Successful persuasion often sandwiches a critique between two compliments. First off, Solebox is clearly the winner in 2009′s collaboration count. The problem is, their releases are often ridiculously limited (as this pair is at a scant 31 pairs). It’s a problem made even worse because Hikmet’s design work is so excellent. In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Reebok’s Pump, Berlin’s best known sneaker boutique put a premium touch on the classic basketball shoe. Bungee cord laces, supple black leather, glow in the dark eyelets and memory foam on the tongue are all nice, but the light-up Pump takes this pair to a whole ‘nother level. Anyone in central Europe around November 20th should mark the date and let us know if you can get an extra size 12. Check out a video of the illuminated Pump in action after the jump.

Michael Lau created a crazy wood grain Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski to commemorate the tenth anniversary of his Gardner vinyl figurines. A set dropped in LA at the ‘Gardner Tenth’ exhibition, each pair of shoes along with a randomly coloured toy. Turns out that wasn’t the only chance you have at getting these maple-toned beauties along with a bright plastic companion. It’ll be an NY Fat 12″ figure in either purple, red, orange, green or one of two shades of yellow along with the kicks, now avaiable at Kix-Files.

The quote-unquote Gucci look has been one of the most popular colourways for this season. This is the second Nike Dunk High Premium to feature the combination of forest green, deep red and black. DJ Clark Kent’s version repped the East coast for the Rivalry Pack but this joint is a little more specific. Released by Nike SB, these were originally designed by Girl Skateboards in 2005 to drop alongside the Diamond Supply ‘Tiffany’ Nike SB Dunk Low.
Apparently Crailtap wasn’t happy that Girl would give such a dope design to Nike, given their own Lakai footwear label. They axed the project, but now we’re getting an updated version for late 2009. These come with ‘RESN’ on the tongue tag, a shout to Girl’s Sam Smyth, who used to spray that tag for the IBC crew all over the Bay Area. You can grab yours in advance of the US release from Korean e-tailer Kasina.

Nike made sure we had alot to choose from this Halloween. From the GS-sized series to the Day of the Dead Quickstrikes Pack, they’ve all included healthy doses of orange and black. This Nike SB Dunk Low Premium takes the ghoulish colourup a step further, adding green spark leather to the underlay and purple laces and constrast stitching. The closest thing to rocking a pair of pumpkins in terms of holiday relevance, your can cop these today from RMKstore on eBay.

With Jay-Z its most notable supporter so far, its only right to see the Nike RT1 in all black. These go with an all leather construction that relies on perforations on the underlay to add some depth. These would be perfect for any situation where your kicks shouldn’t shine brighter than the rest of your outfit. Grab yours today from 95Soleman on eBay.

The Air Jordan 16.5 Team is one of the smoothest Jordan Brand hybrids yet. The Air Jordan XVI (16) and Air Jordan XVII (17) designs were similar enough that the combination has a natural feel to it, but because Mike rocked the AJ17s (and a few 16s as well) while playing for Washington, we didn’t see any red-on-black bangers like these during his second comeback. Make sure they get seen this time around and cop a pair today from FinishLine.

Was it really scandalous for Nike to remove the strap from its Vandal hightop? While there may be a few V-heads out there clamoring for purity, chances are the Nike Air Scandal was just named to rhyme with the original’s name. This pair pictured above is sure to make even more people angry, as it’s only avaialble in women’s sizes. Ladies will find the woven textile upper framed quite nicely by black leather accents. They’re available today from Schuh-You.

This pair of Nike Trainer 1s is so authentic, they even have the same goofy letter spacing that plagues alot of MLB uniforms to this day. The kearning of button up jerseys has always suffered in the overlap, so this pair that features ‘NEW’ ‘YORK’ on the right and left tongues, respectively, looks just right in its off balance orientation. The rest of this Yankees-inspired design is spot on as well, from the perfect mix of navy, white and reflective metallic silver hits to the contrast stitching and Flywire that both insinuate pinstripes. We know Yankees fans are a passionate bunch so we’ll keep you posted on their release.

With samples floating around and the Chicago-style hightop version already released, it’s about time for Eddie Cruz’ purple and gold Nike Air Force 1 Low to hit retail shelves. Not only does his lowcut entry into the East vs. West Rivals Pack rock the LA Lakers’ colours, it goes with this audacious faux-gatorskin construction that ensure these are some of the most eye-catching kicks in a good while. Grab yours when they hit the House of Hoops next Saturday, October 24th.

Nike is by far the largest footwear and athletic company in the world, but they still realize the value of their local distributor. Their skateboarding division has opened a new microsite titled ‘Nike SB: Support Your Local’ that currently showcases Enfield, CT’s Skate Lair alongside Chicago’s Uprise. Both have extensive photo capsules from Todd Jordan, who seeks to show “some of the faces that have been there . . . back when it was still considered derelict.” Check out more photos after the jump, including plenty from the Nike SB Fall/Holiday ’09 apparel collection.
