A third place finish might not have been the plan for Lance Armstrong at this year’s Tour de France, but it’s undoubtable that his amazing (second) comeback brought more attention to his LIVESTRONG fight against cancer. A major part of that, of course, was Nike’s huge yellow and black collection that included the Stages Collection and many others. This City Pack of Nike Zoom Tiempos was each designed by one of the ‘Cutters’ who rode from London to Paris this year, on fixies, no less! The New York, LA, Tokyo and London editions are releasing today with 100% of proceeds benefitting the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Click the jump below for more photos and a list of Nike Sportswear retailers who will have the Tiempo City Pack.

The reigning NBA MVP has yet to win a championship, but he already has three signature sneakers. The latest of his tertiary kicks, the Nike Zoom LeBron Ambassador II is rated ‘ORAP’ or ‘Outdoor Rubber Asia Pacific’, denoting its rugged XDR sole and intended region of release. We’re glad to have the XDR, even if this white shoe will never stay clean for streetball, and even happier that the internet lets us cop them irrespective of region. Get yours from ID4Shoes on eBay.

Saturday, October 10th, 2009. The day that the House of Hoops opens at Northline Mall in Houston, TX could very well be the last, considering the ridiculous fire hazard that’s sitting in there. They really brought the heat for this opening, and while the Cherry Hill, NJ store got some love of its own with a duo of Philly Hyperizes for the occassion, when you get a look at the list of stuff they have in store, you might think somebody in Foot Locker corporate was from ‘Space City’.
The Astros and Rockets were both named for Johnson Space Center and each gets its own Hyperize, but that’s just the start. Jordan Brand offers its own duo with the bred Air Jordan Force XIII (AJF 13) and a brand new Air Jordan 1 High Strap in white with navy and red accents. Rounding out this apparently incomplete list is a huge run of reissues from earlier HoH-exclusives including, but not limited to (deep breath): Hypermax Tennis Ball Pack, Reggie Miller Air Total Max Uptempo PE, Air Penny II Retro in black and copper, Zoom Kobe IVs for Lower Merion and Rice, Zoom LeBron Soldier IIIs for Christ the King and SVSM, the Phi Slamma Jamma Big Nike High and the Hyperize Decades Pack (whew!). Check out photos of these tape-cutting kicks in just that order and if you’re in H-town, head over to Northline and check it out.

Earlier today, we gave you a pretty crisp peek at the White/Black/Red colorway of the upcoming Air Jordan 2010, and now we get to feast our eyes on our best look yet at the Black/Red/Grey pair that popped up via grainy cell phone pics a couple weeks ago. These new images not only give us full shots of both sides of the shoe, but they’re also much clearer, allowing for a far better appreciation of the colors and materials. As you can see, this color scheme takes a “Bred” approach, using a mostly Black upper with a Grey midsole and accents and additional hits of Red on the outsole, tongue logo and on the heel section of the ankle. One thing of note is that the over-sized Jumpman logo that appears on the midpanel is done in a tonal Black on these, so its presence is a little more subtle than on the pair seen earlier in the day. Keep reading after the jump for a look at the medial side of the shoe and be sure to stick around for more pics and info as it becomes available. Let us know how you think these stack up against the other colorway, and if you can’t wait to get your hands on a pair, you can already pre-order now from Osneaker.

Were his Comedy Central show still on the air, Dave Chappelle might have ammo for another ‘Haters Ball’ skit with this release. The Air Jordan Force XIII (13) represents the biggest stretch so far for the AJF series. Not only is the signature element of the AJF series, its Air Force 1 sole, altered to include the Air Jordan XIII’s sole pods, but the AJ13′s toe had to be resculpted to match. If you like the way these came together, you can cop them from ID4Shoes on eBay.

News surfaced the other day that many Korean sneakerheads were planning on boycotting the release of the Rising Sun edition of the Air Jordan XII because they were unhappy with the military implications of the “Rising Sun” flag on the insoles. Apparently, Korean collectors got pretty organized in a hurry, starting a petition and getting various media organizations involved. The noise made by the uprising was enough to force Jordan Brand’s hand into producing an alternate plain White insole for the Asian release of the shoe in an effort to show some sensitivity towards the issue. Keep reading after the jump to see some more pics and to compare the new insole with the original “Rising Sun” version. Via Shoesholic.

Yokohama, Japan’s annual Mighty Crown Reggae Festival is 15 this year, but that still makes it about half the age of Nike’s nearly thirty year old Dynasty High basketball sneaker. It makes sense, then, to see alot of different design elements from across the past few decades on this collaboration. This black and red hightop has a glittery gold section just below the ankle collar, punctuated at the top by a gold-on-red studded ankle strap. Throw in some tonal black Hufquake on the midsole and you’ve got quite alot of the last three decades right there on one shoe. Cop yours today from Kix-Files.

What’s the chance that Tony Baker is a big fan of early Air Jordans? With his utterly amazing new Nike Air Force 1 Low Bespoke, Baker takes us back to the late 80s by way of 1993, mixing ‘Aqua’, ‘Grape’ and ‘Cement’ into one cohesive design. As with all Bespokes brought to life at Nike Sportswear’s 21 Mercer St. flagship in NYC, the quality is immediately visible on the super rich nubuck toe. This area is a nice minty shade of green, practically begging for the purple hits on side panels, laces and heel tabs to come complete the Aqua/Grape look. And they can go either way, thanks to a white leather Swoosh and the cement grey elephant print that all at once adds depth and balance. Kudos to Tony for such a well thought-out design. Is this the best of all Bespoke Air Force 1s?

East vs. West makes sense and North vs. South is an old school stretch, but England vs. Holland? While our picture of Europe might be all lovey-dovey, Nike has extended their Rivals Pack theme to encompass these two collaborations. The Cassette Playa x Nike Dunk High Premium reps the UK with its ravey/blacklit look, while Parra’s Nike Air Maxim 1+ takes a black base in a totally different direction for the Amsterdam set. Both have spawned related tee-shirts and leather varsity jackets in similar colours and themes and all of this collaborative goodness is available today at Nike Sportswear’s flagship store at 21 Mercer St. in SoHo, NYC.

USC has a great football tradition, but their inclusion in the NCAA pack of Nike Hyperize PEs was something of a mystery. Southern Cal may have gotten some (illegitimate?) attention when Tim Floyd brought OJ Mayo to town, but other than that, it’s hard to compare their basketball program to Jim Calhoun’s reign of success in Storrs, Connecticut (even with his own recent allegations). Just when you feel like you can english-major a meaning out of that pairing, in come Texas and Illinois to further muddy the picture. Now what it looks like is a bunch of contending schools, with the new Longhorn and Illini joints going with black and navy blue, respectively, for a nice away look. Both have dropped alongside the USC and UConn Nike Hyperize PEs at House of Hoops.

Every year, sneakerheads anxiously wait on the edge of their seats to get a look at the new signature Air Jordan model that arrives annually. Reactions vary once we get a look at the shoe, but up until that point, we daydream of what might be coming and expectations are always high. A few weeks back, we brought you a look at a sample photo of the Black/Red/Grey Air Jordan 2010 colorway, and now we finally get our best look yet at what figures to be at least pretty close to the finished version. As you can see, it looks as though the shoe sports a variety of materials on the upper with areas of patent, suede and full-grain leather and a perforated midsection covered by the extra large circle Jumpman logo. Stay tuned for more on the Air Jordan 2010 in the near future and be sure to let us know what you think of what you’ve seen so far. Via HoopChina.
