When Nike SB created the Dunk Mid, some purists were upset. The Mid has become more popular of late and now it seem that the in-between cut will be branching out into GS-level releases. This one is the latest in Nike’s back to school pack, offering its take on the ‘Nikebook’ marbled notebook theme. These are purple and white, plus the requisite white with blue and red stripes on the underlay. These are available just in time for school from Premium Laces.

Supra’s latest drops for the eighth month hearken back to the most famous release of the eighth Air Jordan. Each of these carries an undeniable ‘Aqua’ vibe into August, starting with the Cruizer. Its lowtop design clearly borrows the Air Jordan IV (4)’s mesh side panels and has already done a turn in Grape. Next up is the Chad Muska Sky Low, which drops the aqua touches in favor of all black and purple. Erik Ellington’s Diablo 1.5 looks more Grape-y than Aqua with its white sole, while the Suprano High is closest to the Aqua VIIIs with its strapped ankles. All four are available now at Vault.

Marshall Faulk’s NFL rookie season started around the same time as the release of the final OG colourway of the sneakers pictured above. His own special Air Jordan IX (9) Low clearly commemorates his time running amok from the backfield of the St. Louis Rams. There’s a good chance he even wore pairs like these during games, given the Edward Jones Dome’s artifical turf. They opt for a simple gold on white palette, replacing the typical ’23′ on the heel with Faulk’s ’28′. Rams fans and Jordan collectors alike will be delighted to find a pair of these in US men’s size 11 at LaceLocked.

Puma must be checking under their collective beds alot. From the Kozyndan El Rey collection to the amazingly elaborate Japanese Monster Pack, the German Cat has been focusing alot of its energy on monster releases. The Puma Slipstream Hi Monster is relatively tame compared to its predecessors, but that does little to diminish their eye-catching designs. These opt for a cheetah printed horse hair underlay topped with faux-lizard, patent and full grain leathers. One goes the tonal black route while the other is based in white, black and purple with light blue and pink adding balance. Grab either or both of these today from The Good Will Out.

By this point, any sneakerhead worth their salt knows that two of Michael Jordan’s five sixty plus point outbursts came against Boston and Orlando. The next victim to be properly recognized looks to be the Detroit Pistons. This Nike Air Jordan 1 Phat Premier rocks the classic Motown red and blue palette, which looks excellent when done in lightly tumbled leather, canvas and terry cloth. Expect these to drop at the Foot Locker House of Hoops and other select Jordan Brand retailers in December.

England’s JD Sports gets alot of exclusive Nike running shoes and they usually do them up in clean blue/black mixes. With an effort as solid as the one pictured above, they deviated from the colour scheme but clearly not the trend towards excellence. This Nike Air Max 90 looks something like a softened version of the Infrared classic. These opt for a mix of greys to the exlusion of black and use Nike’s new hot red shade instead of infrared. These are yours for the taking from JD Sports.

What more can be said about the Nike Dunk? It’s right up there with Air Jordans and Air Force 1s in the all time pantheon of Swoosh designs and its classic silhouette provides a perfect canvas for innumerable colourways. Here are four new joints to expect later this fall. A black/metallic silver pair that drops this monthis colourblocked similarly to a red/metallic silver pair for September that features a similar perforation pattern to The Simpsons Dunk High that just hit retailers. The other September lowtop in this collection is very similar to a hot red release from a little while ago, adding a shiny, tonally-splattered rear quarter/heel to its blue upper. Last but certainly not least is a Dunk High with simple black and white styling and the same perforations mentioned above, also set to drop next month. Stick with Sneaker News for updates on all of these releases.

As a very special treat to attendees of the Nike Air Max LeBron summit, the tour made a stop at Akron’s St. Vincent St. Mary High School where LeBron first made a splash as one of the most highly regarded high school phenoms of all-time. St. Vincent St. Mary head coach, Dru Joyce, who just won another State Championship with last year’s squad, was on hand to take members of the media through the locker room and onto the court where King James’s incredible reign first started. Media members suited up in full Fighting Irish uniforms, complete with a crispy pair of Air Max LeBron VII samples to wear-test. Coach Joyce ran some drills and pick-up games for the participants and even LeBron, himself, stepped onto the floor to provide some thrills to the crowd by getting in on some of the action.
