Converse keeps the good will coming thanks to their latest (PRODUCT) RED offering, which provides one of the freshest concepts yet for the iconic Chuck Taylor All-Star. Chucks have been around for decades, and somehow, Converse is still coming up with some imaginative new takes on the original design. This version of the shoe sports a red leather upper inspired by motorcycle jackets, and even goes as far as to include zippers on the back of the heel and along the eyelet strips to stay true to the biker theme. The shoe also boasts a quilted lining and a white leather midsole decorated with some nice stitching and detailing. If you like what you see, these will be available for purchase on World AIDS Day, December 1st, at (RED) store locations, as well as Converse.com and other select Converse retailers. As always, a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Global Fund’s efforts to fight AIDS in Africa. Via Hypebeast.

Chien-Ming Wang might be the Yankees’ ‘Jared Jeffries‘, but both mediocre stat-guys are getting dope NY-themed PEs. Wang is capitalizing on the Yanks’ twenty-seventh World Series championship with another Nike PE. These split the difference between Wang’s Air Max 1 PE and the recent NYY Trainer 1: it’s a Trainer 1 in the Yankee palette (notice how the Flywire strands perfectly match the pinstripes on the rear quarter) that prominently features his logo, a ‘King’ character that looks like a literally-fireball-throwing pitcher whirling toward home. Stick with Sneaker News for updates on their release.

Its sockliner gave the ‘Fresh Since 1985′ Air Jordan Spiz’ike its nickname, so we’re naturally curious about this new model‘s guts. It reads, “A death-defying, high-flying 360 degree dunk”, a phrase that worked well in the early 90′s commercial, but not so much as a memorable moniker. ‘Black Cement’ might be a good name, since that’s exactly what they feature. This healthy portion of ‘blank’ space helps the red, white and blue accents avoid looking like a Patriot Pack. Take a good look at the detailed shots after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates. via Kinstor

Some of you might have seen these and some of you may not have seen them since we launched them late Friday afternoon, so we’ve put all the photos into one post for your enjoyment. Created as a sort of sequel to the ‘History of Flight’ white-on-white collection, this massive spread adds in some Chicago hometown flavor. We have over six pages of exclusive photos after the jump, including detailed shots of every one of the first twenty-four Air Jordans in this brand new palette. You might notice that the Air Jordan 2010 is absent, which makes us wonder if Dwyane Wade will pop up in something similar at the American Airlines Center.

With the comeback of the Foam species, as well as the 1/2 Cent’s creation, we reflect on an underrated NBA superstar from the diminishing years of b-ball’s golden era. When you guys first came across the Foams, did you expect it to blow up to where it is now? Let’s be real, I’m sure a bunch of you gawked in utter doubt. It’s success wasn’t because the masses randomly appreciated it’s progressive look, but rather based immensely on Anfernee Hardaway’s growing popularity. My man Penny held it down for Orlando, especially when Shaq suffered injuries in around ’95. The big man’s move to LA only forced Penny to step his game up even more. Some may be too young to recall this, only recollecting his career with the Suns. Or maybe even later with NY and Miami, as his stats plummeted. But let’s look at the 96′ Olympics. Hardaway’s consistent playing, clutch plays in the quarters against Brazil, and then his 17-point game in the finals against Yugoslavia, undoubtedly contributed to US Gold.
Of course, it really can’t be argued that some amount of his success, as well as his signature kicks, was due to the aid of humourous Nike campaigns. Lil Penny was a huge hit with basketball fans, even transcending into other aspects of pop culture (No diggety, no doubt). Whatever his mark on individuals be, the Nike Air Foamposite One is one of the brand’s biggest hits. This Dirty Copper Foam is a clever testament to the greatness of the brand’s creativity, the shoe itself, and Penny’s legacy to the game. You can get these now at osneaker.com. Among the best-received colourways in the Nike Zoom LeBron VII (7) series is soon-to-be-re-released ‘Red Carpet’ NFW edition. You know that these go with a woven side panel instead of the other AML7s’ Flywire-equipped pattern, but the model pictured above is even more stripped-down. That’s ‘cos it’s a Z-Corp 3D resin model, which is a computerized sample that helps designers work on their colourblocking decisions. Apparently, LeBron James wanted a brand-new ALM7 for the More Than a Game premier, and this is how Jason Petrie mocked it up. via SC

Kobe Bryant ‘jumped’ over a pool filled with snakes to show the cast of Jackass just how amazing the then-new Nike Hyperdunk can be. The Hyperdunk certainly benefited from this and the Aston Martin ‘jump’, but it’s also just a solid basketball shoe. Whether you plan to wear yours while risking your life, or maybe just on the court, you’ll be delighted to see this new Nike Hyperdunk Low celebrating the ‘Snake Pool’. It comes in a yellow and purple mix that is quite similar to the gradient Zoom Kobe IVs, but this one’s a little simpler in its colourblocking. They won’t hit retailers for a while, but you can grab a pair in US mens size 8.5 from Marquee Sole.

While sneakerhead culture, and streetwear in general have grown up in recent years, most still can’t match the gaudy price and exclusivity in buying Christian Louboutin sneakers. Naturally, things like the DJ AM Memorial Fund Auctions buck this general statement, but even most of those can’t hold a candle to this pair’s $1200 MSRP. Whether they’ll appreciate in value like DJ AM’s kicks remains to be seen, but we’d definitely take caution to avoid having these studded kicks depreciate your pants-wardrobe. Pairs in white or black will drop next Spring at select Louboutin retailers. via HS//BagaholicBoy

Supreme’s place at the head of the sneaker collaboration table is something they’ve earned by repeatedly issuing insanely high-quality teamwork. More of these A+ efforts have come with a Vans logo than any other, so we’re glad to see them teaming up once again. The Supreme x Vans 106 collection adds a cross-branded effort for the first time in this Authentic-like lowtop’s short history. There are four different colourways here, two in solid black or orange, with the other two going for a pastel ‘camouflage’ look (think a less-loud Bape). Expect these online and in-store at Supreme on Black Friday, November 27th. via HB
