After the wild success of the Air Griffey Max 1 Retro over the last few months, we got to thinking about what other Air Griffey Retros we might want to see in the future. Ken Griffey Jr. definitely had his share of fresh signature Nike kicks over the years, and now that the line is making a comeback, a lot of people are speculating on what other Griffey models will be returning to stores. One of the front-runners has to be the Air Griffey Max GD II, a shoe that released almost 10 years ago, but still has a loyal fan base. With its sleek design and full sole Air Max unit, the shoe still holds up against the look and performance of today’s models and might make for an interesting Retro release.

These are kind of to plain looking to me. They don’t have that unique look like the air Griffey max 1. I would pass on these.

That’s why the 90′s baby’s would rather buy True Flights than Retro 7′s.
They know retros are the hottest out, but they don’t know why they’re so hot.
Back to the Griffey’s. My store still has the O.G.’s on sale for $69.99. So I’m not sure, as a retailer if this is a good idea.
I definitely liked them when I first saw them though a few years back.

I would get me a pair! I remember browsing on Eastbay catalogs and could have copped a pair, but changed my mind.
I regreted not getting the Black and Red pair. If Nike retros that colorway, I am all over it. By the way, Sneakernews, these are NOT the Griffeys Max 2s but rather the Griffeys Max GD 2, ppl here seemed to be confused about the name. What does “GD” mean? And I believe these were Griffey’s 7th or 8th Nike shoe, am I correct on that?
So why did Nike name this a “GD 2″? Was there a “GD 1″?
