Joe Johnson, 21.1 ppg guard of the Atlanta Hawks and premier Jordan Brand athlete, has not been left out when it came to dreaming up some dope Air Jordan XX3 PEs. In fact, Joe Johnson had four pairs designed exclusively for him, all of which are bound to make you Jordan Heads wish you could go back in time, hone in your bball skills and get on the Jordan Brand bandwagon. Between the black/red colorway (seen above), the white/red colorway (seen after the jump and similar looking to a generally released XX3), the stealth/university blue/red/yellow (designed as an alternate pair for J. Johnson’s All-Star Game performance) and the white/navy/red colorway you have plenty of variety in choosing a favorite Joe Johnson XX3 PE.
Maybe Jordan Brand thought giving Joe Johnson, the marquee guard (and player) on the Atlanta Hawks, four freshly minted pairs of Air Jordan XX3 player exclusives would help lock in their playoff chances. But since the Hawks have become the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference, it seems like the extra PEs couldn’t hurt, but weren’t necessary, so they ended up in the hands of our friends over at OSneaker.

Even though the Air Jordan 2009 is the newest Jordan Signature sneaker to make it out to the courts, it doesn’t mean that the Air Jordan XX3 has been left behind in the minds of Jordan Brand’s designers. Among the ranks of Jordan Brand athletes, Chris Paul is undoubtedly on the forefront, averaging 21 points – 5 rebounds – 11 assists a game as the leading point guard in the NBA. His awe-worthy performance on the court has earned him some of the best Jordan player exclusives we have seen and just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, we have two more Chris Paul XX3s to show you that haven’t even made to CP3′s locker.
The two Air Jordan XX3 Chris Paul PEs come in a black/yellow and turquoise/white/yellow colorways, respectively. Above you see the black/yellow version, which features a yellow out-sole and yellow stitching accenting the rest of the shoe, which is all black. On the lighter, turquoise/white/yellow colorway, white is the dominant color while turquoise is used on the mid-sole and upper’s design pattern accented by subtle, yellow stitching just above the mid-sole. Even though there is no CP3 embroidery, his number “3″ is printed in gold onto the tongue as these were made exclusively for the New Orlean’s Hornets’ superstar and will never be available to the public. However, if you have a couple stacks to drop, check out OSneaker to cop the pair that survived and add it to your PE collection.

In this round of Air Jordan XX3 player exclusives, you know Jordan Brand wouldn’t leave out Carmelo Anthony who you may now as the former NCAA champion who is looking to get his first NBA Championship Ring in the next couple years. Melo gets two XX3 PEs, one in a a Nuggets’ home colorway and the other in an away scheme. The away colorway, seen above, comes in mostly black with university blue accents on the out-sole and the design on the upper’s fabric while yellow stitching lines the area above the mid-sole and up the fin in the back. On the home colorway, seen after the jump, university blue is used in the same fashion as on the Air Jordan XX3 Premier Titanium, which dropped early in 2008. The rest of Melo’s home XX3 is white with yellow and blue accents on the uppers. Apparently, these player exclusives never made it to Melo’s hands so a lucky (well monied) collector can cop one or both of these pairs now at OSneaker.

We don’t frequently showcase toys here on Sneaker News, but we’ll make an exception here for obvious reasons. ‘Crazy’ jack of all trades Michael Lau just released two new vinyl toy collections with MINDstyle. The Michael Lau SK3 x MINDstyle and Michael Lau’s Jordan 049 x 023 x MINDstyle figure sets both feature familiar faces. The former are hilariously ready for a war of simulacrae in white and grey, while the Jordan set features a humorous MJ character rocking a Wizards-like MINDstyle jersey and Washington-coloured low Air Jordan 1s. You can cop either or both at select retailers including De la Barracuda. via FRESHNESS

Nike has been doing some interesting work lately with super-highcut sneakers. This trend continues, albeit with a different goal in mind with the Nike SFB. Under the watchful eye of Tinker Hatfield’s brother Tobie, the Innovation Kitchen cooked up this combat boot-like hybrid in honor of Nike founder Bill Bowerman’s tenure in the US Army. These joints are ready for war with a Sticky Rubber and Natural Motion Cushioning-equipped Free soles. Add in the “puncture and laceration resistant thermoplastic forefoot shield and genuine leather with Kevlar sheath” and these can be considered a serious option for combat officers. Touted as some of the lightest and fastest drying boots on the planet, these represent a modern approach to military footwear. Whether they’ll ever make it to the consumer market or out on the battlefield is uncertain as of this writing, so keep it locked to Sneaker News for updates. via SnkrFrkr

Next up to bat for spring/summer ’09 after the successful launch of Jeremy Scott’s collection for Adidas’ Originals by Originals is Alyasha Owerka-Moore, creator of brands such as Alphanumeric and FiberOps, and a world renowned fashion designer. The inspiration here, as is with everything he does, is a vintage America ’40s and ’50s style. The sneaker is as unique as its name, the Werecat, and designer. One of the most instantly noticeable features is the crepe sole, something you don’t see everyday on an Adidas shoe. That plus the boot styled shape of the shoe to go along with the padded collar gives it a Clarks Wallabee or Timberland Chukka bootesque feel. The unique perforation all over the sneaker is reminiscent of the way wing tip shoes are perforated. These are already available at select online retailers such as Caliroots.

A whole slew of ALIFE’s greatest hits just touched down in the ATL. Standard got a new shipment for late spring that includes some we’ve seen and a few new joints. The Afghan Everybody is here, but this one is a Mid in a darker brown than the hightop we saw earlier. There are a few other Everybodys, including the ‘America’ and a new green mid in buttery leather. Other additions include the Shell Toe in purple, the Court Low in all black and a new model: the Public Outrage. The latter, pictured above, features a stripe of patterned leather atop the midsole that looks suspiciously like Safari Print. Take a look at the virtual cornucopia of Rivington St. heaters after the jump, then cop any or all of em at Standard.

With March Madness about to kick off, Nike iD is sponsoring a pretty cool tournament of their own. Both V.I.P.’s and regular Joe’s have submitted a ton of Nike iD concoctions at the 21 Mercer store in New York and at the Montalban in Los Angeles in what will become a East Coast vs. West Coast battle of the kicks. Starting tomorrow, 32 Nike iD sneakers designed by 16 V.I.P.’s and 16 lucky sneakerheads who’s designs were selected will begin to face-off in a bracket-style survival of the illest tournament.
Designs will battle it out over the next five weeks, with the championship showdown going down on April 11th. You can begin checking the progress of the Nike iD Royale competition starting tomorrow with the announcement of the 32 finalists. Check out some of the submissions after the jump.

adidas got together with Concepts and House of Pain to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in grand Boston style. CNCPTS is but a stone’s throw away from Harvard University’s Cambridge, Mass campus, but few beyond the most astute sneakerheads remember the Three Stripes model with the same name. The adidas Harvard appears here as part of the Originals collection’s Era Pack 1980s in all black. The tonal application of black suede and leather tops the signature pegged midsole. If you’re up for reppin the Trifoil in a way that few others will immediately recognize, head to your local adidas Originals retailer for this and other retros. via HB
