Puma R698 Mesh Red White Pink

Puma’s R698 model has enjoyed a nice resurgence thanks to the buzz surrounding the upcoming Solebox version and what better time could there be to start dropping new colorways. This new version features a red leather/mesh upper with some tasteful white and pink accents. Additional style touches are added to the shoe by way of a hexagon pattern that covers the pink heel panel and a speckled design on the Puma logo stripe. Besides just looking fresh, the Puma R698 is also a functional and lightweight running model that features Puma’s Trinomic sole system to ensure optimal comfort. These kicks will be limited in quantity, but MajorDC has some in stock right now, so don’t sleep.

Nike Dream Season Kobe Bryant Fall/Winter 09

LeBron James not only has the Zoom LeBron line, but also the Zoom Soldier, so why shouldn’t Kobe get his own secondary signature Nike shoe? You might remember seeing our sneak peek at the Nike Dream Season back in January and now the shoe is officially scheduled to be a part of Nike Basketball’s fall/winter collection. The Dream Season sports a similar design to the Zoom Kobe IV, but there are some obvious differences, most noticeably the absence of Flywire and a much higher cut. Kobe’s logo appears on the tongue and his signature is on the heel in the same spot as on the Zoom Kobe IV. This higher and more rugged style will be available in five colorways for the fall/winter seasons. Black, white, yellow and purple seem to be the prominent colors used, but there is one pair that features a white/red/black color scheme. We’ll keep you posted when more pictures and release information become available. Via Kenlu.

Nike Sportswear Air Rejuven8 Summer 2009

A couple new pairs of Nike Air Wovens dropped last week, but if those aren’t sporty enough for your summer needs, these just might do the trick.  The Nike Sportswear Air Rejuven8 is an eye-catching design already, but these colourways are particularly flattering.  Both pairs feature gradients on the ‘cage’ overlay and both include a black inner sock.  One fades from dark grey to a lighter shade while riding a yellow Free sole, while the other fades from red back to yellow, meeting the ground with white.  These will drop later this season, so stick with Sneaker News for updates.  via HB

fragment design x Nike Air Footscape HF TZ Dark Obsidian White

There has been quite a bit of hype lately surrounding Hiroshi Fujiwara’s latest Nike collaboration. We have already given you a couple of peeks at the upcoming Air Footscape models that Fujiwara designed for Nike Tier Zero and here we have some new images of the navy blue and white pair that has recently been released in Japan. The shoe features a very simple color scheme with a solid navy upper that is wrapped by a white toe and midsole. Other than the futuristic side lacing design, the other notable feature of these kicks is the fragment logo that appears on the heel tab. For now, the Air Footscape HF TZ is only available at select Tier Zero accounts in Asia, but it would not be unthinkable to speculate that they will eventually show up at the Nike Sportswear store at 21 Mercer. As always, we will keep you posted, but if you don’t want to gamble, you can pick up a pair now at onlyonestyle.

Neighborhood Cobra Slip On

Neighborhood ventured out of their old digs in collaborations by releasing their own hightop sneaker earlier this week.  While they’re combining classic designs, why not just issue one in full?  The Neighborhood Cobra Slip-On is in some ways similar to their Cobra Hi sneaker.  They’re black like the big brother, but this time it’s suede instead of leather.  They also share the same half Vans-half Converse sole and their registrered trademark appears on the heel.  Round out your collection now by copping these from Cliff Edge.  via HS

Shaun Neff x Pony Signature Summer 2009

Not satisfied with dominating the snowbarding-inspired headwear niche, Shaun Neff has reached out to Pony to collaborate on a pack of sneakers.  Divided into two parts, these collections both utilize the Pony Signature shoe.  The first three releases remind us of a few recent pairs of ALIFE Everybodys in both the silhouette and use of tumbled leather.  The second trio is an interesting mix of character laden pairs.  The purple, teal and black joints feature the Neff logo (tongue-out face), while the panda-emblazoned pairs are done in silver/red and silver snakeskin/black, respectively.  These joints are set to drop Friday, April 17 at Zumiez.  via SC

Nike Vandal High Supreme EX White Heavy Metal Pack

Often a visionary beyond her years, Missy ‘Misdemeanor’ Elliott can be seen wearing studded punk rock-inspired clothes in videos as far back as 2000.  A few years later, studded belts were a hot trend and several sneaker companies jumped on board with heavy metal designs.  Not to be outdone by last year’s Rock & Roll Pack, Nike has released another Vandal High with aggressive styling.  The Nike Vandal Hi Supreme EX pictured above is the cream to last year’s coffee, done in a white quilted leather upper with a silver midsole.  These joints rock metal eyelets and a studded ankle strap that features ‘NIKE’ in an AC/DC-style script.  Perfect for your every day party this summer, these joints are available now from Size?

Ben Drury x Dizzee Rascal x Nike Air Max 90 Current Boot

We saw just a glimpse of Ben Drury’s design for Dizzee Rascal’s Nike Air Max 90 yesterday, and now we see a few similarly-enigmatic snaps of Ben’s own.  Instead of the classic runner, Drury’s make-up for himself is actually an Air Max 90 Current Boot.  We’ve never seen an Air Max 90 Boot with the Current’s Free sole, and Drury takes the hybrid design even further to the extreme with a metal lace loop and hardcore hiking boot-like laces.  Throw in a woven nylon tongue and these appear ready for the harshest conditions.  As with the others, there’s little info on these, so stick with Sneaker News for updates.  via Ben Drury

Nike Blazer Low Black Trails End Brown Gum

With so much attention paid to the Nike Blazer High and Mid these days, it seems like not too much love is being given to the low model. Thanks to a nice color scheme and some stylish touches, this Blazer Low has a good chance of getting some second looks though. The shoe features a black upper with a light brown Swoosh and accents. The toe section, eyelet panel and lining are constructed from smooth black leather with the remainder of the upper made from suede. The defining aspect of these kicks is the midsole, which sports a black maze-like pattern all over the brown base with a gum toe-cap finishing off the sole. This shoe is evidence that the Nike Blazer Low model needs to start popping up more often, but for now, you can cop a pair of these on eBay. Via SucreamUSA.

New Balance 577 U.S. Release Spring 09

It’s hard to believe that the New Balance 577 has been around for over twenty years and has never been released in the States. When it was originally designed by New Balance UK back in 1988, the 577 was specifically engineered towards “heavy” runners, and even though it still holds up as a performance model, its stylish look translates nicely into a casual style for today’s sneakerheads. The shoe will finally be hitting the U.S. this spring in three colorways that sport some fashionable new touches. Each shoe features a combination of smooth leather with synthetic croc and snakeskin on various parts of the upper.

Included in the pack will be a black pair with white accents, as well as an opposite edition that’s white with black accents creating almost a negative version of the black shoe. The third colorway sticks with the colorless theme, using a grey and white upper with black accents. The only actual colors that shows up anywhere on the three sneakers are some minimal lime green accents that are used on the tongue and heel of the white pair. At long last, be on the lookout for all three to hit select New Balance stores in the U.S. this spring.
