In a 20th Anniversary year stuffed with Trainer retros, the new Nike Trainer 1 set a new standard. It’s such a good multi-purpose training shoe that instead of offering a real revision, Nike decided to just stick with a slightly modified version of what’s already working.
Enter the new Nike Air Trainer 1.2, a shoe that brings the Air Trainer 1′s revolutionary forefoot strap onto a higher cut of the Trainer 1 with a new Flywire pattern. One pair has the OG Chlorophyll look, and will be joined by a Steelers-lite colourway, one for the Yankees and/or Cowboys, and the obligatory white/black/red nod. The Trainer 1 needed to be re-designed from the get go. Its definitely not a real cross trainer like the original AT1. And I hope they put better materials on the update, the material they used on the Trainer 1s are just plain cheap.
