Kanye West’s collaboration with Nike on his Nike Air Yeezy was arguably the most talked about shoe this year and the demand around these shoes is still huge, even months after their release. What most people don’t know is that these shoes were actually created for Kanye’s Glow In The Dark Tour. Mark Smith and Kanye West set out to create a shoe that would not only be a collaboratin between Nike and the Louis Vuitton Don but also create a piece of footwear that would offer support and stability to ‘Ye while he was performing across the world. If you are checking out this site right now, chances are that you have a strong love for sneakers. Other than rocking a crisp pair daily and talking kicks with your friends, most people don’t usually take the appreciation for their footwear much further than that. Never let it be said that Eddie Cruz isn’t loyal to his city. Eddie has been putting his Los Angeles pride front and center when designing his offerings to Nike’s East vs West Rivals Pack. We have already seen his Lakers Air Force 1 Low dipped in some Purple and Gold and a Dodgers Dunk High sporting a Royal Blue/Red color scheme and now, since L.A. is currently without a professional football team, Cruz has decided to rep for one of the nation’s premier college football programs. This Dunk High Supreme has been dipped in the Crimson and Gold of the USC Trojans, with the scale-like material found on some of his other creations providing some extra flavor on this pair. A Grey midsole and crisp White laces finish off the look, making this Dunk another eagerly awaited release from the East vs West series. These are expected to hit select retailers in December, but this size 9 sample can be scooped up a little early courtesy of JasonWhite9 on eBay.

The sneaker and art worlds seem to cross paths quite a bit nowadays, whether it be through artist collaborations or simply through appreciation of sneaker design itself, but here we have a look at a custom concept that blends the two genres in a pretty unique and impressive way. Most of the artist collaborations we see take a contemporary approach to design, but rarely do we see some of the masters of wayback represented on a fresh pair of kicks. There were of course the Piet Mondrian-inspired Dunk SB’s, but these take the notion of art appreciation to an entirely new level. Customizer Diversitile has ambitiously chosen to apply scenes and imagery from Michaelangelo’s epic Sistine Chapel painting on a Nike Blazer High. As you can see, both shoes have been masterfully painted with added touches like an aged marble effect covering select areas of the shoe and even fully wearable painted insoles and a special collector’s box. Boston Celtics’ Forward, Rasheed Wallace, has always been known to wear Nike Air Force 1 High’s, regardless of the fact that Nike has since created hundreds and hundreds of Basketball shoes since the Air Force 1 in 1985. ‘Sheed was recently spotted in an unidentifiable pair of Nike Air Force 1 High’s in all Black with an Ice (clear) colored midsole and outsole. There’s no more information at the moment as to whether or not these will ever be released but if they are expect them to be extremely limited.

The tongue is brown mesh, with black inner lining, black laces, shiny black metal eyelets, and a black Nike logo panel. A bright white midsole adds contrast to this earth toned Blazer Mid. A new colorway of the Air Max ST was recently released which features a white, light grey and blue upper, constructed from mesh and faux nubuck. One of Nike’s lesser-known models is the Air Royal Mid. The Air Royal Mid looks as though it is a combination of some of Nike’s most popular high tops including the Air Jordan 1, the Nike Terminator, the Nike Big Nike and the Dunk high. The Whole upper is constructed from black patent leather except for the black suede toe detail, with a full rubber midsole and outsole. Last month, images emerged of a pretty intriguing upcoming Nike SB Dunk Low, that not only sports a fresh look, but also features one of the more creative outside-the-box concepts that we’ve ever seen on an SB sneaker, and that’s saying something. At first glance, the shoe sports a nice solid Black denim upper with a Black patent Swoosh, White midsole and heeltab and a Red outsole, but the most interesting touches are a little more concealed. In addition to the plush furry Black lining inside the ankle collar, as you may have already seen (or heard), when you press the tongues on these, you can hear the sound of a chirping bird, making it pretty easy for collectors to come up with a nickname for these. Nike SB helped put the Bruin back into circulation with last April’s collaboration with Supreme. Since then, many sneakerheads have been reminded of the Bruin’s classic look, not to mention the new skate-friendly SB makeover. Aesthetically, not much has changed from the original Bruin design, but there’s something about throwing that SB tag on there that makes them instantly more desirable.
