adidas Originals can always be counted on for some interesting releases, but the inspiration for their latest collaboration reaches all the way out into a galaxy far, far away. This coming January, adidas will be introducing their new Originals Star Wars collection, featuring some iconic characters and imagery from the classic films. Several traditional adidas models will be transformed to take on some characteristics from the likes of Darth Vaider, Luke Skywalker, Yoda and the Storm Troopers. There will also be some pretty imaginative Star Wars apparel to go along with the kicks, as well as some more sneaker models. Check out some more sneak peeks after the jump and we’ll be sure to keep you posted on more from this eagerly awaited Spring 2010 collection. Via Hypebeast/HS.

Statistically, Chien-Ming Wang didn’t have such a great 2009 season, but he’s got nothing to complain about. In addition to a World Series ring with the Yankees, Wang has also just received another Nike PE. You might remember his Air Max 1 PE from a few months back, and now coming on the heels of the New York Yankees Trainer 1, he gets his very own personalized pair. The shoe features a Navy and White Yankees color scheme with a pinstriped heel panel and the Chinese character for his name stitched on top. Some additional accents like multi-colored lace loops add a little extra spice to the shoe, and once we get a look at the tongue, there are sure to be some more touches of interest. There is no word yet on when and if these will be released, but for now, you can get a look at a few more pics after the jump. Via Kenlu.

It’s no secret that sneaker culture is a global concept. All over the world, you can find people with a serious passion for kicks and thanks to the new documentary, Open The Box, we get an inside look at what’s going on with the sneaker scene in Germany. The film features interviews with a variety of accomplished German collectors and of course takes a nice look at some of the treasures that they’ve accumulated over the years, including some seriously vintage heat. Unfortunately, the interviews are in German, but luckily, the sneaker images are a universal language that anyone can appreciate. Keep reading for a look at the trailer and keep an eye out for the full-length documentary in 2010, hopefully with some English subtitles. Via Dunkbar.

Here’s another one of those ‘almost-LIVESTRONG’ palettes, which looks quite good on the Nike Air Max 90. We know that young sneakerheads need some dope exclusives, but can’t help but be a little jealous about how well the neon yellow sections compliment a selection of greys that has some history with Jeff Staple. Then again, the toebox and ankle area are enhanced with a textured nylon. Cop a pair for your little one and light up their holiday with neon. Available from Shaolin8 on eBay.

Pretty much everybody is happy about all the Air Jordan XII Retros this holiday season (well, probably not adidas). Here’s a new Nike Blazer High for women that uses a ‘sunray’ stitch just like the Twelve. These use a black leather base and add gold stitches. The Swooshes are metallic, so when you see how the stitching doubles up around the old school ‘NIKE’ heel tab, you might think of bike spokes. Toss in a cricket emrbroidery on the tongue tag and this is quite a unique take on a classic design. Available from Shaolin8 on eBay.

The most common thing to see in recent years is ‘packs’ of similar sneakers released all at once. Take for example, the twenty Reebok Pumps dropping this weekend in celebration of their two decades in the inflatable cushioning game. Jordan Brand, on the other hand, tends to show us several variations on a similar theme, then stagger the releases over a quarter or so. Enter the Air Jordan 1 High Strap in black with orion blue accents. The metallic gold aglets remind you that this is the same colourblocking on the voltage yellow joints from last month. Complete the set and cop these today. Available from Shaolin8 on eBay.

Over the past few weeks Sneakernews has presented quite a few look-see’s of the new Jordan Motorsports collection- one of which taking the form of an Air Jordan 6 . We’ve read the comments and recognize where people stand; many love it for its refreshing new look, while others may hate for for taking away from the purity of original AJ6 design. Some have even joked about only copping if the new superbike came with it to match.
Despite seeing a pair or two available for sale, most wouldn’t bother to fathom dropping a few G’s to own this Motor team-exclusive pair. But for a true collector, any Jordan Motorsports would be a defiant pair to have- most likely never showing up in anyone else’s stocklist. Good looks to OSneaker for granting a pair to shoot. If you’re one of those who just can’t stop looking at these, make it your new desktop thanks to our new Sneaker Wallpapers section.

Washington D.C. native, Wale, was in attendance at the GQ Men of the Year party in Los Angeles this past Wednesday along with a number of other celebrities including Kobe Bryant, Drake, and more. Wale, Drake, and Kid Cudi were also featured in this year’s GQ Men of the Year issue. For this special occasion, Wale broke out his Air Jordan VI Retro+’s in the Olympic colorway that were released back in 2000, and matched it with his Washington Nationals’ New Era 59FIFTY fitted cap.

You might not realize this because of the small-market team that he plays for, but Kevin Durant is one of the best players in the NBA. In addition to his rising star status in the League, Durant is also bordering on the upper echelon of the Nike Basketball realm as well. After LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, KD is pretty much the next in line as far as the Swoosh’s b-ball line goes. The KD1 was moderately well-received, and now the KD2 is on the horizon with the hopes of making more of a splash for both Durant and Nike in the eyes of the sneakerhead community. We have already seen some looks at the shoe, including the crazy red patent Velvet Hoop edition that KD was spotted in a few months back. Now, we get a peek at three upcoming colorways of the shoe, each with some personality of their own. Keep reading to check out a better look at all three, and stay tuned for more info on these before they begin dropping early next year. Thanks a lot to Shoeniverse for the photos.

Temperatures are dropping and soon we’ll be knee-deep in… snow. We’ve given quite a few selections to choose from, one of which was this Euro Exclusive Winterized Spiz’ike. A top-choice colorway, these got a good response also due to the splatter effect on the heel, distinct to these from the other Spiz’ikes boots. They sold out pretty fast at select retailers as well as the UK Nikestore, but now you have a chance to get a pair of these originally region-specific releases from ID4shoes on eBay.

November seems to be the month of Collaborations and NYC based company Married to the MOB is no exception. Here’s a look at their latest collaboration with Lacoste for the Hironia sneaker. These kicks were clearly made for the females out there, and boast materials like a lavender and black all over lace burn-out print that covers the entire upper. There is also some design inspiration from the famous and very pricey Christian Louboutin shoes sporting the solid “red bottoms”. These collabo kicks are strictly for the ladies and are sure to be a good look for the female sneaker enthusiast. Via Nitrolicious

When you realize that these kicks are Brazilian exclusives, it seems totally natural that yes, those are canaries kicking a soccer ball on the Nike Dunk Low pictured above. Sharing its nickname with Brazil’s national soccer team, this pack of kicks and gear prominently features the tiny birds in all sorts of different forms. No surprise, then, that these are the second set from Nike Sportswear’s Canarinho Collection. The most exciting addition be the new Nike Blazer Low Metro. It’s an update to the retro basketball sneaker that has a slightly Free-like forefoot. These, the Dunks and Tennis Classics, along with some interesting tees will all drop soon and we’ll keep you posted. via Sneakers.BR
