When the New York Yankees brought in C.C. Sabathia during the last offseason, they knew that his playoff track record had historically been a little shaky, but you’d never know it seeing him mow down the Minnesota Twins yesterday in Game 1 of the ALDS. Maybe it helped a little that the Twins were hung over from both the elation and fatigue of the previous night’s extra-inning play-in game, but we here at Sneaker News think C.C. had a little something extra going for him last night. The imposing Sabathia took the mound in a crisp pair of Concord Air Jordan XI baseball cleats, possibly a benefit of teammate Derek Jeter’s Jordan Brand affiliation. CC’s been wearing JB all year long, but it was great to see him pull these out for the playoffs. Maybe the next time we see him he’ll be wearing the black 3’s much like the football version. That would be nice!!!
