Some of the nation’s best high school basketball players recently gathered at Cleveland State’s Wolstein Center for the King City Classic tournament. Aside from the high quality of basketball being played, the other major attraction was the Zoom Soldier III PE’s that were created exclusively for participants to wear at the event. This version of LeBron’s secondary shoe features a black patent leather upper with red straps across the mid section and some metallic gold accents sprinkled throughout. It’s not likely that these will ever hit retail, but we’ll let you know if any pop up on eBay. You can get a look at some more pics of the King City Classic Zoom Soldier III’s in action after the jump. Via LRJ23.

Customizer, Brad Douglas, reveals his new custom in the form of a Blazer SB. Named “7-Ply” to reference the skateboard inspiration, the shoe’s characteristics imply that which is vital to skaters. The upper features lasered wood grain leather- a similar look to the Michael Lau Gardener Dunk SB’s- along with grip tape as accents. The heel tabs, which typically sports the NIKE embroidery, have been altered to look like a board where truck hardware is attached. Not only a crisp and clean job evident of attention to detail, but a great concept relevant to the skate community as well as the shoe chosen itself. Via N-SB.org

Back in January, we gave you a look at this fresh pair of Air Jordan II PE’s that were made for Michael’s son Marcus in the color scheme of his Whitney Young High School Dolphins. At the time, it was reasonable to expect that looking at some photos was the closest most of us would ever get to these, but Osneaker has managed to scoop up a pair of the super-rare exclusives. The kicks feature a white leather upper with navy and orange accents and are available now from Osneaker in a size 15. Be prepared to drop some serious dough for these, but what an addition these gems would make to any Air Jordan collection.

Jay-Z along with Kid Cudi, Flo-Rida, Lil ‘Jon, New Boyz, Sean Paul, the Black Eyed Peas, and more performed a few nights ago in Anaheim, California at the Honda Center. We got a chance to take a look at what a number of these celebrities and musicians were wearing on their feet and the winner of the hottest kicks might have to go to Kid Cudi, who was seen with a pair of the Air Jordan IV’s in the original Black colorway, we’re guessing he got these from last year’s Countdown Pack. Jay-Z was seen with a pair of high cut kicks with a couple straps that could be something coming from Rocawear down the road or a sneaker that we don’t know about yet. One of the members of New Boyz was seen wearing a pair of the new Nike SB Green Spark Pimento Blazer’s. Check out what some other artists were wearing after the jump…

The Toxic Avenger is still loose! Maybe not in the sense of literally lurking in New Jersey, but we can confirm that the new release pictured above isn’t designed to honour him. Instead, this new Nike SB Dunk Low Premium has earned the nickname ‘Asparagus’. This name is probably a better fit, given the prominent green side panels, laces and tongue, but the mix of browns, black, bright red and yellow had us thinking otherwise. If you’re feelin the Troma-inspired joints, stick with Sneaker News for updates and go ahead and buy these joints today from LTD.

In addition to our preview of the Air Jordan 1 Retro Phat Premier 60+ collection that will be dropping this holiday season, we have also given you some close-up looks at the Atlanta Hawks and Detroit Pistons installments. Now we focus on another colorway from the series inspired by the Cleveland Cavs, who Michael scored a whopping 69 points against on March 28, 1990. The shoe sports the Cavs’ classic color scheme, using a Midnight Navy leather upper with Ceramic orange accents showing up on the laces, tongue label and outsole, as well as on the fuzzy chenille Swoosh. This version of the Air Jordan 1 Phat Premier also sets itself apart from the other 60+ Air Jordan 1′s thanks to the use of a wool-like material on sections of the upper, as opposed to the all-leather look of the others. If you are feeling this colorway, be on the lookout when they drop this November. Via FootLockerUnlocked.

Yesterday, we gave you a sneak preview of the Chicago installment of the Air Max LeBron VII from the More Than A Game World Tour City Pack and now we get a better look at the finer details, in addition to some confirmed release info. As you may have already seen yesterday, these kicks sport a white patent/full-grain leather upper with a gradient green Flywire-fused midpanel and some fresh metallic gold accents spread throughout the design. As a shout out to the city they were designed for, “CHICAGO” appears printed in metallic gold on the heel section of the Air Max bubble.
Also, as is the case with all the LeBron VII’s from the upcoming City Pack, a still image from the film, More Than A Game, appears on the inner heel section of the upper. To coincide with King James’ visit to the Windy City, 123 pairs will be dropping today, August 11th, at House of Hoops in Chicago and for more info on the LeBron James More Than a Game World Tour, click here. Converse didn’t welcome Rune Glifberg with as much hype as Nike had for Eric Koston. Be that as it may, One Star is surely still happy to have in Glifberg one of the greatest vert skaters ever. To prove their love, Converse gave Rune this exclusive Coolidge Mid. It’s done very simply in black and white and the best way you can tell they’re just for Rune is the black and white Danish flag on the inside of the tongue. We’ll keep you updated on release info for these and any other upcoming Cons skate shoes. via ConverseBlog

The Vans Vault line can always be counted on to bring us a more luxurious spin on the classic Vans aesthetic. The latest offering is the Buffalo High Boot, a premium looking model with a combination of suede and full grain leather on the upper and a traditional vulcanized midsole. The shoe also sports some nice additional style touches like metal eyelet rings and an embossed Vans logo on the ankle. For starters, these will be available in two colorways, a black on black and a light brown/dark brown, both with red laces and white midsoles. Look for these to hit Vans Vault retailers sometime during the Spring 2010 season. Via MarcusTroy.
