Washington D.C. native, Wale, was in attendance at the GQ Men of the Year party in Los Angeles this past Wednesday along with a number of other celebrities including Kobe Bryant, Drake, and more. Wale, Drake, and Kid Cudi were also featured in this year’s GQ Men of the Year issue. For this special occasion, Wale broke out his Air Jordan VI Retro+’s in the Olympic colorway that were released back in 2000, and matched it with his Washington Nationals’ New Era 59FIFTY fitted cap.

I know he’s trying to be himself but C’MON SON!!!!!! You can rock a nice fitted suit with some shelltoes, blazers or even the concords… he could’ve stayed true to the kicks but the outfit was not fitting for the occasion IMO. Where was his stylist???? This was a great opportunity for him to show the world another side of him and he BLEW it… Just like the KUSH he had before this PARTY….LOL

Anyways, yeah. For an event like this you don’t come to it dressed in that. I’m all for being yourself and dressing how you want, but you’re at a formal GQ event, put a suit on. As much as you love DC you don’t need a Washington fitted on all the time.
