No disrespect to Converse, but for sneakerheads who love the NBA, it’s always disappointing when an elite player wears some kicks that don’t mesh with the premier level of their game. Without calling out any names, there have been a bunch of great players who haven’t had great sneaker games, but Wade is a man with style, and it’s only fitting that he finally joins the Jordan team. The news has just been announced that D-Wade signed with Jordan Brand and sneakerheads are already speculating on what a Wade Jordan shoe will look like. With Kobe and LeBron already dominating the Nike Basketball scene, Jordan Brand seems like a good fit for Dwyane, who will definitely be given his chance to shine there.
Upon signing, Dwyane had this to say, “For me, the move to Jordan Brand is a dream come true. As a kid, I grew up on the south side of Chicago idolizing Michael Jordan and have worked hard to achieve the same success that he’s had on the court. I have enormous respect for this brand and all that it stands for. I’m humbled to be a part of the Team Jordan family and I’m looking forward to a great future.”
When asked about landing Wade, Michael Jordan replied, “I’m thrilled to have Dwyane Wade join the Team Jordan family. In his short time in the league, Dwyane has transformed himself into one of the game’s best and is the embodiment of leadership both on and off the court, a signature trait of our athletes. As the Jordan franchise approaches its silver anniversary, Dwyane will become a pinnacle member of the Jordan roster poised to help lead the Brand for years to come.”

Jordan Brand is a big step up from Converse but if he wanted to become a global brand he should have ask to go to Nike. In Jordan brand he will get lost in the crowd with everyone else. They have yet to be sucessfull making a great signiture shoe for their players like Nike. Recent examples Kobe and Lebron. Before anyone talks trash I know they are all the same company but each brand goes about stuff differntly.

Converse invented sneakers, and don’t you ever forget that they were in the business long before Nike was even a twinkle in Bowerman and Knight’s eyes. Enjoy wearing your Jordan 2k9′s fellas, because those are the ugliest shoes on the market right now. In fact, nearly every Jordan has varying degrees of ugliness, except for the 5 and the 1, and even the 1 just looks like a glorified Nike Dunk.

It’s a pretty big difference, actually. First, consider the brand associations you have to Jordan (and of course, Nike) versus Converse (who not everyone knows is owned by the Swoosh). Next, ask yourself how many elite NBA players are signed to Cons. As of today, zero. Jordan Brand? Melo, Ray Allen, CP3 and now Wade. It may be all the best for Converse…not like Wade was even wearing his latest Cons anyway

did any1 notice those carmines are crisp and have a nike air on the back. which means they are still producing (probably for select people) jordans wit the nike air logo. just something to think about as year 25 rolls around.

I think he is wearing the Chrome 2′s in the 3rd picture. I hope he can convince Mike to retro many belove Air Jordan’s, not just in the traditional Bulls color way, for example Hare 7′s, Mocha 3′s, Grape 5′s, AGAIN! Welcome to Team Jordan Wade, rock J’z and make me proud of it. I can’t wait to see what Flash will have on his feet. I wonder if his shoes will be better than his game, lol! I think Dwayne might wear those Carmine 6′s on his first game of the season, I can already tell there a good fit. By the looks of it, I see an Nike Air logo along with the swoosh, I’m hoping Jordan Brand brings it back, most likely they won’t. Who knows it’ll be the 25th anniversaryof the company.
