Nike SB Zoom Tre A.D. Grand Purple Black October 09

Nike has released a few new colours this year, notable among them hot red and grand purple.  The latter has appeared almost black in alot of other photos, but on the upper of this new Nike SB Zoom Tre A.D., it’s clearly a dark violet.  With electric blue touches on the tongue and rear midsole, these are just a bit of yellow away from a Hornets vibe.  They’ll be available next month at most Nike SB retailers.  via N-SB.org

Air Jordan 1 Phat Low White Shadow Grey

The Air Jordan 1 Phat Low is back again, but this time with a new twist. The color scheme on these is basic enough, using a White on White color scheme made up of a pebbled leather upper. The only accents come by way of some choice touches of Shadow Grey, which was recently seen on the eye-catching Air Jordan 1 Retro High that we showed you yesterday. The Grey hue can be found on the lining and outsole, as well as on the chenille Swoosh, which takes a page from the 60+ series of Air Jordan 1 Phat Premiers that we have already previewed. These kicks were supposed to hit stores at the beginning of August, but most retailers are still waiting for them to show up. If you like this simple, super-clean style, be on the lookout for these any day now at select Jordan Brand accounts.

Nike Air Max Skyline Neutral Grey Orange Blaze Black

Despite its slick look and retro-inspired design, the Air Max Skyline is still flying under most sneakerheads’ radars. This latest version gives the shoe one of its boldest color schemes yet, perhaps improving the chances that these will be more easily noticed by sneaker consumers. This Air Max Skyline uses a combination of materials on the upper from Black leather to Neutral Grey synthetic suede to White mesh. In contrast to the conservative base colors, an Orange Blaze Swoosh and Air bubble add some serious punch to the look of the shoe and the speckled area of the midsole that surrounds the Air bag provides another stylish element to the mix. If you like what you see here, you can get a pair now from StepToRun on eBay.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII City Pack Akron

Along with the artist series version of the Air Max LeBron VII, we also now bring you a look at the Akron edition of the City Pack. More than with any other city on the More Than A Game World Tour, Akron holds some special significance for many reasons. Besides being LeBron’s home, Akron is also the setting for the film, More Than A Game, which follows the story of LeBron and his friends/teammates during their younger days at St. Vincent St. Mary High School. Like with the other installments of the City Pack, the Akron shoe will sport a hometown SVSM colorway with some personal touches that capture moments in time from LeBron’s life and basketball career.

The theme of the Akron version of the Air Max LeBron VII is “family,” so it’s only fitting that the photo used on these is a vintage shot of young Bron standing with his mother, Gloria, before he had even passed her in height. The image is featured on the tongue as well as inset on the inner half of the shoe, giving the Akron LeBron VII its most personal feel yet. As with the others, only 123 pairs of these kicks will be available when the More Than A Game tour visits Akron today.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII Artist Series Akron Edition by James Hayden

As LeBron’s More Than A Game World Tour moves from city to city, we’ve been giving you a look at the artist series editions of the Nike Air Max LeBron VII from each stop on the tour. By now, you’ve already seen the 1 of 1 customs from Chicago and Washington D.C. and now it’s time to check out a version that should be more near and dear to LeBron’s heart. Today, the More Than A Game tour makes its way to Akron, Ohio where LeBron grew up and first gained national attention as a high school phenom.

Local Akron tattoo artist, James Hayden, who has actually had the pleasure of inking up LeBron in the past, was enlisted to create the Akron installment of the artist series. Being that Akron is where LeBron called home for so long, the theme of this custom Air Max LeBron VII is “family,” which is written in script across the side of the right shoe. “Loyalty” is scrawled across the left shoe, with additional touches like a lion’s head and a crown on the toe areas and a nod to the 330 area code on the inner half of the left shoe.

When asked about the chance to create this special tribute to LeBron and the city of Akron, Hayden had this to say. “My inspiration to design these shoes was driven by LeBron’s tattoos. As a tattoo artist, it’s such an honor to tattoo an individual like LeBron. He’s a very focused person on and off the court — his love for family and his loyalty to his city are shown repeatedly in his tattoos. I wanted to replicate his dedication within the design on the shoes.”

Hip-hop and the sneaker game often go hand in hand, so when watching the new video for J-Dilla’s “24K Rap,” featuring Raekwon and Havoc of Mobb Deep, many sneakerheads will notice a familiar backdrop behind the action. Late last month, we gave you a look at some behind the scenes pics from the filming of the video that just so happened to be shot at none other than legendary NYC shop, Alife. Store manager Jesse Villanueva even makes an appearance in the video as a victim who is tied up and robbed in the store. Besides the setting for the video being a sneaker store, there are also some sneaker cameos in the footage, such as Raekwon holding up a pair of LIVESTRONG Mister Cartoon Air Force 1′s. Check out the video here and keep reading for some more inside looks at the video shoot.

LIVESTRONG x Nike Air Max Moto 7 + Shox Turbo 9+

While the Air Max and Greatest Hits portions of the most recent LIVESTRONG x Nike campaign got a lot of attention, some lesser known Nike models will also be joining the fight against cancer. Now that the excitement from the “Holy Grail” collection has faded a little, two new running models will don the LIVESTRONG color scheme for a good cause. The Shox Turbo 9+ is an impressive performance runner with a breathable synthetic/mesh upper and Shox columns in the heel. The shoe sports a Black upper with Metallic Silver and Varsity Maize accents to give it that LIVESTRONG feel.

The other new model is the Air Max Moto+ 7, another very capable running model with a mostly mesh upper and extra Air cushioning in the heel. Like the other pair, these also feature a healthy dose of the LIVESTRONG Varsity Maize, although the Air Max Moto+ 7 goes with a flashier Metallic Silver base on the upper. As with all the LIVESTRONG releases, 100% of the profits from these kicks will go to the Lance Armstrong Foundation to help battle cancer. Do your part in the fight by picking up one or both pairs today at Nikestore.
