Nike SB introduced the Bruin in grand fashion with its Supreme collaboration earlier this year. Like the Dunk and Blazer before it, the Nike SB Bruin was originally a basketball sneaker that gained favor with skaters because of its frequently-sueded uppers and grippy vulcanized soles. This particular pair is a very simple take on that formula, using a monochromatic charcoal grey on the suede and stitching. The elegant simplicity is enhanced by a perforated Swoosh outline, and they’re available from Caliroots.

Black-on-black has been a popular combination for years, especially for kicks you plan on wearing hard. This year has seen more than normal, though, with the ‘great recession’ putting folks in a less-neon mood (and don’t forget how much influence Jay-Z has over streetwear). The latest assault on colour is a triple black Nike SB Stefan Janoski. They look superb in a woolen upper, but be careful about overdoing it by matching these to a peacoat. Whether or not you like looking like a wooly mammoth, they’re available at Caliroots.

Its riot-inducing original was already among the most famous sneakers of all time, but the ‘Pigeon’ colourway by Jeff Staple has gotten alot of respect in oh-nine. He created a Converse Sea Star Hi and a New Balance 575 with the same colourway, which inspired LaMJC to craft a similar Air Force 1 Bespoke and a custom Nike Air Max 90. Somewhere in the middle is this AM90 created on Nike iD. The creator used infrared in place of the salmon hits for a look that reminds us how similar the new Supra Skytop II ‘Gradient’ really is. Which Staple-inspired Air Max 90 would you pick?

The adidas Consortium City Series is back with round three this time collaboration with Paris’ Colette, London’s Crooked Tongues, Toronto’s Livestock and Tokyo’s VA. Just this past November we saw the adidas Consortium – City Series 2 with Norse Projects, SlamJam, DQM and SNS. As with the previous series each city designed a sneaker named after their respective city with colors favored by the collaborator. Take a look below for full details on each and look for their availability at adidas Consortium retailers soon.

The latest Nike Air Force 1 High for women has a subtly feminine edge. At first glance, you’ll notice a buttery smooth black leather upper riding a gum rubber outsole. This classic can’t-go-wrong colour combination is replicated on the straps and heel tab, where a flowery black lace is laid atop a tonal brown herringbone fabric. A solid choice for the cold months that you can rock with pretty much anything not-navy blue, grab a pair from ID4shoes on eBay.

Todd Bratrud’s ‘Brain Wreck’ Dunk High Premium was so stellar that we nearly forgot about the other part of Nike SB’s collaboration with Skate Mental. The Skate Mental x Nike SB Dunk High Premium features the same ‘NIKE SM’ tongue tag that appeared on the Brain Wreck variant sample. That little something extra enhances the relatively tame brown/white/blue colourway, a palette you’ll find duplicated on the matching dual-branded coat and backpack. Get all your Nike SB x Skate Mental kicks and gear from Caliroots.

The third collaboration between Patta and Nike on the Air Max 1 in only a matter of months was released this past Saturday at Patta in the Netherlands. Other retailers across the world will be releasing their pairs in the coming weeks but Patta hosted a special release over the weekend to the delight of various sneakerheads and Patta fans. It’s believed that Patta will be releasing one final collaboration Air Max 1 in the coming weeks or months. via Masta Lee

Things have been a little quiet on the Air Force 1 front compared to recent years, but Nike is coming back strong with some interesting new looks for the ladies this holiday season. This Air Force 1 Low Premium features a blend of nice materials on the upper, using Metallic Zinc leather on some sections with a herringbone patterned fabric covered by a floral design on the toe box and heel. A White midsole and laces and a gum outsole add the finishing touches to this sophisticated new women’s look. Ladies, if you like what you see, you can get your pair now from ID4shoes on eBay.

Many other footwear brands have been moving forward with styles and looks, hoping to reflect their acknowledgement of ever-changing trends. For Converse, it may be a little more difficult to do so, being limited to the contours of its existing styles. Not to mention even the slightest change to the silhouettes of certain shoes can take away from years of identity and branding that Converse has build for decades.
Along with the Chuck Taylor Strap Hi, the brand is trying to be a little more progressive by adding a padded collar to their popular Chuck Taylor profile. Coming in an array of material combinations, the colors are rightfully set for the winter season. And for those who require something more equipped for the season, there is a winter boot version, which has a more rugged sole and probably more water-resistant leather. As of now, these have already dropped in Europe, but no word as to stateside drops.

Christmas for Lebron James is a pretty special time, during his early child hood his mother brought him a mini basketball set which was one his earliest memories of his mothers love. His birthday is also just five days later on December 30th. For those who follow LeBron will know of the photo of LeBron shooting at his mini hoop on Christmas day. Last Christmas, Nike made a Zoom LeBron VI in kids sizes inspired by that Christmas day photo. This year, Nike will be releasing a special Air Max Lebron 7 also inspired by that special photo but in adult sizes. We are not sure what kind of release these will be but look for these this coming Christmas at Nike Basketball retailers. They are also available early at Marqueesole.
