We’ve seen how Nike Sportswear is adding a grown-and-sexy twist to Beaverton’s 2009 lineup, and here’s some more clean adult steez. The Nike Post Match appears in two toned-down tonal editions: black or white. Both low profile pairs feature canvas uppers and leather Swooshes atop textured rubber soles. A dignified choice for the coming warm weather, these are both available now at Size?

Nate Robinson greeted fans and loyal sneakerheads on a green St. Patricks day in New York with an appearance at the House of Hoops in Harlem. Some of Nate Robinson’s (and of his Nike Foamposite Kryptonate sneakers) biggest fans waited for several days in front of House of Hoops for a chance to purchase a pair and hit a fever pitch when an announcement of Nate Robinson’s appearance to greet fans yesterday. The line outside although packed, was fairly orderly where each already had a number to get a pair. After a Q&A segment where Nate answered a number of questions on his ‘dunk’ and his sneakers, he spent sometime greeting fans and signing autographs for those who waited. Congrats again to Nate Robinson for the amazing Slam Dunk contest win.

Every year in Jersey City, the Irish and the “Irish for a day” gather on St. Patrick’s Day for a festive parade that happens to march right past renowned sneaker shop, Packer Shoes. This year, Packer decided to go from a spectator to a participant, supplying parade-goers, very fittingly, with the launch of the limited edition House of Pain adidas Campus and some matching green Packer t-shirts. The green suede shoes fit the color scheme of the day nicely, proving to a big hit with the obviously Irish-centric masses, as well as supporting the community with a portion of the day’s sales going to the Jersey City Boy’s and Girl’s Club.
The celebration’s biggest V.I.P., Jersey City’s Mayor Healy, stopped by the store to say hello and wound up walking out with a pair to wear in the parade. Even the Guinness Man gave some love to Packer Shoes and the House of Pain kicks as he marched down Marin Boulevard receiving some serious appreciation from the thirsty crowd. As the parade was winding down, most attendees went down to the event’s longtime headquarters, P.J. Ryan’s Pub, but the boys at Packer went back to begin preparations for next year’s big St. Patrick’s Day drop. Now let’s see which sneaker company steps up.

If the Fresh Water Pack we showed you all earlier today gave you an itch for the pools to open up, these Nike WMNS Aqua Woven NDs have been designed for when the time does come when all you ladies can jump in the water. This new slip-on water shoe from Nike combines elements from the Air Rift, Nike Free and Aqua Sock into one unique slip on that does not fall into the category of your everyday sandal. The Woven ND features a light, rubber sole and a thin, synthetic and elastic upper with a woven texture that is applied to most of the mid-section. The two pictured above will be accompanied by a few other colorways at select Nike retailers beginning April 6th. Big ups to our friends over at Nitrolicious for the pics and info.

All four Consortium partners converged on the Superstar 80s – one of the definitive adidas designs. Having taken a weekend to discuss their projects and this final addition to the debut wave, exist relationships were reinforced and new friendships were forged. Nearly every colour in the spectrum was optioned, but you can always bet on black as a successful choice. By sitting a tone-on-tone black upper, down to the shell, on a pristine white midsole, this is the Superstar at its very best.
The suede 3-Stripes and heeltab are effective, while the use of ultra-tough CORDURA® fabric down to the tongue increases durability and minimizes the scope for scuffs and brasions while remaining surprisingly lightweight. Black-on-black print logos spread cross the left and right heels, ‘REPS’ using an amalgamation of the distinctive store ogo types on the footbed and a collection of five individually branded lace locks, plus a matching drawstring bag, made with the same CORDURA® brand fabric, ups the premium look and feel.

A while back, we did a piece on the Nigo-exclusive Bape decreasers. As most sneakerheads know, it’s hard to keep non-iced kicks free of wrinkles, and decreasers are one of the more popular methods toward that end. The Metal Infused New Balance 420 takes the desire for smooth sneakers a step further, weaving metallic fibers into the nylon toe and side panels, which makes the composite material impervious to visible aging. Atop the ageless nylon are suede toeboxes, side overlays, eyelets and heels. They’re set to drop later this month, so check back with Sneaker News for updates. via NK

First introduced in the 1970s, the Nizza is the epitome of vulcanized simplicity – a staple style thoffers a challenge for anyone looking to rework it. The LimitEditions variation takes the shoe and reworks it in line with its original intent, building on the Nizza’s subculture-hopping versatility in a grey canvas with coordinating toe bumper. Subtly removing and ading details makes all the difference – the lack of foxing stripe bordering the midsole amplifies the base of the shoe, while the matching purple heel tab, lining and branded footbed correlates with the teal top eyelet and branding on the reverse of the tongue for deceptive but effective detail.

Although they were hyped as a East vs. West showdown between Vans loving brands and boutiques, the grey/gold pair we saw yesterday have yet to be co-branded. The pair pictured above is another story, clearly reppin’ the east coast. The 5Boro x Vans Forty-Four Hi is obviously inspired by the NY boutique and its namesakes. Done in black suede with pink accents, the side panels reveal the 5Boro logo, while the individual sections of New York are printed on the tongue and laces. Topping them off are leather Vans stripes and a pigeon on the outer mudguard. These are available now at select Vans retailers including CCS.

To say Sneakersnstuff were having a ‘purple period’ when they sat down to rework the Samba would be an understatement. The training shoe model that’s amassed a devout following from terraces to skte to the everyman just seems to gather momentum decade-by-decade, and with the Nordic team’s decision to alter materials to incorporate a rubberized fabric and heavy amounts of mesh on the upper, means the shape is uniquely bolstered. The colourway, added to this forked-toe favourite makes it even more versatile, with accompanying patterned laces offering a whole-new appearance, while the handwritten tongue lettering and gold embroidered ‘SAMBA’ cut through the monotone perfectly without intruding on the intentionally stark redesign.

Vans Vault has a case of the ‘Young Gunz-s’ (you know, ‘can’t stop, won’t stop’). With even more quality set to drop this month, Vault seems unlikely to similarly slip into the abyss. The Vans Vault Sk8-Hi Cup LX features a comfy cup sole, similar to the ones we saw on those Chukkas a short while back. This is great news to the majorty of Sk8-rockin’ folk out there, who like your author, never actually touch em to the griptape. Topping this sole is a buttery smooth tan leather upper that features a naked Vans stripe in the form of an outline of white stitches. Complex reports these’ll drop before the April showers, so check back with Sneaker News for updates.
