Junya Wantanabe Comme des Garcons Man SS

It hasn’t been too long since we saw a pack of Vans in simple colourways accented by checkered linings.  The same general description is back, this time in the Junya Wantanabe Comme des Garcons footwear collection for Spring/Summer 2009.  In a canvas lowtop very similar to Off the Wall’s Authentic model, these joints are available in navy blue, black or white.  If you’re looking for something that will fit in yet stand out to the watchful observer, you can cop them now from Hong Kong retailer IT.  via HB

Nike Zoom LeBron VI (6) Summit Lake Hornets Now Available

Not too long ago we showed you Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier II Summit Lake Hornets and the Zoom LeBron VI also inspired by the Hornets but no details were included for the release date. Our friends at Highkickz just received their shipment of the sneakers and they are scheduled for an early March release. The shoe’s coloring includes white, black, purple and green throughout the sneaker with a white, canvas looking upper accented by a mixture of smooth and patent leather on the toe-box along with a patent leather Swoosh bordered by purple.  On the sole, all the colors of the shoe are used in the stitching, out-sole and mid-sole to keep the colors prominent, but tasteful.  The most notable feature of the design seen on this Nike Zoom LeBron VI also happens to be the most subtle; this being the purple hexagonal design around the heel that looks very similar to a honeycomb.  Nike Zoom Kobe IV Splattered Ice Sole

Earlier today, we saw a new pair of Nike Zoom Kobe IVs in the black & red colourway that’s common to Kobe off-season releases.  This new pair is more in the vein of Bryant’s LA Lakers colours.  Appearing in mostly white, these find contrast in the purple laces and speckled translucent sole.  That sole is likely the standout feature of these, adding a popular design element that we’ve not previously seen on Kobe’s fourth signature Nike.  Stay tuned to Sneaker News for more info, including a possible stateside release.  via FootSell

 Reebok Pump Omni Lite GS

The fashion world is making a major push toward subdued colours and textures as a sort of mirror reflecting the global financial crisis.  Reebok is throwing that sort of caution to the wind with these new Pump Omni Lites.  Two new pairs in bright colours are perfect for spring, but they’re just for kids and ladies.  Both sets will find the patterned translucent eyelet-wings on both pairs especially nifty.  If you find yourself with similarly small feet, you can get one or both now from Extra Butter.

Nike Zoom Kobe IV Black Red

Before the notion even reaches your thoughts we’ll just put it out there and prevent any type of fear or hope that this might be a Kobe/LeBron pack coming out with the announcement of the two superstars joining a team with  black/red/white colors…because it is NOT.  The above picture is once someone thought would be a good wallpaper consisting of the recently introduced LeBron Soldier III alongside the Zoom Kobe IV in a black/red colorway that we haven’t yet been able to see in detail.

This Kobe IV comes in a colorway that many people have probably been waiting for: black and red!  In case you think this is just a Nike iD, look at the toe-box and you will see a glossy, semi-sparkly black finish that looks nothing like the usual mamba-shin material.  On the rest of the shoe, black is the main color while red is used to accent parts of the sole and other items such as Kobe’s signature, the Swoosh’s border and the Kobe logo on the tongue.  As there is no release information confirmed for the colorway quite yet, you can 100% count on Sneaker News to keep you posted with the latest.  via Kenlu

Nike Hyperdunk iD March Madness NCAA Team Exclusives

We saw the hilarious March Madness Duke Hyperdunk spot yesterday, and above are a number of Nike Hyperdunks designed by Nike sponsored Universities. Some of the best bets to cut down the nets in Detroit this April are here: Duke, UConn, Gonzaga, Oklahoma, Memphis and Oklahoma. To bring the look full circle each of these six teams went from the backboard to the drawing board by joining NIKEiD for one-of-a-kind shoe design sessions. The student athletes worked closely with NIKEiD designers to create a look that captures the essence of their program. This NIKEiD design sessions marked the first time Nike allowed collegiate teams total control over customizing their own team basketball shoes. The design potential was extensive and players showcased their creativity and team identity. Fans of each school can replicate their team’s design at NIKEiD.com. Check the pics after the jump and get ready for March Madness.

Mita x Frat x New Balance MT576S

Take a look at the second three-way collaboration in the last couple of days from Mita and New Balance. Last Friday, we showed you some images of their collaboration with 24 Karats and now they invited inspiration from Tokyo’s FRAT creative collective for this New Balance MT576S. From a distance, this just appears to be a nice clean white running model, but a closer look reveals some fresh style touches.

In addition to a lavender lining and speckled grey midsole this MT576S flaunts some incredible decorative aspects. The heel and tongue are graced with imagery of the “Shi-mei-nawa” rope pattern and a bamboo rake design to represent FRAT’s Ueno neighborhood. As if that wasn’t enough, these kicks are also constructed with glow-in-the-dark materials, as well as New Balance’s patented ROLL BAR, ENCAP and C-CAP technologies to ensure comfort and performance. Expect these to release April 4th at mita. via Freshness.

Nike Terminator High Basic ND Silver Neon Yellow

On the heels of the wild turquoise/purple Quickstrike edition of the Nike Terminator that we showed you last week, comes a flashy new version that keeps up with the bolder recent rends. The Terminator continues to evolve with an attention-grabbing new spring colorway for the classic basketball model. This latest color scheme features some crisp solid white leather on the majority of the upper, but it’s the metallic silver panels and neon yellow laces that give these kicks their personality. Look for these to drop on April 1st at the 21 Mercer store and select Nike Sportswear retailers. via complex.

New Balance M850 Spring 09

Last month, New Balance fans were delighted to see a colorful new version of the classic M850 and now we get news of three new colorways that will also join New Balance’s spring ’09 collection. Although the design is originally from 1991, the look and performance of the M850 still holds its own with current running models. In addition to the white/pink/teal pair we already showed you will be white/blue/yellow, teal/white/purple and fuchsia/black/white versions, all freshly dipped for the warm weather. All four colorways are hitting New Balance retailers as we speak, so don’t sleep. Check out detailed pics of the teal/purple pair after the jump. via nicekicks.
