Though collabs may seem to be a big deal, in the bigger picture, shoe brands only rely on them for branding and street cred- not sales. Nonetheless, adidas has been on a serious prowl working with other brands and such. Adding to adidas Originals’ ongoing Five Two-3 Project, Nom De Guerre was asked to apply their fashion savvy to these Forum Mids. Following a military motif found in many of their collections, the design approach matches armed forces’ standards in look and function. The details are flawless- from the waxed laces and zippered tongue enclosure, the the sole resembling shooting targets and ankle strap saluting the fallen by looking like gauze bandaging. Though numerous collabs drop every season, few execute to this level. A limited release, try to cop a pair in your size from Extra Butter.
