Though some have thoughtlessly dismissed it as an imitation of the similarly strapped Air Jordan VIII (8), the Nike Air Raid is known to astute sneakerheads as a legend in its own right. Reebok had its ‘Blacktop’ collection for outdoor ballin’ in the early ’90s, so Phil Knight commissioned Tinker Hatfield to do up a streetball sneaker for the Swoosh. The Air Raid dropped in 1992, and was retroed last year, including one that took part in the Urban Jungle Pack. That version opted for a white upper, inverting the original (pictured above, top-right). We found a dope little site dedicated to archiving all things Air Raid, so open a new window and point it to Air-Raids.com
