Of the numbered Flight shoes from Jordan Brand, the Flight 45 High is the hottest right now. We’d nearly forgotten about the Air Jordan Flight 23, which aside from its mashup with the AJ1 sole, has been conspicuously absent over the last year or so. Look for that to change as the AJ4-influenced design will return with three drops this spring. The simpler two in this trio are a white leather pair slated for January and some black nubuck joints for February. As with the Flight 45 collection for Spring ’10, the hottest one of these might be the tonal grey pair that features quite a lot of perforation. Enjoy shots of all three after the jump. via SC

Dropping this December is GQ Magazine’s “Men of The Year” Issue. Inside you’ll find some of hip-hop’s heavy hitters in the likes of Wale, Drake and Kid Cudi. The three of them flossing their own distinctive look, not to mention some heat on their feet. Wale, whose been the envy of many with his super-early possession of the Dirty Copper Foams, is once again making viewers drool with the Red Supreme Dunk Hi’s, a huge grail for quite a number of sneakerheads. On the other side, Cudi is wearing a more recent release in the form of the DMP Raptor VII’s. Drake is wearing something that’s pretty much under the radar to the sneaker world, but undoubtedly steals the photo with his Birdman coat and ear-to-ear grin. Good looks to NahRight and AllThings-Fresh for the inside look at the spread.

Back in May, STPL Design had the only to help create a Star Trek Airwalk Terrain Hi, along with an entire STPL x Airwalk collection. To help coincide with the release of the new Star Trek DVD tomorrow, Airwalk has asked STPL to drop a new run of Star Trek shoes. Dubbed the “Starfleet” collection, the Terrain Hi’s feature suede and ballistic nylon riptop, with colorways are induced by the uniforms worn by the various Star Trek members. The pack is now available at STPL’s Reed Space, as well as all Payless locations, with the gold colorway a Payless online-exclusive.

Apparently, in boxing, the answer is ‘Yes’ when the question posed reads: ‘Is it the shoes?’ To be honest, there’s alot more behind Manny Pacquiao’s unprecedented seventh world championship in as many weight classes, but we did see him training in a pair of Nike Trainer 1 x 360s. They’re pretty much the same as the ‘Philippines’ Trainer 1 that sold out immediatly upon hitting NikeStore this Saturday, but instead of a Free/Air setup, this sole goes with the Air Max 360 cushioning unit. No word yet on their release, but if Pac-Man keeps winning gold there will just have to be more kicks, so stick with Sneaker News for updates. via SC

When it comes to Jordan Brand and the Air Jordan series, the ‘icons’ that might first come to mind are, of course, the Jumpman, and probably the OG ‘Wings’ logo (not to mention frozen moments after jumpers in Cleveland and SLC). Strange, then, to see a sneaker dubbed Air Jordan Icons when they’re derived from two shoes that MJ never wore on an NBA floor. This lifestyle fusion model is essentially a pairing of the dope computerized embroidery on the Air Jordan XX3 (23) with the AJXX’s tooling and IPS (Independent Podular Suspension) system. Expect this pair in March of next year. via SC

We’re seeing straps everywhere! Nike has already done a few of these strapped Blazers, but here’s a pair that might lure the skeptical. Do not mistake these for the black 5 strap Blazer we previewed for Spring 2010. These V Lux version are Tier 0 and come equipped with some serious high-quality goodies. An all black layout, the upper is a premium tumbled leather, with cracked leather on the swoosh and some of its other accents. Only available to Tier 0 retailers, this is expected to drop December 1st. via Warped.

The success of the Big Nike High is now transitioning to the low top version. This Big Nike LE is a simple pallette of black with hits of silver, supposedly inspired by the Oakland Radiers. A closer look reveals an interesting mesh layout on the mid panel and the toebox. Not your typical mesh weaving, is is more of a cargo-net construction. The black material against the white backlay creates a nice contrast. Further associating itself with the NFL team, the typical giant Nike branding on the heel is replaces with small branding placed on a shield. Expect these to drop soon at Footlocker.

The Nike Air Yeezy sold out immediately wherever it was released, Kanye’s Louis Vuitton’s are super-expensive and the Air Jordan VIII ‘Aquas’ haven’t retroed in quite some time. What’s a Mr. West biter fan to do? The next best thing to the Aqua 8s might be these Air Jordan Force VIIIs (AJF 8). The heel ribbing that sort of foreshadowed the AJXII sunray stitching is something we’ve never seen on an Air Force 1 sole, much less one with aquatone on the heel and toe and bright concord in between. If you like those, you’ll love the AJF8 in the OG home colourway. This pair features a perforated leather underlay that perfectly matches the AF1′s toe. Expect these in February, with the Aquas splashing down in March. via SC

Jordan Brand converted the Flight 45 from a low/mid cut to its new hightop form, and is now going backwards for/to the Ol School III. The Air Jordan Ol School III 5/8 will be releasing next spring in a couple of the colourways you’d expect. First up is the black nubuck pair pictured above that uses the exact colour scheme of the bred Air Jordan IV, plus a translucent outsole segment that peaks up Triax-style to reveal a heel Air cushion. The other pair is also black, but goes with Carolina blue accents. Last but not least is the obligatory white/metallic silver nod, which drops in March. Expect those splattered Uni-blue joints in February, along with the black/red pair. via SC

Once considered a questionable design, and one that still draws comparisons to the Nike Air Yeezy, the Air Jordan Flight 45 High has come into its own with this absolutely perfect set of four new colourways. It starts with this insane red nubuck pair (February release) with black and white accents. Another nubuck pair goes with all black (January), adding just a couple of white details so you don’t disappear. We get confirmation that the white/grey/black/red joints (February) aren’t just for kids, and while that’s exciting, the tonal grey pair that features some beautiful gradients might be the pick of the litter (March). Sneaker News will update you on all of these and everything else in store for Jordan Brand in spring ’10. via SC
