Parra x Vans Era June/July 2009

Parra is on a roll.  Earlier today, we got a good look at the Nike Air Maxim 1 he lent a hand in designing, but we still don’t know when they’re going to drop.  With this other release, we expected them during Fall 2009, but are glad to have them for the summer.  The Parra x Vans Era pictured above is a colourful affair, but conspicious in its lack of illustrations.  While the white, blue, pink and orange upper is certainly eye-catching, Parra’s signature scribble can only be found on a message on the insole imploring you to remember why these shoes were created.  Sneaker Freaker reports these as a June/July 2009 release, so stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and the other pairs of Vans with the special Parra touch.

DQM + Huf + Kicks/HI x Vans Half Cab 3 Feet High Pack

Do you remember the first 3 Feet High Pack from Vans back in 2007?  It looks like this may become a biennial tradition, as Off the Wall once again hooked up with DQM, Huf and Kicks/Hi on a new pack of Half Cabs.  Each is special in its own way, with the black Kicks pair holding down the simplicity end of the fort.  DQM’s model adds an eye-popping plaid underlay and Huf goes all out with a red snakeskin upper and laces that read ‘Even snakes are afraid of snakes.”  No word yet on their release, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for updates.  photos from SnkrFrkr magazine via HB

Parra x Nike Air Maxim 1 New Photos

Let’s clear all the confusion: this shoe was officially designed by Dutch illustrator Parra.  We weren’t sure last week if they were maybe just inspired by his work, but now we know for sure.  The Parra x Nike Air Maxim 1 features illustrations on the insoles that are unmistakably, well, Parra-esque.  In these new pictures we can also see the tongue tag, which adds a hint of orange to the red and turquoise colour scheme laid atop these black beauties.  No word yet on the release date, so stick with Sneaker News for updates.  via mashKULTURE

Nike Dunk High Premium White Blue
If you think these look like a pair of ‘nylons’ that released last month, look again.  This new pair of Nike Dunk High Premiums certainly do use nylon, but this pair weaves it into an interesting new bubble pattern we’re starting to see more frequently from the Swoosh.  This textile forms the underlay for white leather accents to ride.  In fact, the entire shoe is white, save the royal blue accents on the outsole, laces and tongue tag.  Another warm look for your summer fun, these are available now from Titolo.

fragment design x uniform experiment x Nike Zoom Tennis Classic
If you like the Nike Tennis Classic, you’re sure to love this upgraded edition.  The fragment design x uniform experiment x Nike Zoom Tennis Classic keeps all the elegant style of the original and adds a few twists.  As is obvious from the name, these add Zoom Air cushioning to the elegant design.  We see evidence of Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design as well as his collaborative effort with Hirofumi Kiyonaga, uniform experiment, from their logos placed on the heel.  Aside from these insignias, the HF touch can be felt in the use of premium leather and suede.  There’s one pair each in tonal navy blue or white/black, both of which ride white soles.  You can cop one or both now from Only One Style.

Sneakerness 2009 Event Recap

We already saw two special Nike Air Force 1s from the event, but if you weren’t in Zürich over the weekend, those pictures might have been your only taste of Sneakerness 2009.  You’re in luck, as we have a whole slew of images from the Swiss sneaker show.  There were plenty of booths showcasing rare and special edition kicks, plus a presence from NIKEiD.  The whole thing wrapped up with an afterparty DJed by Clark Kent and Bobbito Garcia.  Take a few minutes to glance over the pics after the jump and consider booking your flight to Switzerland for next year’s event.  via Hypemag
