Todd Bratrud’s insane ‘Brain Wreck’ Nike SB Dunk High Premium was one of the most creative collaborative visions that made its way to retail this year. When we first peeped a sample during a June Nike SB showcase, we expected the heels to have their designer’s name, but he flipped the script to reveal a cohesive theme on behalf of Skate Mental. As for SM, they were to be incorporated in the special ‘NIKE SM’ tag on this variant sample’s tongue, but that was nixed in favour of one with blue accents.
With this in mind, you can start Waldo-ing all the differences: the sample outsole was pink instead of black, sample toe is light grey instead of pink. Probably the two most significant changes were stitching: the sample only had an outline of the amazingly-detailed quilting found on the released edition, plus its heel is screened on instead of embroidered. This is the kind of ridiculously rare stuff that truly great collections are made of, and one size 9 pair is available at MentalKicks.

This is one of the few times lots of changes have been made to a sample and the released shoe looks WAUY BETTER then the sample imo.

like these better than the release. if the white swoosh was speckled like the release that would of been dope and the stitching in the insole too. put the blue laces on these suckers and these are the best blue box to release f*ck the Gucci’s

inside is cooler on the originals, other then that these are way way better. the white toebox is amazing, the pink toebox ruins these shoes for me.

u got to be out of yo mind if u think these look better the the originals these are coo but i would never jump at these like the others

Yeah tdipped!!! The finished product is in a class by itself. I got them the first day they dropped in NYC flightclub. The blue laces definately brings the shoe out. Not taking away from the sample @ all…

which ones are the legit ones, cause these have pink insides but all the ones on stores and ebay etc have grey brain patterned insides.

@15
As stated in the title, these are samples. The actual release features brain ‘quilting’ on the sockliner.
