New Balance lives and dies by its running shoes, and these joints represent a race that simulates a life or death situation. Imagine being stranded in the Sahara, 150 miles away from civilization. Would you run the whole way? Though the participants divide the course over six days and surely hydrate themselves well along the way, the Marthon des Sables is perhaps the most treacherous trek on two feet. Spanning 151 miles in the Moroccan sands, the rough racing conditions inspired this New Balance M1100 MDS. With a rugged construction and Mowabb-like inner sock, these shoes remain breathable while keeping the sand out. If you plan to play Survivorman anytime soon, consider copping a pair of these from Bingo Runner.

Nike has released an increasing volume of player exclusive (PE) edition kicks lately, and with the start of the NBA Playoffs today, their timing couldn’t be better. Having already seen limited size runs of the Carlos Boozer and Pau Gasol versions, let’s add two more to the ‘other’ playoff pack. The Nike Hypermax appears here in the two versions mentioned above, plus one each for the New Orleans Hornets’ David West and the Miami Heat’s Jermaine O’Neal. Each of the four big men finds their team colours comprising the shoe’s palette, plus a signature logo on the heel. D.West and C.Booz’s kicks come in black, while O’Neal and Gasol’s signature sneakers feature a white base. All four are set to drop at select Nike Basketball retailers soon, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for more information. via Kix-Files

Though the name is seemingly meaningless, we can’t argue with the results. Vans Vault is back with another ‘Lvevl’ Pack, but this time all three kicks are lighter than before. This pack is comprised of a Sk8-Hi, Half Cab and Era-like 46, all appearing in LX-edition premium materials. This trio utilizes a tonal white construction that’s gussied up by metal eyelet hooks (except the 46, which just has metal eyelets at the top), and a layer of 3-D stripes on the signature vulcanized rubber sole. We expect these to drop next month, so stick with Sneaker News for updates. via HS

Doesn’t Nike realize that there are legions of sneakerheads who can’t wait to spend their hard earned dough on the latest Dunk SB’s? Maybe they are playing it smart by spreading their Dunk releases out a little more to create more demand and anticipation, but whatever the impetus, all we know is that when a fresh new Dunk SB hits the shelves, they definitely have our attention. With strong Dunk High SB releases few and far between lately, it’s nice to see that they’ve still got some fresh colorway ideas up their sleeves.
This model features a mostly yellow leather upper with a perforated side panel and a white toe box and white mesh tongue. Black accents can be found on the patent leather Swoosh, as well as the lining, laces and the stitching on the midsole. What really pulls this colorway together though is the red that is used for the tongue label, heel tab and the stitching on the upper heel. Also of note is what appears to be an extra high tongue, which is possibly a new addition to help keep up with the current thirst for super-high cut sneakers. These have just hit stores in Korea and are available now at Choko. It is still unknown if they will be making their way to the U.S., but you know we’ll be staying on top of it and bringing you all the latest news. Via NiceKicks.

Other than the Stubb’s BBQ Skytop, Supra has been relatively quiet lately after a prolific recent stretch of fresh releases and now we finally get a look at what they’ve been cooking up. On the agenda for this coming fall will be two new Skylow 1.5 models, as well as the royal/grey mesh Vaider that we showed you last week. The Skylow 1.5 will be coming at you in at least two new colorways. The first is a solid colored light grey suede version with a very clean look, while the second colorway has a bit more flavor to it. The other Skylow 1.5 comes in “Garden Snake Green” with a light green suede upper contrasted by a darker green snakeskin material that appears on the tongue, heel and the eyelet section. We’ll keep you posted on release info and more looks at Supra’s upcoming fall line-up. Via ifandco.

Before you get too excited thinking that the classic Infrared colorway of the Air Max 90 is back again, these are not quite what you may think at first glance. Although these come pretty close to the long adored classic, there are some slight differences. For one, the Infrared has been replaced by Max Orange, even though the two colors are pretty similar. The other major differences are that the Swoosh on these is Max Orange rather than silver and the top lacing section is also Max Orange instead of black like on the original. Outside of that though, this Air Max 90 gets the same idea across and provides those who keep missing out on the Infrareds with a chance to get the next best thing. We are still waiting for some specific release details on these, but rest assured that you will know as soon as we do. Via jordan8420.

If you are currently gearing up for your prom, or if you’re a bit older, perhaps the summer wedding season, be advised that the Air Jordan 1 Tuxedo Prom Pack will be hitting stores tomorrow. People rocking Air Jordans to proms and weddings is nothing new, but now that Jordan Brand has recognized this common practice, they decided to help everyone to be fresher than ever the next time they are headed to a dressy event. These extra-shiny patent leather Air Jordan 1′s will be available in black and white colorways, both with a touch of red on the tongue and lining. Unfortunately, we all have to get dressed up sometimes, but having the option to sport some Air Jordan 1′s instead of uncomfortable dress shoes is a beautiful thing. Even if you have no fancy social engagements on your schedule, you might want to pick up a pair so that you’re ready when one springs up.
Update: The Air Jordan 1 Phat Low – Prom Pack is only here in the US at the Air Jordan Flight Club.
If you don’t have access to Air Jordan Flight Club, you can also get it off nikestore.com.

The Air Jordan Dub Zero is back in an Air Jordan IV-evoking cement grey colourway. This new release features the classic speckled midsole and applies the steely hue to the laser printed AJXIII-like triangular side panels. The rest of the shoe is white with a few touches of black and just a hint of red on the tongue’s Jumpman embroidery. A nice bright drop for spring, these are set for release tomorrow, April 18 at select Jordan Brand retailers. If you can’t make it out early Saturday morning, you can also cop these from eBay. It’s not often that you can cop a hot pair of kicks and help others while doing it, but here’s your chance. Being that sneakerheads and gamers are often one and the same, Nike’s Sony Playstation 2-inspired Air Force 1 model was a hot commodity when it first dropped in 2005. Now to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the trail-blazing gaming system, Nike is releasing a limited run of only 50 pairs of this shoe to Sony friends and family. We showed you a preview of the Playstation 2 10th Anniversary Air Force 1′s last month and noted some slight differences between the 2005 and 2009 versions, but the bottom line is that they are still looking good and with the limited release, they will likely be more sought after than ever. Choosing to turn their good fortune into good karma, gaming site, Kotaku, has donated the pair that they received to Jennifer Ann’s Group to be sold on eBay with 100% of the proceeds going to the charity. Jennifer Ann’s Group is dedicated to the prevention of teen dating violence and was created in 2006 after an incident that claimed the life of its founder’s daughter. If you wear a size 11.5 or just want to get involved, you can get over to eBay and place a bid with the hopes of scooping up some rare kicks and doing some good in the process.

Last week, we showed you a preview of the upcoming Air Jordan 60+ on the feet of high school basketball powerhouse, Oak Hill Academy, and now a more familiar colorway has emerged. That’s right. The shoe inspired by the Air Jordan models that Michael wore while scoring at least 60 points in games has adopted one of the most beloved Jordan colorways of all time. With the 60+ relying heavily on the design of the Air Jordan V, it makes perfect sense to color it up in in this legendary scheme. The recognizable midsole stays true to the classic style so closely, that at a glance, you might actually think that this is the original Air Jordan V. There is no confirmed information on a release at this time, but stay tuned and we’ll keep you up to date on the latest developments. Via NT.
