ed Vault event.  via STREEThing//edited by Sneaker News

Nike Zoom FP (Fun Police) Black/Chrome Varsity Royal

The Nike ‘Fun Police’ advertising campaign included young stars from 1998 like Kevin Garnett, Jason Kidd, Gary Payton and even the aging Tim Hardaway.  Perhaps the funniest part of the FP was their inclusion of Tom Gugliotta and NBA legend Moses Malone to round out the bunch.  An enjoyable campaign all around, the Fun Police rolled up on unsuspecting ballers, ensuring that they were playing the ‘right way’.  A decade later, Nike commemorates this group with the Nike Zoom FP (Fun Police) basketball shoe.

Prominently featuring elements from the Air Garnett III, Kidd’s Zoom Flight series and less prominently from Hardaway’s T-Bug along with the Zoom Glove series, the Zoom FP is a clear throwback to the late nineties.  Available in a black and varsity royal pair or a white pair with metallic silver accents, both feature a dope atom-inspired outsole.  Both pairs are available now at NikeStore, so be sure to avoid pullin’ a Cherokee Parks and find some shorts of suitable length.

Undefeated x New Balance 580 Full Metal Jacket

Two brands that know a thing or two about sneaker collaborations have teamed up for an exciting new venture. Sneaker heavyweights Undefeated and New Balance have come together to create a cool Full Metal Jacket-themed New Balance 580 pack. Three different colorways pay tribute to the classic 1987 Stanley Kubrick film, using a camouflage lining and insert, barbwire fence graphics on the midsole and a military-inspired tongue label. The most noticeable touch, however, is the actual “full metal jacket” effect conveyed by the metallic silver, gold and black colorways. All three sport premium perforated leather uppers, as well as red laces and accents and a cool UNDFTD lace lock.  Look for these to be released  exclusively at Undefeated shops in the U.S. and Japan in late April. Reebok Womens Top Down

Reebok will be releasing a new retro inspired model specifically for the females soon, the shoe is called the Reebok Women’s Top Down, and will come in a variety of colors. The shoe itself will feature a canvas upper and a vulcanized outsole. The reason for the name “Top Down” though is because both the tongue and ankle wrap can be folded down to give the shoe a completely different look. When the shoe is rolled down the Reebok logo is hidden while a colorful graphic is displayed on the heel giving female sneakerheads a look of their own. via Sneaker Freaker

Nike Zoom LeBron Ambassador II Cavaliers + SVSM

The Air Jordan line started producing lowtops of the popular Air Jordan XI back in summer 1996, and each subsequent release has seen a lower cut version for the warmer months.  Taking this a step further, Nike released the Zoom LeBron 20-5-5 and shifted the secondary shoe to its current Zoom LeBron Soldier moniker upon King James’ second playoff appearance in 2007.  We expected last summer’s Nike Zoom LeBron Ambassador to be a one-off affair, specially for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but these photos seem to prove otherwise.

Appearing in two white pairs, one inspired by the Cleveland Cavaliers’ colours and another in reference to his high school alma mater, the Nike Zoom LeBron Ambassador II represents the unprecedented continuation of the Zoom LeBron line into three distinct models.  Throw in the lowcut LeBron VI, and James Gang fans have a ton to look forward to in the near future.  The exact release and any other details are unclear at this point, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for updates.  via NikeLeBron // edited by Sneaker News

Nike SB Dunk Low Premium White Bone Black Gum

The latest Nike SB Dunks have been decried for depicting the lack of what had been a signature element: the puffy tongue.  Speculation abounds as to whether these pictures are just samples or if Nike is using a new, superiour cushioning system.  Either way, the latest lowcut from Beaverton’s skate division is a real throwback.  Featuring the beloved puffy tongue and perforations on the toe and side panels that evoke 2005′s Gino Iannucci-designed ‘Band Aids’, the Nike SB Dunk Low Premium pictured above looks to be a hit for the coming warmth.  The perforated sections, tongue, midsole and collar are done in white with bone-coloured leather offering a tonal accent.  Whether this represents a reversion to the puffy tongue is a mystery, but these gumsoled beauties are available for pre-order with a March 28th release from Arktz.  They’re likely to sell out, so you can also try Chapter or Breaker.
