Nike Dunk High Black Monster Red

Despite being available next month, these are some of the ‘scariest’ Dunks we’ve seen in a while.  Actually, we’ll concede that the Nike Dunk High pictured above isn’t all that frightening.  The truth is, the black leather upper looks fantastic atop a Monster Red sole.  Monster Red is just a shade darker than Nike’s legendary Infrared shade, so we’re excited to see more of this new hue.  Take a look at more photos after the jump and get ready for these to drop later in July or early in August. If you don’t want to risk missing them, you can place a pre-order for these now on eBay.

Air Jordan 1 High Strap Holiday 09 Releases

Last week, we gave you a look at the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Retro Phat Premier colorways from the holiday ’09 60+ series, but they won’t be the only Air Jordan 1′s in the collection. Joining the 60+ versions, there will also be two new colorways of the Air Jordan 1 High Strap. Both feature simple Black on Black uppers, but there are some definite differences between the two. Obviously the accent colors on the straps and midsoles are the most noticeable variations, with one pair using Voltage Yellow highlights and the other sporting some touches of Orion Blue. There are, however, some other subtle differences like the materials of the uppers. The Black /Voltage Yellow pair uses a more traditional rich leather, while the Black Orion version features a combination of grid nylon and a material that appears to be covered with a snakeskin-like pattern. You can get a better look at both colorways after the jump, as well as the release info for each.

Air Jordan 2009 Unreleased Samples

Reactions to the Air Jordan 2009 were pretty mixed, and as a result, they didn’t necessarily create the stir that other Air Jordan models caused. Not many colorways were released, leaving those who liked the shoe disappointed and those who weren’t feeling them indifferent. Now we get a look at two unreleased samples that sport some traditional Air Jordan/Chicago Bulls colorways. The Bred look is always a favorite and it seems a shame that these versions never got a chance to shine. Both do justice to the design and the Black/Red color scheme always looks so right on an Air Jordan shoe. If you’re a fan of the Air Jordan 2009 or at least these colorways, you can check out some more pics after the jump for a look at what could have been. Via NT.

Maloof Money Cup 2009

The three-day Maloof Money Cup competition, which boasts the largest purse in the history of professional skateboarding, rolled into the orange County fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California last weekend and hosted three different professional competitions—Men’s and Women’s Pro Street, Men’s Pro Vert and the U.S. Amateur Championships. The event, created by Joe Maloof, included an innovative new street course designed by some of the top names in the skateboard industry and a 40,000 square-foot interactive festival village featuring action sport retailers and skateboarding activities.

Because this is the richest skateboarding event in history, all of the street legends and icons made an appearance, including Paul Rodriguez, Terry Kennedy, Ryan Sheckler, Geoff Rowley, Chris Cole, Erik Ellington, Nyjah Huston, Eric Koston, Greg Lutzka, Chaz Ortiz and Braydon Szafranski.  Catch these big names on the NBC broadcast of the Maloof Money Cup this Sunday, July 19th, 2:00 – 3:00 PM EST.  Additional photos via Transworld.

Air Jordan Phly Legend Holiday 09 Releases
Before some of the newer models that more blatantly go for a lifestyle look, the Jordan Phly Legend was one of the only options if you wanted a casual looking Jordan shoe. The model will be back in some new colorways for the holiday ’09 season, offering a simple silhouette that falls somewhere in between a classic basketball design and a lifestyle sneaker. Of the five new versions, the two that jump out are the Phly Legend Premium editions that borrow their color schemes from the Air Jordan XII, similar to the Flight 45′s that we showed you yesterday. Keep reading after the jump for a look at release info and pics of all five upcoming holiday ’09 colorways.

Thursday Throwback 2005 Nike Air Force 1 Miami 305

Thursday Throwback by: GourmetKickz

Year: 2005
Name: Air Force 1
Style #: 309096-181
Colors:
White/Clementine-Aloe (Miami)
NikeAirForce1.com 1Thology Profile

“This is how we take the old from new, the new to the old, the old from the new!” Yes we’re about to take you back….. Way back…… into time! So once again I find myself digging into the year 2005 to find some of the dopest AF1′s in my collection. Long before Pitbull was shouting out 305 on every club track and even before Officer Ricky was disgracing Dade County with lackluster street cred, Miami was doing big things! So big in fact that the Sunshine State’s gem of a city was included in Nike’s 2005 City pack. One of the few woven Air Forces to be released as part of this limited city pack is the eye-catching dish before you. Some clementine and aloe please! What ingredients better to mix up a tropical dish than two colors hardly ever used by Nike! The dog tag graphic with “305″ and “MIA” (using the abbreviation as a play on words to warrant the usage of dog tags)  is a nice finisher to an already complete sneaker. A tough colorway to hook up with  much outside of some Miami teams gear, but nonetheless a release few sneakerheads could live without. This AF1 Premium is a great summer sneaker to catch plenty of attention from unschooled “sneakerheads” whether you are dealing with inconsistent sun in the North, or dripping with sweat in a wifebeater sipping on mojitos in Miami. So if you are a true AF1 King like me, make it a point to reach into your collection, dust off your Miami Wovens and don them a time or two to see what knowledgeable necks you can break!

Nike Zoom LeBron Ambassador II Spring 2010

Kobe Bryant and LeBron James each have an NBA MVP Award, but Kobe has four championship rings, whereas LeBron has none.  If it’s any consolation, LeBron has three series of shoes, but Kobe just got his first secondary sneaker (the Kobe Strength trainers notwithstanding).  The Nike Zoom Lebron Ambassador II is pictured above in three new colours for Spring 2010.  There’s one in Cleveland’s uniform colours, another in white and black with metallic gold accents, plus a colourway that’s likely designed with the Summit Lake Hornets in mind.  Take a look at all three after the jump and let us know if you plan to cop these when they drop early next year.  via Kenlu

Nike Dunk High Nylon Premium Grey Red Blue

NYLON Magazine’s collaboration with Nike Sportswear won’t be the last time their namesake fabric will grace the Dunk silhouette.  This Nike Dunk High Nylon Premium comes to us in a grey colour that extends from the upper to the sole.  They have royal blue laces, plus the tongue tag, lining and Swoosh are a nice red colour that might turn out to be Nike’s new Monster Red shade.  These will be available soon and we’ll keep you in the loop, but if you can’t wait, reserve a pair now on eBay.
