Other than ‘classic’, ‘Infrared’ is likely the strongest single word association when your impetus is the Nike Air Max 90. Approaching 20 years in the running game, the AM90 has received a couple of updates over the last year-plus, adding Free soles and/or Flywire. This pair of Air Max 90 Currents (Free sole, no Flywire) goes hard with an all black upper that mixes mesh, leather, nubuck and ostrich leather just like the updated pair of white/infrared update from last year. Infrared hits on everything ribbed demand attention on their own, but the application of a translucent plastic makes them pop even harder. We expect these later in the year, so stick with Sneaker News for updates. via SF

After a stretch where Nike SB diehards were beginning to lose faith, the brand has recently been coming back strong with some nice new designs that feature the same kind of creativity that made the SB line such a hit in the first place. We’re sure you’ve already seen some of the more daring offerings like this month’s Brain Wreck and Blood Splatter Quickstrikes, but there are also some other interesting models on the way soon. In addition to some new Blazer SB and Bruin SB colorways, we will also soon be treated to the Orange Un-Hemp Dunk SB Low and the Gucci Dunk SB High. Rounding out this upcoming SB preview are two more Dunks, one a Navy/Black perf Low version and the other a Light Blue/Red High model known as the Bloody Gums. Also pictured are some upcoming releases from Nike Sportswear and Jordan Brand like the Air Maxim Trainer 1 and the Jordan Hallowed Ground, but obviously the big story here is the Nike SB kicks. Look for these styles soon at Kasina, with some of them hitting their store as early as tomorrow.

The Nike Blazer Mid ACG Premium is designed to keep your foot protected for the rough winter weather. This pair goes an interesting route, applying a lenticular hologram upper that we’ve never seen on a boot before. It reminds you what’s being protected by revealing an x-ray depicting a rough estimate of your own tarsal structure that changes depending on what angle you’re examining. They’re available at Nike Sportswear retailers including the 21 Mercer St. location today.

The upcoming White/Black/Varsity Red version of the Air Max LeBron VII made a big splash when it was first officially unveiled back in August. Since then, we’ve seen some other colorways pop up like the Red Carpet and Olympic versions, as well as the City Pack and Artist Series installments from the More Than A Game World Tour, and most recently the China Moon edition. As you’re probably aware, the first inline release will be hitting retailers later this month, but if you have already waited long enough for these stunners, we bring you the good news that you can get your pair early from 95soleman on eBay.

In a move that can only boost his international notoriety, NBA superstar Kobe Bryant has featured in the latest issue of L’Uomo Vogue, the Italian version of Men’s Vogue. In addition to getting the cover, Kobe is also the subject of a nice photo spread and article inside the pages of the magazine. Kobe shows off his fashion swagger in some fresh fits from top designers like Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Giorgio Armani, of course with a crispy pair of Zoom Kobe IV’s finishing off the outfits. Check out some more pics of Kobe stylin’ after the jump and you can find a copy of the magazine wherever L’Uomo Vogue is sold. Via KB24.

When the legendary animator Chuck Jones created a giant orange monster named ‘Gossamer‘, he was both being ironic and setting up a gag 35 years later that suggested Gossamer is made entirely of hair. The ‘Savage Beast’ Air Force 1 Low has a bit more to it, but they’re sure to draw as much attention as the monster’s signature oversized white kicks (cartoon Chuck Taylors?). As time has passed, we wondered if we’d be able to get these in time for the Halloween festivities, and are now relieved to learn that they have just arrived at 21 Mercer, and for those who are not in the NYC area, you can grab a pair now from RMK on eBay.

New colorways of the Air Jordan Spiz’ike have been popping up left and right lately. We’ve recently showed you some sneak previews of some upcoming Spiz’ike colorways like the Mars Blackmon edition, the almost “Grape” version and the Black/White/Red pair that was recently mistaken for a DJ Clark Kent design. Now, we get to feast our eyes on yet another new installment in the Spiz’ike series, this time taking one of the simpler color blocking approaches seen so far. The shoe sports a solid black patent leather upper with a touch of suede and some additional Red and Light Grey accents. No word yet on the release info, but you can expect these to hit stores some time next year. For now, keep reading after the jump for a full look at both sides of the shoe and stay tuned for further info. Via oqium.

Knowing Barack Obama’s love for the game of basketball, former boxer Mitchell Rose came up with the idea to create a b-ball sneaker inspired by the prez. The shoe has been produced and Mitchell has been doing his best to get them into the spotlight. NBC News did a story on the Obama shoe that started out pretty objective, but then took a turn for the worse when the news crew stopped by Alife to see what they thought of the sneaker. To make matters even worse, Ghostface practically lost it after seeing the Obama kicks in a segment of Ed Lover’s C’Mon Son. Keep reading for a look at two video clips profiling the sneaker and people’s reactions to it and be sure to let us know what you think. Via NahRight.

Last month brought us some nice looks at the China Moon edition of the Air Max LeBron VII and to the delight of those that were impressed by the shoe, we are happy to report that they will be hitting U.S. soil this weekend. The color scheme of the shoe gives the LeBron VII a flashy look without going too far over the top. It features a White leather upper with a heavy dose of Metallic Gold and some stylish nods to the Chinese “Moon Festival” like the graphics in the medial window and the Chinese characters on the insole. If you’ve been waiting on these, get on your game this weekend, because these beauties will be dropping at House of Hoops locations this Saturday, October 17th. Via FootLockerUnlocked.
