Nike Zoom Kobe V – Deconstructed

Nike Zoom Kobe V – Deconstructed

IMG_0156

It’s already been well documented that the new Nike Zoom Kobe V is pretty innovative in its design, specifically its amazing 10.6 ounce weight. Nike’s lightest basketball model ever owes its feather-like weight to a super streamlined and stripped down construction. You may have already seen our thorough Zoom Kobe V tech breakdown, and here we take things a step further with a look at a dissected Kobe V specimen that shows off each individual component of the shoe. The philosophy here with the extra-low cut and the bare minimum materials seems to be ‘less is more,’ and that means that what little you do see making up the shoe has been proven to be extremely durable despite the minimalist appearance.

As you can see, the entire upper is pretty much a one-piece Flywire-infused shell using heat-bonding technology to apply the overlay sections. You can also get a great look at the perforated mesh tongue and the cap and ankle wrap sections of the sculpted heel, as well as the layers of the midsole and outsole. Keep reading for a detailed look at the Zoom Kobe V, stripped down to each individual element for your viewing pleasure. Via HK-Kicks.
