If you were torn between going to a few different colleges and you found out that one of them offered a class on sneakers, it might make that decision a little easier for you. It so happens that Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University has a class called Sneakerology 101 that explores various aspects of sneaker culture like sneaker history, marketing, production and more. People are starting to take notice of this forum for higher sneaker education, and now Reebok has become the first company to step up and do a collaboration shoe with Sneakerology 101.
The Reebok Reverse Jam has received a scholarly new makeover with several classroom-inspired elements used in the design. A Slate Nubuck upper serves as the blackboard, with yellow accents representing the chalk and a Wool Felt tongue as the eraser. Additional red accents on the outsole and laces are a nod to Carnegie Mellon’s school colors. The class logo appears on the upper section of the heel with additional Sneakerology 101 shout-outs printed all over the plaid insoles. Fittingly, 101 pairs of these kicks will be available at the Kicksburgh public event that the class has organized for April 15th. Proceeds from the Sneakerology 101 Reebok Reverse Jam will go to the Hill House Association, a local non-profit group that provides educational youth programs in the Pittsburgh area. via Hypebeast.

We have seen a ton of different Blazer variations lately, and because of its simple design, even the bolder ones are still usually more on the conservative side. This latest Blazer Premium SB model seems to go out of its way to stand out from its peers. The shoe features a black/gold color scheme with kiss marks creating a pattern that covers the gold sections of the upper. From a distance, these might look like leopard spots, especially considering the colors, but a closer look reveals that the markings are actually lip prints. Solid black accents and a clean white midsole help to bring balance to the wild pattern, giving the shoe a fun look without going too far over the top. This fresh addition to the SB family is available now at LTD.

We showed you the black ones earlier today, and here is the other part of this new patterned pack. The Nike Womens Dunk High Skinny QS ‘Doves & Butterflies’ pictured above eschews black in favor of pink, but keeps the metallic silver and white accents. Another particularly nice feature of this pair is the mostly-translucent pink outsole. These will drop at the same time as the black ones, but that date is still unannounced as of yet. The Puma Basket might not be as famous as its similar siblings the Clyde and Suede, but there’s little doubt these are the best fit for this pack. The Puma Easter Basket is a play on words that translates well to the lowtop silhouette. We get a pair each in black or white. The white joints have silver and tonal blue accents, while the black ones feature an icey greenish-blue and deep purple. Both favor an Easter egg design in lieu of the Puma logo on the heel tab and should release very soon. via Kenlu

The newly-Skinny Dunk for women is off to a great start, due in large part to some stellar patterned releases. The Nike Dunk High Skinny QS Doves & Butterfly pictured above is part of a pack of two that differ primarily in their base colours. This pair features a black base with metallic silver and white accents, but the real star is the eye-catching pattern on the black upper. Featuring, you guessed it: doves and butterflies, these joints are a whimsical look for spring/summer. They’ll drop at select NSW accounts in about a month, so be sure to check Sneaker News for updates. via SnkrFrkr

The Air Jordan XI is perhaps the single most beloved model of the sneakerhead era. Its patent leather, translucent outsole and carbon fibre inserts are all inspiring kicks to this day. The pair pictured above goes a long way in answering the question, “What if MJ never switched back to number 23?” Billed as “one of the rarest sample XIs ever to be produced”, these joints feature Jordan’s baseball and original comeback number, 45 on the heel. If you can scrape up enough coin, you can join Mike in the hall of fame . . . well, you can at least lay claim to one of the dopest grails imaginable. These are up on eBay with a nearly $3000 high bid, and there’s still over 36 hours left for you to refinance your home or sell your car.
