When Vans Vault released a pack of goatskin sneakers, they opted for a suede treatment plus metallic leather accents. This latest pack uses full grain goatskin for a more traditional leather appearance. The Vans Sk8-Hi Goatskin Pack is comprised of three pairs, one each in red, navy blue or brown. Each has metal eyelets and tonal laces, and are available now from Japanese retailer ABC-Mart.

From the David Z-exclusive ‘super blue’ joints to a pair commemorating the Chinese brand’s Guinness World Record, the Asics Gel Lyte III has enjoyed a variety of new colours. Not to be outdone by its older brother, the Gel Lyte Speed appears here in the first of two pairs we’ll show you today to complete a closer look at the trio we first saw a little over a month ago. The pair pictured above comes in a combination of electric blue and hot pink that screams ‘early nineties!’ The ATC-like speckled gradients on the Asics logo add to this theme, while a white, grey and black base provide balance. As with the first pair we saw earlier this week, these are expected sometime next week in extremely limited quantities, so check with your local Asics retailer for more details. via Endorsed

Nike tends to get the most out of good designs, and here are two in one. Seeing that the fresh water colour scheme still has some life in it, Beaverton released it as one of the slew of new Air Max Lights for summer. This pair is mostly white with black tracing the lower vamp along the midsole. The aforementioned signature green appears on the Swooshes, heel embroidery, Air bubbles and outsoles. A nice clean look that’s perfect for warm weather, you can cop these now from Purchaze.

As promised, here’s the third pair of this super rare run of animal skinned sneakers. The Nike Air Max 90s here, like the others, were given to friends and family of NIKEiD employees in commemoration of the AM90′s 20 year run. These might just be the jewel of the pack, featuring blue snakeskin on the upper, along with tonal plastic inserts and an electric blue frame around the Air bubble. The white midsole plus the black accents in the snakeskin make for the most balanced effort in the trio. Act now to cop these before they’re gone: US size 9 is available at MentalKicks.

Having already seen the edition inspired by that evil little mogwai Stripe, let’s take a look at a pair designed after the film’s other main critter. This Gremlins x Reebok Pump Omni Lite is made to resemble the original creature, Gizmo. Though they’re unlikely to transform into something sinister if you get them wet, the furry sections strewn about the upper, sticking out through the brown leather probably wouldn’t respond well to moisture. This fuzzy material is also found on the lining and inside tongue. Throw in some pink on the tongue, side panels and outsole , and the similarity is striking. Part of Reebok’s Monsters Pack, we expect these to drop around the 25th anniversary of Gremlins’ first run, June 8th. via SneakerFreaker

Visvim showed us some new Skagway lowtops earlier this week in denim with dirty soles, but wants us to remember that the model is quite versitile. The Visvim Skagway is back in denim, but this time as a laceless lowtop slip-on or a hightop. The lowtop features the Skagway’s signature grid sans laces, while the hightops stretch it vertically. The slip-ons are only available in blue, whereas the hightops come in white, blue, orange or black. These are available now for pre-order from SampleKickz. via HS

With its 20th birthday right around the corner, the Nike Air Max 90 is emerging with some grown up treatments. We saw a pair in white croc skin last week, and here’s the first of three in a mix of lizard-like leathers. Above, we see another pair in croc skin, which is brown this time around. They feature tonal plastic inserts in all the usual palces and the air bubble is also framed in chocolate. An otherwise white midsole and black outsole balance these nicely. These are rare, so act fast to cop them now from MentalKicks.

In what may seem like an unlikely pairing, Nike 6.0 has teamed up with Canadian heavy metal band, 3 Inches of Blood, for an intriguing new collaboration sneaker. After learning that many of their athletes were die-hard metalheads and fans of the band, Nike decided that a collaboration made sense and the result is the Blood Oncore High. The shoe was co-designed by the band themselves, choosing an interesting selection of colors and materials to represent their aggressive sound in sneaker form. Known for their wizards and warriors fantasy battle themes, the Zoom Oncore High has been built for war. The shoe features different muted shades of brown and green distressed leather for the upper with metallic silver side panels to symbolize the menacing blades of war. As a nod the band’s colorful name, various red hues provide additional accents on the tongue, midsole and laces and the 3 Inches of Blood logo is stitched into the heel. Whether you are a fan of the band or just think these kicks are fresh, you can pick up a pair at select Nike 6.o retailers beginning on May 1st. Via 5ones.

One of Pharrell Williams’ fans has concocted a creative custom shoe to immortalize him and Spongebob Squarepants onto a pair of black leather Vans Eras. Known to have a soft spot for the little yellow guy, Pharell was given these kicks that feature his cartoon likeness on the back heel and a painted Spongebob on the toebox. Yellow laces add to the color scheme, but it’s the stuffed Spongebob serving as a puffy tongue that makes these one of the most unique and imaginative custom sneakers seen in a while. Check out more pics of this fun creation after the jump. Via BBC.
