The Air Max 90 Current Flywire was launched last year prior to the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and was only offered at select retailers such as 21 Mercer Street but now almost a year later the shoe will be released again in a couple new colorways and a couple colorways that were released last year. The two new colorways include an all over Black colorway as well as an all over Red colorway while the two old colorways include one that we’ve already shown you in Black and Varsity Red with the other being Black and Varsity Blue. The Air Max 90 Current Flywire will be released at select Nike Sportswear retailers in the upcoming weeks. via Hypebeast

Though the early draft entry trend that picked up steam in the mid-90s has continued and diluted the overall collection of talent in NCAA men’s basketball, we have memories of a ton of great teams from yesteryear that stayed together for several years. Key among those was the high-flying ‘Phi Slamma Jamma’ crew that made three Final Fours between 1982 and ’84.
Though they never won a championship and were victim to the Cinderella NC State team that won on a miracle alley-oop in 1983, this group is still widely remembered for exhibiting athleticism well beyond their era. Key Slamma Jammas Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler reunited with the Houston Rockets in 1995, leading the Rockets to Olajuwon’s second straight NBA championship.
As for the shoes, they’re a throwback to the hardwood fraternity, as evinced by the Greek letter Phi, LeBron’s Dunkman insignia and a backboard representing their three letters of unity. Red, black and white plaid on the side panels honouring Coach Guy Lewis contrasts the red and white leather that make up the rest of the upper, while a college-styled ‘Nike’ on the heel adds a subtle twist on the Big Nike design. The first House of Hoops exclusive to draw inspiration from college players rather than NBA legends, these joints will probably drop at Foot Locker‘s specialty stores well after March Madness has drawn to a close. Stay tuned to Sneaker News for updates.

If you are totally sick of Nike hybrid models by now, you may want to look away, but don’t be so quick to dismiss these until you take a closer look. Tennis great, Andre Agassi’s shoe, the Nike Air Tech Challenge was one of Nike’s hottest models back in the late 80′s and early 90′s and was even embraced by those with no appreciation whatsoever for tennis. There were four Air Tech Challenge models released between 1989 and 1992 and now the most recognizable attributes of each have all been combined into one shoe that pays homage to the entire line.
We showed you another colorway of the Air Tech Challenge Hybrid a few months back, but this one seems to do it even more justice in terms of trying to capture the look of all four. You can immediately pick out the Lava graphics from the ATC II, the wavy Volt Yellow section from the ATC III and the wildly colorful heel from the ATC IV, but you’ll have to look closer to find other retro inclusions in this hybrid design. If these summon up instant nostalgia for you the way they do for us, these are available right now on eBay.

With all the hoopla surrounding Nate Robinson’s stupendous Kryptonate kicks, now is a great time to see some new kicks with Nike’s injected foam Posite construction. Here we see the Nike Skyposite for the first time in two basic colourways. The varsity royal and black pair reminds one of the recent Air 1/2 (Half) Cent, while the black pair accented with anthracite features diagonal striping reminiscent of the Air Jordan 2009. Both pairs feature a silhouette quite similar to Kevin Durant’s signature Nike, the KD1, while departing from this design in their use of LunarLite cushioning in the forefoot. The Zoom Air heel cushion and herringbone outsole should provide for great on-court feel when these drop later this year. Keep it locked to Sneaker News for updates and be sure to catch Nate Robinson on the Late Show with David Letterman tonight. via NT, edited by Sneaker News

Last week, we gave you a sneak preview of this Nike Air Max 1 and the Quickstrike Microstripe pack that it is a part of, and now we present some detailed images of this super-fresh springtime release. These kicks feature a canvas upper, completely covered by thinly spaced University Blue stripes over a white base. The pattern changes slightly on the toe box and around the ankle with the lines becoming much finer, creating a more solid appearance on those sections in the process. White accents are incorporated on the Swoosh, midsole, lining and laces, with a classic gum outsole supplying a final style touch. Look for these now at Nike Quickstrike accounts but also at nikestore.com.

We’ve already shown you the two men’s styles from the “Pro-Keds for Jeffrey” collaboration, but don’t worry ladies. There will, of course, be something for the women too. The Keds Champion Oxford provides some fun, colorful options for female feet this spring, offering the simple, classic style in four new colorways. The Champion Oxford will be available in vibrant shades of green, orange and yellow, with a more subtle navy version rounding out the collection. All four come in solid suede uppers with clean white midsoles and laces and feature a “Keds for Jeffrey” label on the insole. These will be arriving at Jeffrey along with the two men’s models on April 1st. via Freshness.

With so many extra-high cut sneakers enjoying such immense popularity at the moment, Pro-Keds will join in the fun with their Royal Master Super High. Like the CVO Royal Slip-On that we showed you earlier, these kicks have been created exclusively for Pro-Keds’ collaboration with upscale shop, Jeffrey. Unlike the flashier high-tops offered by other brands, the Royal Master Super High features a more conservative back-to-basics approach, while still managing to pack an impressive style punch as well. White and black colorways will be available, both with an entirely monochromatic color scheme from the uppers down to the midsoles. Both pairs also feature a zipper for easy on/off and a tongue label that reads “Pro-Keds for Jeffrey.” Like the Slip-On, these will be available exclusively at Jeffrey starting April 1st. via Freshness.

The first Puma Easy Rider we saw had a rugged vintage feel, but these have a decidedly more modern aesthetic. The Puma Easy Rider Trek appears here in the first of two bright colourways (stay tuned to Sneaker News for the other pair later today). This one is the calmer of the set, but still stands out with its yellow lining, bright green laces and touches of these colours on the mid and outsole. A look that exemplifies the emerging growth of spring, these are available now at Sneakers n Stuff.

Legendary sneaker brand, Pro-Keds, has created a special collection of kicks exclusively for high-end New York/Atlanta retailer, Jeffrey. In addition to their reputation for style and selection, Jeffrey is also no stranger to outside collaborations like the recent Red! Collection that they did with Lacoste. The Pro-Keds CVO Royal Slip-On is one of three models that has been remixed for release at the ultra-hip Jeffrey store. The Royal Slip-On features a classic look with solid suede uppers and Pro-Keds’ trademark stripe appearing at the edge of the toe cap. Four colorways, including navy, chocolate, and bright green and orange will be available at Jeffrey beginning April 1st. via Freshness.

Not quite safari, not quite elephant, this new squiggly print featured on two pairs of Terminators earlier today *is* quite satisfying. Here is a new Nike Air Revaderchi Premium ND in the same colourway as the first of those nifty new Terminators. The sock and side panel are their usual elastic nylon and mesh, respectively and the toe is done in grey suede. Aside from the eyelet strap and its rubber bracket, the rest of the entire shoe is covered in this exciting, as yet unnamed pattern. If you’re excited as we are about adding a new texture to the Nike catalogue, you can pre-order these now at Sakura Sports in advance of their April 4th release. Some pics via Fuctard
