News surfaced the other day that many Korean sneakerheads were planning on boycotting the release of the Rising Sun edition of the Air Jordan XII because they were unhappy with the military implications of the “Rising Sun” flag on the insoles. Apparently, Korean collectors got pretty organized in a hurry, starting a petition and getting various media organizations involved. The noise made by the uprising was enough to force Jordan Brand’s hand into producing an alternate plain White insole for the Asian release of the shoe in an effort to show some sensitivity towards the issue. lmao, you know some of that stuff flightclub said, even though it needs to be spell-checked, makes sense. all these people in the US and on these sites are talking about not liking fusions and what not, and probably could get them stopped or atleast only certain jordan shoes used if people would get organized. but I dont think americans are stupid, just alittle lazier than other countries/cultures sometimes.

boycott the release of XII is what they should’ve done, since tinker got his idea from japan and the rising sun, boycott the IX while u at it, it has japanese on the bottom. personally i think it’s pointless, politics and fashion design shouldn’t be put together.

Interesting comments…. What a lot of you don’t realize is that for the shoes that are floating around and have the rising sun flag symbol in the sole, have just made them rare and more valuable. Now they are worth 2-3 times the amount because of the innersole. I bet you will see a few videos about this on youtube.
