While it’s not widely accepted that Nike borrowed the ‘Triax’-style Air window from the Puma R698, they certainly look alike. Similarly, Puma probably didn’t set out to copy the Swoosh with its colour choices for this latest R698 release, but both companies are on the pulse of which hues will be hot come springtime.
Looks like we can expect alot of electric neon shades; they’re covering this pair. They’re unique from most of the 698s we’ve seen because the stabilizing wing that partially covers Puma’s signature stripe is ‘extended’ toward the heel with a printed streak. It’s a visual that screams ‘SPEED!’ and you can be a couple months ahead of the curve by copping these from your local Puma retailer. via Kenlu

When we last saw Skippy, he was expressing his distaste for the use of kangaroo leather on the Sneaker Freaker x New Balance 850. Never one to let personal beliefs get in the way of more important matters, Skippy is back to handle his business like a champ. Check out the third installment of the Skippy New Balance videos after the jump to see Skippy engaged in “Danger, Drama and Action” as he saves the day time and again in his “Lightweight Performance” New Balance kicks. After some dominant years in Indiana, Jermaine O’Neal has recently bounced around the league a little from a brief stint in Toronto to his current home in Miami. Now that he’s getting comfortable in his new digs, Jermaine has a nice new PE to help show off his hometown colors. This Blue Chip II sports a a dark look perfect for Miami Heat away games. The kicks sport a combination of smooth Black leather and Red patent on the upper with some additional White accents on the Swoosh, midsole and contrast stitching. As a personal nod, O’Neal’s initials and number 7 are represented with an embroidered heel logo. If you are a Jermaine O’Neal fan or just find yourself digging the color scheme, these will be hitting House of Hoops locations in the very near future. Via FootLockerUnlocked.

50 Cent’s deal with Reebok may have finally come to an end as the rapper seems to have worn a pair of all Black Nike Goadome Boots when he visited BET’s 106 & Park last week to promote his new album, Before I Self Destruct. 50 also happened to be wearing a Crooks & Castles sweatshirt and matching New York Yankees fitted cap. Judge for yourself and let us know what you think after the jump…

Vans has dropped a series of high quality vulcanized rubber-soled boots this season. Taka Hayashi’s bold No Quarter may have been too much for some to handle, so that’s where the Buffalo Boot and this latest drop came in. Pictured above is the Switchback boot from the new Vans California collection. Both are pretty basic, providing a solid and fashionable base from which the rest of your attire can take flight. Brownish-grey joints with a black sole and another pair in black with brown sole and red laces are both available at higher quality Vans retailers like DQM.

Sneakerheads seem to be nuts about the Air Jordan Flight 45 High, whereas the original midtop colourways were frequently overlooked. Maybe if they had started with this Air Command Force-inspired colourway, things would have been different. Who cares about the past, though, when you have a chance to get another dope reminder of Woody Harrelson’s turn as Billy Hoyle in White Men Can’t Jump. These use the same yellow and blue accents as Hoyle’s Command Forces to liven up an otherwise tame palette. Enjoy onlookers’ “Oh that’s the move!” face when they see you copped these from Size?

We hoped that our last post about the Patta joints helped clarify all these products about Parra and Patta. We’ve seen a green and purple pair of Patta 1′s dropping, along with these, to commemorate the store’s 5 years in business. Quite a mixture, the color choices compete with just as many material applications- sporting denim, corduroy and perf nubuck. As we said last time, we weren’t sure on release info, but we’re glad to let you know these quickstrikes will drop at Patta this Saturday, the 28th. Good luck to those on the hunt.

Tracy Morgan along with a number of other movie stars were all in attendance at Madison Square Garden on Sunday afternoon when the New York Knicks hosted the Boston Celtics. Morgan was joined courtside by Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, Brooke Shields, Rosie Perez, Spike Lee, and more. While Marky Mark and Will Ferrell both sported various Knicks’ apparel, Tracy Morgan kept it clean with a Black North Face vest and a pair of the Nike Zoom Flight 95 Retro’s that were released last year. Nike 6.0′s Nigel Sylvester wore this special LIVESTRONG colorway of the Nike 6.0 Zoom Converge when he participated in the 2009 Nike 6.0 BMX Open Dew Tour in Chicago, also the highest viewed action sports tour in the world. When asked about his thoughts on Lance Armstrong, Nigel had this to say, “I have a lot of respect for Lance, battling cancer to the end and now riding again to spread his message. That’s insane. Mad Respect” These special LIVESTRONG x Nike 6.0 Zoom Converge sneakers are now on display at Niketown NY, for more information check out Freshness.

We all know that Questlove of The Roots is no stranger to the sneaker game. Aside from his work on the drums, he is perhaps best known by sneakerheads for his Air Force 1 collaboration from the 2008 1World collection. While the collaboration installments of the East vs. West pack get the bulk of the attention, there are plenty of fresh styles and colorways within the series that are more than deserving of some attention of their own. Here we take a peek at a rugged earth-tone look for the Air Max 1. The shoe features a Baroque Brown suede upper with an Urban Haze mesh underlay, giving the Air Max 1 more of a wintery look than we usually see on the classic runner. Additional accents come by way of a Black tongue and Swoosh and a clean White midsole. If this interesting new AM1 West model is up your alley, you can find them in stock now at select retailers such as Size?.
