Concepts x Clarks Originals Wallabee September 09

Boston’s Concepts has played a major role in sneaker collaboration and prove their versatility with this release.  The Concepts x Clarks Originals Wallabees pack marks the first time Clarks co-branded with a retail brand and the results are stunning.  Three super-glossy patent leather designs feature interlocking Cs etched on the outer heel, just below a Concepts hang tag and just above the store name burnt into the Wallabee’s crepe sole.  There’s one each in marooon, navy blue and forest green and all should hit in September.

Nike Blazer High Premium ND Black Purple Laser Etched

Laser-etched ABCs are here to stay.  So says Nike with this latest release of Blazer Mid Premium NDs.  These go hard in black, a mix of leather and suede contrasted by a white midsole-toe.  Purple laces reinforce its dark leanings, but there’s a twinkle in the black that deserves another look.  Though the characters are etched in dark purple, they really liven up and add brightness to this design.  Grab a pair of these stateside soon or now from Dunk.com.cn.

Comme des Garcons PLAY for Converse Collection

Comme des Garcons has a line of their own sneakers but have proven over the years that a well placed collaboration can be nice as well.  These Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars are more definitively ‘Comme’ than Junya Watanabe’s subtle work on the similarly-floppy Vans Sk8-Hi.  Each pair of this run designed by Rei Kawakubo features the signature heart design and will launch at the end of August.  They’re sized unisex-ly and will retail for $100.  via SlamXHype

Nike Sky Force High Tecmo Bo Available

We’ve shown you a couple previews of the Tecmo Bo edition of the Nike Sky Force High and now they are finally starting to arrive in stores. The shoe sports a black/silver/white color scheme as a nod to Bo Jackson’s days as a Los Angeles Raider. Like several of the other Tecmo Bo releases, these kicks feature some metallic silver pixel graphics on the side of the upper and the football Tecmo Bo character appears on the tongue label. As if the return of the Sky Force High wasn’t cool enough, the Tecmo Bo angle puts these over the top. You can get yours now at FootLocker and other select retailers.

Opening Ceremony x Keds Footwear Collection

Keds tends to keep their designs simple but an upcoming collaboration with Opening Ceremony is sure to get some attention.  OC added some of their high-end flair to a big set of new Keds canvas lowtops.  Each one escapes being ‘plain’ with nice details like striped laces or the use of bandana, denim and other fabrics.  There’s a significant note of Americana in this pack, down to the yellow insoles with old school Keds trademarks.  Expect them later this season.  via FRESHNESS

Air Jordan Spring/Summer 2010 Release Info

Over the last year or so, sneakerheads seem to have become more and more disillusioned with recent Jordan Brand releases. The Air Jordan Force Fusion series definitely had a major hand in turning off a lot of longtime Jordan purists, and even with a number of nice Retro releases, there always seemed to be something for Jordan-heads to complain about. That said, there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel with a very strong line-up of both new and retro releases for 2010. Between the spring and summer of next year, Jordan Brand will be bringing back the Air Jordan VI in four different versions that include both new and beloved OG colorways. On the subject of OG’s, the Air Jordan II will be making a comeback in its original White/Varsity Red/Black “Quarter Finals” colorway. Joining the Retro party will also be a White/Black/Navy snakeskin edition of the Air Jordan XI, which many are speculating to be similar to the Low snakeskin versions that dropped a few years back.

As previously reported on Sneaker News, the Spiz’ike will once again bridge the gap between new and old, paying homage to some classic Air Jordan models with three new colorways, including the super-fresh Bred version that we showed you back in June. On the new model tip, 2010 will see the release of third signature shoe in the Chris Paul CP3 series, as well as the Air Jordan 2010 (XXV), Air Jordan Force Fusion VIII and a variety of other new additions to the Air Jordan family. Keep reading after the jump for a look at some of the most eagerly anticipated pieces of the Spring/Summer 2010 roster, along with a listing of the rest of the confirmed upcoming releases from Jordan Brand. Nike Air Force 1 Low Obsidian White

Over the last year, Nike has taken the Air Force 1 back to its simplest form, choosing simple color blocking and palettes to give the classic shoe more of a traditional look. Here we have a look at the most recent example of this concept in action. This Air Force 1 Low sports a solid Obsidian leather upper and midsole with the only accents coming by way of some minimal splashes of White on the laces, heel tab and outsole, as well as on the contrast stitching and “AIR” branding on the midsole. Considering all of the wild Air Force 1 designs that we’ve seen over the years, this recent batch of back-to-basics colorways continues to provide a refreshing alternative that shows off the iconic design in a classic-looking style. These have already hit select retailers overseas, so stay tuned for further info on a U.S. release. Via Dunk.com.cn.

Nike Sportswear Spring 2010 Footwear Preview

Last month, we gave you a look at some fresh upcoming Air Max 1 colorways, and now we bring you another sneak peek at some more kicks that will be hitting stores next spring. Once again, the Air Max 1 is front and center in both men’s and women’s versions. Unfortunately, it has been rumored that the bright orange and bright blue editions have been scrapped, but you never know what can happen between now and then. Joining the Air Max 1′s, there will also be a black/yellow/purple Dunk High with a gum outsole and a red mesh Blazer High. Last but not least, the Air Structure Triax will also be back in one of its boldest looks yet, using a black base with pink and orange accents. Air Jordan VI 2009 Doernbecher Freestyle

This year, Nike and Jordan Brand will once again team up with the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for another round of special Freestyle releases. Following the amazing Air Jordan 1 designed last year by Tony Taylor Jr., this year will see the release of a Doernbecher Freestyle edition of the Air Jordan VI. The shoe sports an Olympic-like color scheme with a navy blue suede upper accented by red and gold highlights. As with many of the other Doernbecher kicks, the shoe also features some detailed graphics and designs on the upper and both heels have an embroidered number 1 in a circle. As a final touch, the question “What Time Is It?” and the answer, “Game Time!” are include on labels inside the tongue of each shoe. Doernbecher releases usually drop in late fall, but you can already find a pair early courtesy of MarqueeSole.

Celebrity Feet: Rick Ross Nike Air Yeezy Black

Hip-Hop legend, Rakim, performed at the Highline Ballroom last week in New York and special guests Rick Ross and U-God made cameo appearances during the show. While Rakim was the main event, Rick Ross stole the show when it came to kicks, breaking out a crisp pair of the Nike x Kanye West Air Yeezy’s in Black. Rakim kept it classic with a pair of fresh White on White Air Force 1′s and his DJ, DJ Kid Capri, was seen with a pair of adidas sneakers, that he ended up taking off at one point during the show.
