Quickstrikes can be a love-hate sort of arrangement.  On one hand, sneakerheads love limited edition kicks and waiting in line and/or pulling strings can be fun.  On the other hand, what if you don’t get what you’re after (gasp!)?  With release set for Saturday, we’re seeing the Atlantic blue Nike Air Penny II Retro QS already available.  These new photos reveal that the outsole is in fact the same barely-translucent blue that appeared on the 1996 original, a welcome clarification indeed.  If you’re feelin’ the shark’s fin and ocean blue design, paddle over to eBay now.  Photos Via neo122401.

The Nike Sportswear Fall/Holiday ’09 lookbook has just found its way onto the web, and although there are no real surprises here, it’s still a nice reminder of the strong lineup that’s on the way later this year. As you scroll through, keep an eye out for some pretty fresh kicks on the horizon like the Gucci-inspired Dunk High Supreme Spark designed by Clark Kent, as well as some other Dunk models from the upcoming East vs. West collection. Also on display are a number of Air Max 1 colorways, a couple of Air Max 90 Current Huaraches and a number of nice women’s models. If you saw our Jordan Flight 45 Holiday ’09 preview, then you know that the shoe will be released this winter in two classic Air Jordan XII-inspired colorways. Here we get a detailed look at the “Taxi” version, which features a White leather upper with a Black toe that sports the same material as the beloved Air Jordan model. As extra touches, the buckles on the strap are Metallic Gold and the upper even has the same stitching pattern as the originals. At the moment, reactions to the Flight 45 are pretty mixed, but this version looks to have a lot going for it. Nike SB appears to have been picking up some steam lately, thanks in large part to the fact that they have gotten back to some of the creative approaches that made the line so popular in the first place. Images recently surfaced on Colmilludo of a “Mystery Dunk” that was getting a lot of SB-heads excited, and we have since learned that this shoe is being called the Orange Un-Hemp and will possibly be a Holiday ’09 Quickstrike. Hemp Dunks hold a special place in the hearts of a lot of Nike SB fans, and these will no-doubt be greeted with a warm reception when they drop. New images of another Air Max LeBron VII colorway have recently popped up from an unlikely source. These images were recently posted on Flicker by Cynroux, an artist who was given these super clean LeBron VII samples to customize for an upcoming Nike project. There is no word yet on whether or not these will be one of the colorways to eventually drop or if they were just created in white to provide a blank canvas for the artist. White on white is never a bad look, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that these make their way into stores. A lot of sneakerheads had cause for celebration last week as House of Hoops announced plans for seven new store locations. With that news already making waves in the sneaker game, we now give you a look at another new House of Hoops location that is a little more off the beaten path for most of us. A new HOH was recently opened in Taipei last Friday, and although most of us will never get to check it out in person, at least we can see what we are missing. Aside from displays of some of today’s hottest kicks like the Bulls/Celtics Air Jordan 1 DMP pack and the Transformers 2 collection, you can also get a look at the layout of the store, as well as the giant Air Jordan family tree display that covers the entire wall along the staircase. Patta is taking the white leather and gum rubber outsole design beyond just their upcoming Nike Air Max 1.  The Patta x Pro-Keds Royal Lo + Hi both feature a rich pebbled white leather upper.  As if the dope mix with the gum rubber outsole weren’t enough, these will be packaged in a ‘heavy duty grocerybag.’  These will drop at Patta this Saturday, July 25 and the following week at other select retailers.  Click the jump below for a video (dope soundtrack!).

This shoe was a part of our Holiday ’09 Air Jordan 1 preview and now we get a detailed look at the sneaker from various angles. As you can tell, this is the Atlanta Hawks installment of the 60+ series, paying tribute to Michael’s 61 point performance against Atlanta on April 16, 1987. The shoe sports a Black leather upper with splashes of Varsity Red on the tongue label, outsole and laces, as well as the carpet-like chenille Swoosh. Additional accents come by way of Varsity Maize contrast stitching on the upper and a Varsity Maize Jumpman logo on the tongue. By now, you’ve probably already seen many of the upcoming Holiday ’09 releases from Jordan Brand, but the preview wouldn’t be complete without a look at the boys’ portion of the collection. Jordan Brand will be taking care of the youngsters this winter with a nice variety of Jordan models in smaller sizes. We just showed you a new Men’s Blazer Low that comes with a stitchless upper and now here is a look at a new Women’s Blazer mid that comes in a Mid cut featuring a premium mesh on the entire upper in a soft Pink color.
