Nike Pro Combat Uniform Locker Exclusive Charity Auction

Nike is known for sponsoring big names in professional sports, but they’ve been making huge strides in also giving spotlight to college athletes. The brand has also been working with quite a few organizations in hopes to create charities to benefit the less fortunate. The 10 Universities chosen for the Pro Combat Packs we saw as a 21 Mercer exclusive were also the base for a new charity run hosted by Nike. Following the trend of other charity funds, the winners of these prized pieces are to be decided through eBay auctions. But don’t get all antsy and start clicking to place a bid- you must first be qualified to even enter the auction.

So what’s included that justifies a starting bid of $1200?  Similar to the previous packs, a custom hand-made locker is created to hold gear worn by the football team, all of which donning each team’s respective colors and team motto. Included in the gear is a helmet, jersey, Hypercool top, and titanium D-ring belt featuring motto. But this wouldn’t be worth writing about if it didn’t also come with some footwear. Also included are school-specific colored Nike Trainer 1′s featuring the school insignia found on the tongue, along with motto at the heel of the sole. Additionally, a pair of Nike Zoom Vapor Fly cleats, featuring the team logo on the medial Flywire panel. One cleat will be signed by the head coach of the team, while the other is signed by a surprised celebrated former player from that school.

It was Nike’s intention to only create one of each, rightfully so being that so much effort is to be put into each one. But as it is, each University will get one, and another locker set to be on display at the Nike Department of Archives to serve as authenticity verification. Though each school locker is created in three editions, only one of each is to ever be available for public possession. So don’t get it twisted, you could have a very rare and unique piece of sports history.  100% of each auction will benefit an organization which the Universities have carefully chosen to aid, most of which are local groups of each respective school’s state.

    Go Hokies!

I never thought that funky 80′s-futuristic numbering and gradients that recall the same questionable era of design (especially on campus, with all the sports promo materials and even the signs on campus) could look this good.

  4. Go Seminoles Says:

NONE OF THESE JERSEYS GOT SHIT ON THE NOLE'S ONES. AND WERE GONNA BEAT FLORIDA NEXT YEAR BIATCHES. ITS GONNA BE A BALL GAME.
