Pharrell Williams who was seen “going in” on a pair of the Nike Lunaracer+ sneakers while shopping at colette a few weeks ago and now they are his favorite pair of sneakers. Pharrell who usually is seen wearing his own BBC/Ice Cream sneakers made the change and it shouldn’t come as a surprise as these Lunaracer’s are incredibly comfortable. Maybe it’s also because of Skateboard P’s obssession with outerspace and the fact that these shoes have the word Lunar in them that got P to pick up a pair. Check out what else Pharrell was seen wearing after the jump. via Pharrell

Last month, we gave you a preview of an intriguing new Air Trainer TW II release that honors the legacy of Bo Jackson in a creative way, by not only using his black/silver Raiders color scheme, but also including a pixelated Bo character from the popular 80′s video game, Tecmo Bowl, on the tongue label. We have since seen a Blazer High that gives a nod to Bo’s baseball days as a Kansas City Royal and a Sky Force High that also sports the Raider’s color scheme and pixelated graphics. Now, we get a look at two more Air Trainer TW II colorways that stick to the Tecmo Bo theme.
One pair sports a similar black/silver color scheme to the first Tecmo Bo Trainer II that we showed you, but this version goes with a simpler look, using an all black leather upper instead of the patent leather and textured heel pattern. The other new colorway also keeps it simple, opting for a white leather upper with grey and silver accents. Both pairs feature the Tecmo Bo label on the tongue and should be hitting stores soon, so stick with Sneaker News for the latest on the entire Tecmo Bo collection. If you don’t want to take any chance of missing out on these, you can already pre-order both colorways on eBay.

With Nike collaborating on a couple of packs to promote the Transformers sequel, your author is glad his second favourite toys from the 80s didn’t get overlooked. Commemorating the original film’s 25th anniversary, the Ghostbusters x A Bathing Ape Bapesta collection comes in the two most logical colourways: red and white. Each is emblazoned with the ‘No Ghost’ emblem on the outer heel and heel tab, while the simple red and white colourways stay true to the film. The box is white, with a depiction of Baby Milo driving the Ecto-1. These are available from Bape Land and select Bape chapter stores in Japan. Other Bathing Ape retailers should receive them over the next few weeks. via FRESHNESS

The upcoming Nike Basketball lineup looks strong and here’s another model to add to the mix. The Nike Air Max Go is unveiled in six new colours, the whole lot of which might be TB colourways (evinced by the simple colour patterns and ‘DREAM’ on the inner tongue). The upper is suede with parallel indents, an underlay capped on the toes and heels by patent leather (the heels also have a pattern). Check out all the shots after the jump and see if one of these matches your school’s colours. via FlightClub

The University of Kentucky has one of the richest college basketball legacies in the nation, so when King James stopped by, he decided to rep for another notable b-ball program that is a little closer to his heart. During his recent visit there, LeBron was spotted shooting jumpers in a pair of Air Jordan IX’s in his Saint Vincent-St. Mary’s colors. This is further proof that even if you have your own signature shoe, sometimes those classic Air Jordan models are too hard to pass up when you see them sitting in your closet. You can check out some closeups of the shoe after the jump, as well as a picture of LeBron with new Kentucky coach, John Calipari. Via NT.

The Nike Air Penny 1/2 (Half) cent returns in an all black design. They share the Air Penny line’s superiour cushioning and are perfect for either court or street wear. Grab these now from select Nike retailers and eBay. Photos via raym2aol.com

Over the course of the past few weeks, various NBA Rookies, free agents, and journeymen have been competing in the 2009 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. While a number of you were rooting for your favorite new players including the likes of Blake Griffin, Hasheem Thabeet, DeMar Derozan, Brandon Jennings, Steph Curry, and more, Sneaker News was busy focusing on what these various players had on their feet. From the looks of things the Nike Hyperdunk still seems to be the shoe of choice, even after a year, as it was seen on a a number of players throughout the Summer League. Additionally it seems that various players have taken a liking to various Jordan Brand products including the Air Jordan XII “Nubuck”, Air Jordan V “Toro Bravo Pack” 3M, Air Jordan True Flight, Air Jordan XI from the Countdown Pack, and the Air Jordan Force Fusion IX. Nike Basketball’s lowest cut and lightest shoe to date, the Nike Zoom Kobe IV, also made a number of appearances on various players ranging from George Karl’s son, Coby Karl, to Chicago Bulls’ Rookie James Johnson, as well as Oklahoma City Thunder Rookie James Harden. Wizards swingman, Nick Young, debuted the Nike Hyperize in the White Men Can’t Jump colorway. However no player in the Summer League could top the New Orleans Hornets’ Point Guard, Chris Paul, when it came to sneakers, Paul was seen courtside during one of the Hornets’ games wearing a pair of the brand new Air Jordan Sixty Plus shoes.

With several new Nikes on the way sporting a back to school vibe, these incorporate the theme more subtly. The Nike Dunk High GS pictured above is constructed in tonal navy blue leathers with orange and white stitching. The double stitch looks pretty slick, but the key feature on this pair is the embossing on the underlay. It depicts a bunch of cartoonish drawings and phrases, perfect for the youngsters. These should be out right around the same time as the others, before class is in session. If you don’t want to risk missing out, pre-order a pair now from eBay.

You can tell it’s back to school time because we’re seeing a ton of newly previewed looks, and Nike is once again drawing on some of the common classroom themes. While some the youngsters who use the product that these were inspired by the most might be a little young to get the Scantron reference, they’ll still love this new Crayola-inspired Nike Dunk High GS. It features a black, yellow and white construction with dual stripes that resemble the crayon king’s packaging. They also feature the same sunkissed schoolhouse tongue tag that appeared on the aforementioned Blazers, confirming the back to school pack. These should be available within a couple of weeks or you can reserve a pair now on eBay.
