Air Jordan Silver Anniversary White Collection – Part 1

Between Chris Paul’s now infamous Twitter photo and the History of Flight feature, we have already gotten a few peeks at the Air Jordan Silver Anniversary White Collection. After unveiling their Red/White Anniversary display a few weeks ago, now Jordan Brand has begun to give us a clearer look at the White on Whites. Here we get a look at five of the Air Jordan models in a clean a look as they’ll ever get. Although we do get a look at the Air Jordan 1, the others that have been revealed skip around a little bit. In addition to the AJ1, we also get a gander at the VI, XI, XVI and XXI in all their crispy White glory. As previously reported, there are no plans to release these for retail, but you can keep reading after the jump for a look at all five, and stay tuned for the next batch in the very near future. Michael Jordan x Nike x Wheaties Vintage Collectible Posters

As you know, in addition to the latest releases and upcoming styles, occasionally, we also like to take a look back at the history side of the sneaker culture. Last week, we brought you a nice retrospective look at many of Nike’s most memorable print ads from the 80′s and 90′s, and now we take a moment to remember another piece from the Nike/Michael Jordan legacy. Aside from more talked-about endorsement deals like the ones with Nike, Gatorade and Hanes, Michael also graced the front of his fair share of Wheaties cereal boxes back in the day. Back in 1989, the “Breakfast of Champions” teamed up with MJ and Nike for a set of four collector’s posters. The two horizontal images will be pretty familiar to Jordan fans, but the vertical posters feature shots that are slightly more obscure.

Many of our readers will be looking at these pics, remembering this juicy Wheaties offer and kicking themselves for not holding on to them all these years. Whether you used to have these on your wall or just wish you did, keep reading after the jump for a look at all four Jordan x Nike x Wheaties posters from the 1989 set, plus some vintage Wheaties commercials featuring His Airness. Celebrity Feet: Jay Z – Kanye West x Louis Vuitton Jaspers – Black

Jay-Z and Diddy were spotted leaving Rihanna’s Rated R Album Release Party in New York City last week. While we’re not sure what Diddy was wearing, Jay-Z was seen in a pair of all Black Kanye West x Louis Vuitton Jasper’s. This isn’t the first pair of the Kanye and Louis Vuitton collaboration sneaker we’ve seen HOVA in, it was only a few months ago that he was seen wearing a pair of the Grey Dons in Los Angeles. It seems that now that he’s going to wear “all Black everything” he had to make the switch over to the all Black Jaspers. via CONCRETELOOP

Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier IV First Look

Why is it that whenever we’re ready to move onto a next generation of a signature series, new designs of previous styles surface like a weasel trying to ruin the party.  Stealing some spotlight from designs of the new Air Max Lebron, this Zoom Soldier IV seems to feature tooling from all previous Lebrons, along with elements like patent leather and carbon fiber.  With a medial panel wearing a faux Flywire and quilted inner lining, this could have well been mistaken as King James’ new sig if we haven’t been acquainted with his newest addition already.  via HoopsChina.

UPDATE: It was originally reported that these are the Zoom Soldier IV, but it has since been brought to our attention that these are not in fact the next Soldier model. We’re not sure yet what exactly this model will be used for, or if it will be released at all, but from the looks of these pics, it seems that a lot of our readers would like to get their hands on a pair. We’ll keep you posted when more info becomes available.

Nike Air Force 1 Low Brazil 2005 Unreleased Sample Available on eBay

There is such a thrill when you’re browsing eBay and come across an old gem or a sample. Grails that you never had a chance to cop when it first released. Or simply because you were too young to have even contemplated copping it (the latter we’re clearly talking about much older shit). With samples, it’s the thought that you have something that never released, or possibly did come out but its final rendition shows slight variations. If these scenarios apply, then you’re already enthused about these joints that are samples from 2005. Supposedly influenced by Brasil, Nike might have conjured up a green and yellow look with the success of the Buck Dunk SB’s. The AF1′s, however show more love for the yellow over green, and also feature a felt material for the vamp and middle panel. Definitely an interesting addition to a collection, you can bid on ‘em now from Cigar0330 on eBay.

adidas Top Ten High Black Collegiate Red

The adidas Top Ten may be overlooked, but this is a true OG. And the term is used in its initial purpose- original gangsta. Being around for 30 years, this shoe has paid its dues, and has transcended trends and fads.  Like the blue pair we showed the other day, these play with black and red, featuring the same combination of leather and perforated leather on the toebox, lacestays and padded collars. Expect these to start popping up at Footlocker.

Nike RT1 High Dark Cinder Gum Yellow Available

2009 has brought a new trend of making athletic footwear resemble more of a boot look, mixing form with function. Some made simply with a more rugged sole to substitute for a clunkier hiker. Some are simply resemble a dress shoe, but better provide a more cushioned stride.  Other designs, however, opt for a classic work boot motif.  This RT1, with its tan/wheat color, gives nods to the hard workers that make everyday living comfortable.  Pretty much rockable with anything that you were wearing with your Tims, these can be scooped up from JSeller on eBay.

Reebok Kamikaze 2010 Preview

When a signature shoe is retroed, or a new footwear design is based off a retro look, we can’t help but reminisce the greatness of those whom these shoes were made for. The Air Jordan line continues to show the legacy MJ will leave behind. The recent rise of retros and new versions of Air Trainers makes us remember what BO KNOWS. Reebok’s recent anniversary capsule recalled Dominique’s powerful dunks. But there are tons of other athletes from years past we tend to forget. Shawn Kemp is one of those frequently forgotten ballers, despite his underrated reign during the 90′s. Many still with that Reebok would retro the Kamikaze II (1995), but don’t get worked up- it doesn’t look like it’s happening. Rather, the brand decided to pay homage in another way. Like Nike’s 1/2 Cent, creating a new shoe in order to tribute to past successful signatures shoes, Reebok will create a whole new Kamikaze.

Set to drop sometime next year, the new sig will feature a similar silhouette with new tooling. Rather than the thick jagged lines that made the previous Kamikaze’s so unique, the profile will don giant Reebok branding. What ties it back to previous models is the pinstripes that convey the same energy. The different tooling of the instep also sets it apart from the two previous models, reflecting upon the progression of basketball sneaker designs throughout the years. Technology is obviously new as well, fitted with the latest Hex-Ride cushioning in the sole. The Kamikaze 2010 will first release in a dope white/black/teal or slick black/white. Too bad Reebok can’t also revive the Reignman’s balling skills. via US10.
